I took some friends to the Pintxo in order to let them discover the typical basque tapas. Everything was perfect. The pintxos were of high quality food. There pintxos are "de concurso" : they could win a contest.

Pintxo is a nice little restaurant with lots of choices for pintxos (spanish entrée). Although some pintxo was not super great, the whole thing was very nice with a "plateau" feeling with gluten free stuffs and organic menu. The service is personnal and very nice and fast and you won't wait for anything more than you need. Excellent for a first date or a romantic evening with your SO.

We were a group of 6 and ordered 9 pintxos to share. Our favorites were the Boudin aux pommes, morue et sauce vierge, pieuvre grille et chorizo, pieuvre farci and the cotelette de cerf. The feuillete de tomate et fromage de chevre and the salade de maquereau were solid bets. However, some like the carpaccio de wapiti and the tartare de canard fume were a bit bland and left us indifferent. We also asked for a wine that would be suitable for our choices of pintxos and the waitress did great (grenache and tempranillo blend) Service was a little slow and a bit absent-minded (e.g. they brought out the olive oil, but not the bread). They did take the time to explain what the pintxo were as they came out and that was appreciated.

My husband and I have been coming here for special occasions for several years now and it never disappointing! Outrageous food, delicious wine (they boast an amazing selection of Spanish wines), the consistently outstanding staff - Pintxo has it all. Tucked away on a quiet street in Montreal's lovely Plateau neighborhood, this restaurant is a sure bet.

We shared 9 pintxos between the two of us. While most were refined and flavorful (the duck tartare and the mackerel special were to die for), others like the oyster tempura were forgettable. The low point was the dessert. My berry tart was overly sweet and lacked subtlety, and the poached pear was hard as a rock. After asking a waiter about it, he told us that this was perfectly normal, and brought us a steak knife. Yes, a steak knife to eat a poached pear; and yes, the steak knife was necessary. We stated that poached pears should not be hard, but he insisted it was normal. When the bill arrived, we weren't charged for it, but we felt their denial and dismissal of our complaint was condescending. We'd still recommend going for the pintxos.

Two of us ordered 8 pintxos, which were served one at a time, in the perfect order. Each one was a taste-treat, and standouts were the two nightly specials of mackerel and venison, along with the mushrooms and duck confit. Our server was friendly, helpful, at our table when we needed her, and the support staff were equally capable and friendly. We will be back for more.

A great place for foodies that truly prefer taste over amount because the portions are quite small but the flavours are really wonderful. The overall ambiance is quite nice but the restaurant fills up very fast and the noise level is moderate. The menu degustation for 38$ is a good value because it allows you to try 4 tapas (chef’s choice) and one main dish of your choice. A nice place for a special occasion or a romantic dinner.

After scouring around yelp for hours my travel companion and I decided on Pintxo. The dining room is cozy but not crowded. The service is impecable. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. The food was outstanding. Artfully prepared and the progression was flawless. If on the menu, I highly recommend the 'grilled octopus and chorizo' and the 'venison medallions'. I cannot wait to visit Montreal once more to eat at Pintxo; it was a highlight of my trip.

This was my third visit to Pintxo, and I love it more each time I go. The food is lovingly prepared and served. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The wine list is impressive and mixed drinks amazing. This is the second time I've brought my 11-year old daughter--who now calls it her favourite restaurant--and I am always impressed when a restaurant gives the same level of service to a mom and her kid as they do to anyone else (which is sadly not often the case). We shared 8 plates and absolutely loved most of them. The stuffed figs, smoked duck tartar and torchon de foie gras are real standouts. The grilled vegetables were a little disappointing, they weren't bad, just not as exciting or interesting as the rest of the dishes.

The selection of Pintxaos (Basque tapas) is very extensive (including 2 additional ones which where specially offered the evening I was there) and all of the 9 I shared with the out-of-town business associate I dined with ranged from very good to excellent (the bajoue de boeuf has been rated as the "most tender and flavorful piece of beef I've ever tasted" by my colleague). The only one that was slightly disappointing was the stuffed calamari: it was a very small calamari (especially considering that we were sharing everything...) and although the stuffing was very good, the animal was somewhat tough and hard to cut & under the teeth... Good wine list (private). We had 9 pintxaos and an average priced wine bot. and ended up with $180...

The place is really nice, the atmosphere and the staff are great. The food was simply amazing, even if the pintxos are smaller than a tapa (with a very similar price). The only thing we didn't appreciate was the slow service. It took a lot of time to be served between pintxos, it was so long that we ended up eating one of our friend's food! Also, the team service approach might work in some occasions, but for us and for the staff was confusing, that is another reason why we ended up eating our friend's pintxo! Besides that, nothing to complain about, the food is tasteful, even the bread was delicious!

This restaurant, with the great variety of tastes, textures and visual of the different pintxos is a wonderful and unique culinary experience. The service is friendly and competent without being clingy. My fourth visit to Pintxo did not disappoint. We did not want a big meal so we ordered six small plates. All were nicely presented, interesting in taste and texture and filled us with delight and good Basque cuisine. The service was discreet and friendly. The waitress helped with the wine choices by the glass. We did not order the main courses but from post experience these too are delicious. A good restaurant for a twosome or a small group, music and good conversation can be heard.

À proximité du quartier des spectacles, ce restaurant fait découvrir différents agencements de saveurs à travers les différents tapas (ou pinxto). Greeting, service, servers' recommendations, food and wine are outstanding! Feel free to let your server make you discover a tour of the Basque Country via its Pintxos recommendations and surprises! You should make your réservations at least 2 to 3 weeks in advance since this restaurant is a popular one in the neighborhood! Enjoy :-)

The food at Pinxto is awesome! But for the price, I would suggest improving the quality of the service just a bit and perhaps the decor. Prices seemed 10-20% higher than other tapas restaurants out there and the portions are also 10-20% smaller. Food was so good that we didn't mind this detail. :-)
