  • "Was going to a show in the area and found Piola on the Summer-licious website. There were two of us, I had Bruschettone for my appetizer and it was fantastic. GF had nsalata di Gamberi Aioli ) which she found very refreshing. For mains I had the Wild Boar pizza and it was unbelievable. Gf has the Gnocchi, it was delicious (I stole a bite) and the portion was good. For desert we both had strawberry pannacotta which was a fantastic way to finish the meal. The bar area was busy because of Fifa and the restaurant filled up as we were leaving. Would go back in a heartbeat."

  • "Have been on many occasions - I have been for the wonderful pizza and also for the unlimited gnocchi. I took people who are more particular than I and one has already done repeat visits, the other said he was pleased he didn't live close by or he'd always be there! Well done. Can't wait to try the back patio. I especially like the little surprise gems 1/2 bottle, sangria pitchers and all you can eat gnocchi - all incredible incentives for a restaurant that always pleases."

  • "We came in as a group of 6, and treated our mothers and ourselves to the prefixed Mother's Day menu. The menu was lovely. I chose the Spinach salad with pear, walnuts and gorgonzola. I would eat that again in a heart beat. It was fresh and not overdressed. The mains consisted of 3 pasta choices, and 3 pizza options. It seems the whole family chose to go the pizza route. Everyone was happy with their choices, but i still think i had the best pizza. It had prosciutto and fresh arugula on it - delicious. The last course was an italian classic - Tiramisu, one of my favourites. Its a difficult dish to mess up, and at an Italian restaurant it better be good...which it was. Atmosphere of the place is very casual. Service was nothing special. "

  • "I went for gnocchi day on the 29th and the gnocchi was excellent - nice and light and fluffy. Service was superb. However, make sure you go with a full appetite. By the end I wasn't even enjoying the gnocchi because I was so full."

  • "The service was beyond amazing, but I'm still thinking of the fusilli with pesto, so I should mention that first. Amazing taste of pure greenness makes a mockery of pre-made versions of pesto. It was Instagrammed for beauty and then thoroughly savored. Salad ingredients tasted fresh and perfect, the flavors of each element allowed to speak for themselves. Later, an amazing tiramisu -- not overly sweet, just lovely. A member of our party felt faint from low blood sugar and staff and management were beyond kind, encouraging her to lie down on the banquet and raise her feet even though the room was busy. TheirCat thoughtfulness and discretion were outstanding."

The service was a little slow, but I think that is a positive thing as it allowed us time to digest and enjoy each others company instead of being rushed. The restaurant is far from where we both usually dine. I wish we were closer, so we could explore their extensive menu."

  • "We went for lunch during winterlicious and loved the pizza that was on the set menu with veggies, goat cheese, and flat bread. The bruschetta was also amazing and we enjoyed some refreshing ice cream after. The only thing we didn't like was the pesto pasta as we found it to be VERY pestoie :P Other then that it was a great little place, easy to get to and relaxing environment."

The menu for the event was good, with lots of delicious options, however waiting for each course took a really long time. The bruschetta was very fresh, Piola pizza (with added pulled chicken) very satisfying and tiramisu was very refreshing. And the raspberry mojito was a salad in a glass - yum!"

  • "Food was amazing as usual but the new years eve package for $75 didn't work out so great. They offered a 3 course meal and open bar rail all night. It was cheap liquor(absolute, Smirnoff). Besides that, the music the "DJ" was playing was HORRIBLE. He was playing "lets do the twist" and other old music. We were told the crowd was going to be a younger crowd so the music would mesh well. The place was full 45-50+ year olds and they weren't even dancing much to this music. Oh and one more thing, the open bar ended at 1am(which is fine) but there was NO LAST CALL announced. Once you pay your bill, the waitress doesn't come to you anymore and gives you cut eye when you want another drink that is included in your $75 package. Best Gnocci ever!"

  • "Went with Italian friends. Regretted the waitresses did not speak Italian...not very authentic that way. The decor was pleasant. A reminder of Italy somehow. The music? Again, not authentic. Modern North American rock. Not loud though as we sat in the back. I would have preferred the singers to be Italian! The waitress? Pleasant enough, nothing special. The food? Simply DELICIOUS! I decided to return. Went back: same decor, same ambiance and music. No Italian waitress but a sweet, professional young lady took care of us and the food was as delicious. Great prices too. We also made a remark and the Chef (ahhhh, finally an Italian, charming, young man) cared to greet us in real Italian style. We'll be back!"

  • "The staff were not very friendly or helpful. We just wanted a quiet corner to enjoy a celebratory meal. We moved 3 times because they kept seating us in floating/freezing sections. Last - naturally, they sat us right next to a table of 20 and told us we couldnt sit at the corner booth because that was a table for 6 and we were only 2 - despite that section of the restaurant being totally empty. I realize servers have sections but is it really that difficult to do your customers a favor? Ambiance was like very chain-like. Food was ok but small portions so we were still really hungry when we left. Would never go back and def not recommend it."

  • "Really liked the interior; colourful, comfortable space. The pizza had possibly the thinnest crust I have ever encountered while being absolutely structurally sound and quite crisp: it did not wilt at all under the weight or moisture of the ingredients around. (How do they do that? Incredibly hot over for a very short time?) That said, the pizza was tasty without being phenomenal. I would happily go back to Piola when in the area, (and would like to try more pizzas from the menu—I had the Al Pesto this time) but I associate other pizza joints in town, like Queen Margherita, with more smack dab lusciousness."

  • "The sign on the door said they were famous for their pizza, and they were right. it was absolutely delicious. Very flavorful and perfectly cooked. made you want more with each bite. i as well tried their pasta special of rigatone a la vodka with pancetta that was as well phenomenal. very rich tasty sauce with crispy bites of pancetta. the service was fine but i found rather inattentive and it was hard to get the attention of our server when we needed it. if you like old school italian food, i highly recommend giving piola a try!"

  • "Staff was pleasant, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Atmosphere was comfortable, very clean and nicely decorated. Music was at a comfortable volume, and conversations were held, without raising voices. Food tasted great! We had 2 pizza's, 2 pasta dishes, 2 desserts, an espresso and a latte. Flavors of each individual dish was seasoned and cooked to perfection! The espresso was a bit strong for my liking; I prefer a strong bean, as opposed to a weak bean, but I still enjoyed my latte. We also checked into via Foursquare and was surprised to receive a notification of 10% off our bill, so that was a nice added touch. Overall, we will be coming back to Piola again. Thanks for a great experience throughout!"
