I AND THREE FRIENDS HAD DINNER AT THE RESTAURANT THIS WEEK TO OBSERVE THE RECENT BIRTHDAY OF ONE OF THE GUESTS. WE ENJOYED TWO SHARED APPETIZERS, AND EVERYONE HAD STEAKS AND SHARED SIDES OF ASPARAGUS AND BROILED MUSHROOMS. OUR SERVERS WAS VERY LIVELY AND MADE CERTAIN THAT WE GOT WHAT WE ORDERED. IT WAS AN EXCELLENT DINING EXPERIENCE, AND A FIRST VISIT FOR THE THREE FRIENDS.

I was fully aware of the high prices before arriving but still there is a lot of sticker shock in the end. It is a nice place for couples, but forget about being romantic unless you can be romantic in higher decibels. I watched a table of eight trying to carry on a conversation but failed. Aside from the noise level, no matter where you are seated, the experience was perfect. Our server, Kevin, was very accommodating.

My boyfriend and I absolutely love this restaurant. We come here for all of our special occasions and when he's really wanting a steak or when I just have to have their miso sea bass. Their rosemary lemondrop martini is my favorite and there's nothing like it anywhere else.

The steaks are great... the scallops are ridiculous! Hollandaise covers among the freshest scallops I've had, over toasted brioche, with a hidden slice of heaven... er, bacon! Also, just in case you are debating, get the hash browns. I'm not a huge bleu cheese guy, so I opted to get the cheese on the side. But the bacon and onions with the hash browns are definitely winners too!

I felt that after we didn't order a bottle of wine the server was done with us. Didn't want much to do with us, was short after being so nice at the very initial greeting. I understand that it's dissapointing we didn't order a bottle but our tab was still high enough to get some respect.

Very sorry to find that they have discontinued the Lobster Bisque, it was my favorite. The replacement was good but not nearly AS good. I had the Prime Rib sandwich and it was good but the beef seemed somewhat bland and the bread was over toasted to eat as a sandwich in my opinion. 1st time I have ever been less than thrilled here so of course I will come back, just maybe not for lunch. Service was excellent as always.

Perhaps because I work in healthcare, I am very observant about spreading germs. The restaurant sets the silverware at the table rather than having it wrapped in the napkin. We were escorted to our table and the host laid the menu on top of our silverware. No doubt that menu touched 100's of hands before it was laid on the silverware they wanted me to put in my mouth. Restaurants should know better.

Our server, Christy M came over no less than 5 times to try to get me to buy gift cards, saying she was in a contest and she always got the most gift cards sold. I found that extremely rude, and she listened in on several of our conversations and made comments as she walked by. I will eat there again, but will specifically ask for a table that she is NOT serving. I was very upset over her rudeness. as this was a special birthday lunch I planned with my dearest friend. Christy M wrecked the whole lunch. The food was GREAT and I would recommend the scallops to everyone!

The noise level was very high and the table setting was average. The food and drinks were very good and our server was also good. We will go back again because the experience was good. Not the best place for a quiet romantic dinner but it would be fun for a group of 4 to 6 people. Be prepared to spend some money.

This was our first time coming here. Everything about this place is great. It's been years since my wife and I have had a great tasting steak. When we asked for medium rare, it came that way. The employees were all friendly, from the host to the waitress to the busboys to the managers. I would definitely be returning again, and next time I return I will bring others to enjoy what experience we experienced.

I ordered the mahi mahi with oysters. The sauce poured onto the plate was so salty it overpowered the seafood. The sauce was supposedly infused with ginger but I didn't taste ginger at all. The fish was cooked well. The oysters were chewy.

The team at Pittsburgh Blue really do strive for great flavor - everything is done with taste in mind. The meat-eaters in our group all had different preferences for their steaks and all were impressed. The Scottish salmon cooked on cedar planks was tender and flavourful. All the veggies were done to perfection - although the creamed spinach was not my favourite texture - it was undeniably fresh. Thankfully, the broccoli was neither soggy nor hard - just right. It matters. The huge "cake" of hash browns was well-appreciated - A wee bit indulgent, but worth every bite. Come hungry, listen to your server, and don't fill up on the bread.

Our meal was negatively impacted by two sources of music playing at the same time. While background music was playing, simultaneously a synthized percussion beat was also playing akin to a hip-hop night club on a Saturday night. In addition, the sports bar flavor of multiple TVs above the bar took away from the atmosphere. I left wondering what this restaurant wants to be. If I am going to spend $50 for a steak, I will go to a true steak and chop house

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Pittsburgh Blue recently and were treated to great food and service. We had eaten lunch at the bar before, but this was our first try at dinner. Our server, Cindy, was friendly, professional and knowledgeable about that the restaurant had to offer. Our steaks (standard filet and the bone on filet) were cooked exactly to order. Outstanding hashbrowns as well. While we were seated a little late, we enjoyed a drink at the bar and found their staff very friendly.

I love this place because the food is great and the service is always friendly and accommodating. Right now they're featuring their "Fall Oyster Shuck" and we had three items from this menu -- raw oysters, the Po Boy, and the chorizo and oyster pan roast. All were great -- particularly the pan roast, which was deeply flavorful. I always have a good experience here.

Applause to Pittsburgh Blue for its attempts to mimic the traditional upscale steakhouse. The service is fantastic and the food is very good, but not exceptional. Their bartender is attempting to concoct more modern twists on traditional cocktails, but they fall a bit short on class (i.e. Spicy Peanut-Infused Old Fashioned garnished with a circus peanut - what?) The steaks are tender and delicious, however, their chefs' ability to sustain consistent results in preparing steak the way you expect also underdelivers. Three out of four steaks were done to perfection; one came to the table rare when ordered medium. A decent suburbian choice for a night out for steak and drinks. Not my first choice for an exceptional dining experience.

The Blue is our favorite upscale dining spot. The food is always perfect and they have the best wait staff anywhere. Every one of them we've met has been personable, knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. Yes, it's pricey but you get what you pay for. You must try their regular hash browns, even if it's not your favorite potato dish. You haven't had hash browns until you've had these. They're addictive. One plate serves 4 unless you're dining with NFL linebackers.

My boyfriend and I made reservations here for our two year. Our waitress was on point along with her bar back. There personalities were very friendly, humorous and informative. We are both calamari fanatics and our craving was fulfilled with Pittsburgh Blues over the top calamari. I had the Aged Ribeye which was amazing and he had the Cowboy Ribeye with there mushroom sauce. Both of these were very tasty with the Cowboy being more rich and absurdly good. The mushroom sauce was outstanding. This was extra special as our waitress brought out a candle for a romantic dinner and at the end surprised us with a red velvet cupcake with a sparkler; my favorite dessert is red velvet! We will be coming back here :)

Was very disappointed with the food. Seafood Cobb salad was visually presented well, but it was bland. The lobster bisque was also sub-par. It had nice pieces of lobster, but the flavor was not there, lacking. No finesse. Nothing to write home about. Soup and a half salad for $30. You are paying for the decor. Not fit for foodies.

Chose this restaurant for our anniversary dinner. The service was outstanding, but that was the only good part. We were seated at a booth where I could see both the kitchen doors and the doors to another server area, and where a large, green exit sign was my main view all night. It was quiet until a family of 4 was seated at the table next to us. The kids were noisy (the little girl kept tipping her chair back and letting the legs crash to the floor) and ruined any kind of romantic dinner we had in mind. My husband's filet mignon was flat (usually you are served a nice, high, round steak) and not very tasty. My sea bass tasted fishy (meaning it was not fresh) and was spongy. I sent it back. Overall, a very disappointing experience!
