A word from Piropos Restaurant
The taste of Argentina is very American Midwestern. The foods of its capital city, Buenos Aires, are steaks, grilled meats, seafood, fresh salads and vegetables. Argentineans enjoy dining in a generally relaxed atmosphere where conversation and gracious dining go hand-in-hand. Piropos Restaurant, on the hill in Briarcliff Village, offers a unique view, warm atmosphere and fresh foods prepared in the Argentinean style. ***PLEASE NOTE: WHEN MAKING RESERVATIONS PIROPOS CANNOT RESERVE WINDOW TABLES. THEY MAY BE REQUESTED UPON ARRIVAL, BUT CANNOT BE GUARANTEED. Thank you.Continued

  • "We experienced a wonderful 60th birthday celebration for a dear friend. The food, ambience, service all were exceptional. We have never been disappointed by a visit to this restaurant."

  • "Wonderful evening out with friends. Food and service were excellent. Great place for special occasions. The downstairs piano bar is a great place to go after dinner."

  • "Second time to restaurant. Restaurant nearly empty, but stood at front desk for over 5 minutes waiting to even be recognized. Service excellent, but slow and a little disorganized. I get the idea Piropos lives off it's location, great ambience, and good food, but could care less if you as the diner ever returns. That happened the last time we were there. Left after 40 minutes of NO Service, and were told, Thanks for coming in. Hope to see you again soon."

  • "We enjoyed our experience, but the menu has become more fusion than Argentinean. It was somewhat disappointing and my main course came out barely warm."

  • "Everything was fantastic! Love the food! We'll definitely go back and hopefully get to sit next to the windows."

  • "I had a great experience here and was seated by the window. The bread came with garlic and sweet pepper toppings instead of butter. Large portions. Great view. I would definitely go back for a special occasion or romantic date. Servers were prompt. Menu had a variety of seafood, chicken, lamb, and steak. I got the swordfish and it came with a fresh pineapple salsa. Dishes were not too heavy on sauce but had a lot of flavor."

  • "My fiancé and I have decided to make Piropos our birthday location. Service is always top notch and the food is always amazing. We had the pleasure of seeing a gentleman propose to his girlfriend a couple tables away and it was nice seeing another couple preparing to tie the knot - the staff was able to manage that occasion without any disruption to the service and atmosphere of the rest of the restaurant. Our waiter Fred (dining manager?) was fantastic. We will be returning again and again."

  • "This is one of our favorite restaurants in Kansas City! This visit was for my wife's birthday and we requested a window table (7:45) understanding it was first come first serve for windows. Didn't get a window table even though we waited 45 minutes past our reservation because the people at the tables decided to hang out longer even though they weren't eating or drinking anything. In spite of that, the service was wonderful as usual and although we were on a restricted diet and thought we would miss the steak, we all had fish and absolutely loved it. Desserts were all great as well."

  • "We had such a wonderful time at Piropos. Our waitress was very attentive, and friendly. We started with a sampling of the various Empanadas as our appetizers; they were so good that next time I might order a few of them as my entree! I followed that up with the Crab Bisque and the Seafood Ravioli which were both very good and I would highly recommend both. The others in our group had the Grilled Chicken Breast, Pork Chops, and Ribeye. All of them raved about both the portion sizes as well as the flavor & accompaniments. We ended our dinner with the Cheesecake & the Delicia de Chocolate, both provided the perfect ending to a fantastic evening!"

  • "This is our 'go to' restaurant for any type of celebration. Every time we leave we always say we need to come back more often. Service is always fantastic. The location of our seats were not our favorite during this visit."

  • "Food and Service was for the most part OK but I expected better for the price we had to pay! I used always recommend this restaurant when it was in Parkville as a "must visit in KC" but unfortunately that is not the case with the location at Briarcliff. The experience was always much more before and was not as expensive. The view is great at both locations which were both along the Missouri River."

  • "I wanted a quisine that we had never experienced for my wife's 55th birthday. I made the reservation 3 weeks prior requesting to be seated IF POSSIBLE at a table overlooking downtown KC. I phoned twice just to follow up. Several days before our reserved date I called again to see if that table request was still a go and was assured yes. We arrived early and were promptly seated at the busiest table in the restaurant no with explanation. Not recognizing my request was the insult not necessarily the table. The food was very good and the service good, but the staff was not friendly. Very nonchalant. Not confident that I would recomend Piropos based on that alone. It is on the upper end for cost, good value, but below average staff."

  • "My wife and had her birthday celebration at Piropos. This is the second time we dined there and ambiance is as good as it gets. Unfortunately can't say the same for the rest. Our steaks were at least one layer over cooked but more importantly the server didn't come to check on how our food was. Later when we ordered desert it took too long but he made up taking the cost on the house. Our first dinner there about a year ago was excellent and look forward to going back there."

  • "Have been wanting to go for some time. Did not disappoint. Seated right away. Great table with a view. Server was very attentive yet did not hover or push us. Food was superior. Cooked just right and excellent quality. Highly recommend for most occasions. If we lived closer it would be on our regular rotation."

