Step inside one of Montreal's Spanish Basque restaurants and experience a night of exquisite taste of modern Basque Cuisine all tapas style also known as Pintxos. Located in Le Plateau on Roy Street between St-Denis and Blvd. St-Laurence, it`s an easy find. Pintxo is a convenient restaurant to eat at since it is in the heart of one of the busier districts in Montreal.
Besides being known as La nueva modiva Basqua (New trend of Basque cuisine), Pintxo is also known for its extensive Spanish wine list which is offered by the glass or by the bottle, and along with a beautiful full bar for those who just want to chat and have a few drinks while enjoying the beautiful atmosphere. At Pintxo the tapas are presented in a typical Basque style called Pintxos (Basque bites in English). The chef, who is part owner and studied Basque cuisine in Spain, is determined to please everyone who is willing to experience modern delicious, artistically presented Pintxos.

  • "Beware, price adds up as you munch along. But you're used to that. Sushi works the same way. These bite sized morsels of culinary art are quite tasty indeed! We spent two hours grazing our way through through anything that caught our eye on the menu and didn't even notice the time pass. Since we were unfamiliar with most of the items on the Spanish-themed wine list, we described the types of wines we like best and the pintos we wanted to order and the knowledgeable waiter made couple of recommendations. The first wine we sampled was the one we chose for our meal. Sorry, but can't remember the name. Suffice it to say the staff knows their menu and their wine list. And, their table-side manner is impeccable."

The food was well cooked, flavorful and well presented. A nice dining experience all around and well worth the trip. I would recommend it to those who like trying new dishes and enjoy the experience of sharing their food with good friends or family!"

  • "It started with us looking at our water glasses for 10 minutes before our waiter came to offer more! Our order got messed-up. My wife got a tapas she had not ordered while I got two at the same time. Then there was no more synchronism in the meal. One always had a plate to eat from while the other was waiting for his! When asked for coffees and if we wished to have them with or before desert we said with and they arrived a few minutes later to find out that one of the dessert: the chocolate mousse, took about 10 minutes to cook! All this after the deserts had to be confirmed with us again! By the time we were ready to get the bill, it seemed it was more important to set tables for the next day than to tend to us! Disappointed."

  • "I'm from Spain and I enjoyed eating at this restaurant. This is not the most representative restaurant from Spain, but still it is clearly inspired by Spanish cuisine (mainly from the north) with a "touch from the chef". The only negative point is that it was pretty noisy, but it was mainly the fault of our table neighbors than the restaurant itself. You definitely should give it a try."

Good ambience and great service with very knowledgeable wait staff. Nice wine list. Would go back again. It can get a bit pricy but worth it if you like that type of dining experience. Only draw back was there were limited vegetarian options compared to other places in the area. Other than that it was fantastic."

  • "we dined here this summer and *loved* the tapas: highly original, interesting combinations of flavors. this time, we were quite disappointed, and mostly with the combinations of seafood and chorizo tapas which were less than the sum of the parts. This was too much experimentation and did not work, in our opinion. But we will come back in a few months and see what the chef comes up with."