  • "My comments are not so much about the restaurant, which is one of my favorite in the city, but the other patrons. This is a restaurant that my wife and I save for special occasions. And because it is a special occasion, we make a point to dress up and look nice. It always disappoints me to see that dressing up for other patrons includes jeans, an untucked shirt, and I even saw a guy in a baseball hat. At first you would think it is is the younger crowd dressed like that. On our most recent visit, it was the opposite. The younger patrons were all very nicely dressed. It was the older crowd that might as well have gone to Applebees."

  • "We've been to Piropos in Parkville many times but hadn't made it to Piropos in Briar Cliff, so we wanted to treat ourselves to someplace new and this was our choice. It was outstanding! This is a more upscale version of the Parkville restaurant with some of the same offerings, but many new ones. The peppercorn filet was outstanding - absolutely delicious and flavorful with the brandy cream sauce which just knocks up the flavor. The mahi mahi was also just as outstanding - the red pepper sauce was just the right kick to make it perfection. The drinks are unique & flavorful too. If you want an outstanding view of downtown KC as you dine, this is the best view in the city. It is now our new favorite Piropos restaurant; can't wait to return."

  • "T'was our first time dining here & definitely not our last. A fantastic dining experience from a professionally and extremely sensitively timed service from FRED who just "knew" what we wanted, when we wanted it; to a culturally true gastronomical delight. From the sumptuous authentic Argentinian spreads for the bread to simply mouth watering choice cut beef, to the "au gratin" potatoes that were definitely to "dine" for! Fred was an intellectual genius at so aptly describing the foods and with assisting us in choosing food or drink. The ambiance was marvelous, from the sunset beginning, to the marvelous night lights whether from a cozy booth or a gorgeously adorned white table cloth covered table. True to Piropos, there is a heaven..."

  • "We talked about going to Piropos for a long time. Once we did, we wondered what took us so long! The food is always delicious. For those who prefer the "standard" fare, they have it. If you are more adventurous, they have choices for you. Everything is delicious and the service is excellent. If you happen to get a table facing the windows, you will not be disappointed as you watch the sun set and the lights in downtown KC come on or airplanes taking off and landing from the downtown airport. On a week night, it was quiet and intimate. (It is more noisy on weekends.) Great choice for whatever reason you have for dining out."

  • "I didn't go looking for Piropos in particular when looking for a romantic dinner out. Only something that would meet the general requirements. (Good ambience, professionally-made cuisine, etc.) Piropos was one of about five restaurants in Kansas City I investigated. My decision on Piropos based mainly on the dinner menu, which included a lot of elaborate seafood dishes. Being a huge seafood fan, this was a critical selling point to me. Priopos didn't disappoint. My shrimp and scallop pasta was above reproach, our service was exemplarily, and my girlfriend (now fiancee) was deeply impressed with her dish. This, together with the discovered Piropos definition, made for a serendipitous atmosphere to pop the question to her. The perfect night."

  • "Piropos is a wonderful, unique restaurant that should be a must-visit on any Kansas Citian's list. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, we were completely taken care of--the service was wonderful. Food was delicious and exquisite. We will definitely be returning."

  • "Wonderful dinner! We enjoyed the crab cakes, seafood pasta and ribeye. Our only negative was the sides that accompanied the steak…asparagus and potatoes were not good."

  • "Our server Alejandro was very friendly and quite knowledgeable of the Argentinian culture and food which made it an even more pleasant experience. Food was a little pricey but made up for it in the service and ambience. Although it was obviously a very busy night the staff seemed to be in good spirits and gave good timely service, great job everyone!"

  • "This is the best place for a group or just two. We were seated at a round table to the back of the resturant with beautiful scenic views of the City. The ambience is outstanding it makes the evening feel special no matter what your event may be. The service is beyond compare. They really know how to take care of you. I would highly recommend this restaurant for you next event."

  • "We visited on a busy night, but still received attentive service. All selections were well prepared and beautifully presented. The pork chop entree was really enough for 2, with its 2, 8 oz chops sitting on top of a healthy portion of mashed potatoes. The salmon and the filet mignon were also perfectly seasoned. We closed the night with creme brulee, which was creamy inside and nicely crusted on top."

  • "Some of the best food I've ever had and the view is great, especially at night. Hard to go wrong with anything on the menu."

  • "Pirpos has a wonderful bar area, servers and atmosphere, but I have had better meals for the same price."
    Dined on 2/15/2014
  • "The view was fantastic, the wine selection was above average, the service was very good; was very disappointed in the food. For all of the buildup about this restaurant, the food was at best average and pricey for the quality. We have dined at many local 4 & 5-star restaurants that had much better tasting food and for a better price. Will not completely write this restaurant off and will give it one more chance."

  • "We received a gift certificate to Piropos as a wedding gift, and it took us seven months to use it. What a wonderful lunch we had -- delicious and romantic. The menu was great, we had a table by the window and our server couldn't have been better. With lunch being spectacular, we can't wait to try it for dinner."
