Diner Reviews
  • "Always enjoy coming here during pleasant weather for out door dining. Solid food, at fair prices along with a beautiful setting. It was in season and virtually no one there - hope more people find out about it"

  • "The patio on a warm spring evening is one of the best ways to enjoy the valley. Pinon provides a relaxed atmosphere for diners to enjoy the food and the view."

  • "Pinion Grill is one of the best culinary secrets in Scottsdale. They need to tell everyone. My guest said he could eat the scallop and shrimp dinner every night. We have been going here for years and it never disappoints in delicious dinners and great setting on McCormick Lake. His son devoured his salmon dish and the steak was generous. Treat yourself to a new place with lots of ambiance. The Millenium offers a cozy bar area and meals served there. Don't just drive by, come in and enjoy this special dining experience."

  • "I food and service were good! Unfortunately, we were the only table in the restaurant both on the patio and the dining room. So it was not a good experience for our out-of-town guests to experience Scottsdale dining."

  • "Forget about ordering a steak here. On my last visit, I ordered the rib-eye rare. I was served (and up-charged for) the NY strip. That was the server's fault. This time, same order. I received the rib-eye, but it was well-done. That's the kitchen's fault: when the server brought it, he announced "rib-eye rare" as he set it down. I guess I'll order the chicken next time, if there is a next time."

  • "Only 3 tables filled it the height of season....should have been a sign. Only one waiter so service was very slow. Food was just average. It's a shame because it is a nice venue overlooking a lake."
    Dined on 3/25/2014
  • "The best way to enjoy this place would be a sunset "aperitif" on the lovely patio by the lake. Make a meal of the very good apetizers, enjoy the full bar, take in the view, relax in the deep chairs and stay clear from the run of the mill entrees."

  • "The directions didn't help us locate the restaurant. It would have been helpful if it had been listed as being located at the Millennium Hotel. Only a few tables were occupied, yet the service was extremely slow. We will probably not visit again. The patio view and the scenery was very nice!"

  • "We ate at Pinion Grill many years ago when it was an outstanding representation of creative, contemporary southwest cuisine. Coming back to the area for the first time in many years, we decided to try it again Over the years, it morphed into a run of the mill dining experience. Food was OK, bit nothing special, the creative southwest flair was definitely gone"

  • "What more can you ask for. . . .good food, good service, and a beautiful view. And reasonable prices."

  • "We were looking for a place to take our MOMS for Valentine's Day. We opted to to go the day before-to avoid any Valentine's Day crowds, and ohhh this was the right decision. It was not very crowded (which was great for us). The menu (we were there for lunch), though limited provided enough choices for each of us to find something tasty, and we had a very memorable afternoon. Great views! Easy in and out. Close to home. Soooo relaxing and perfect weather. I would love to go back in the morning to enjoy breakfast, have coffee, journal, read , work on my computer. Or maybe dinner...or lunch again. Any time- would be a great time to visit this quiet neighborhood gem... We'll be back... P. S. Try the banana creme pie... very yummy!!!"

  • "Haven't been here in many years but found the food excellent this last Saturday evening. The view is unbelievable."

  • "The setting was outstanding but the food was less than what I was expecting. The problem with noise level was due to a party that they had booked for the room next to the main eating area. It did spoil the romantic ambiance that I was hoping for on Valentines Day."

  • "The food was great however our service was not good at all. We repeatedly had to ask for bread, it did not come until after we were finished with our starter meal and when my wife ordered the crab and never received a crab fork even though everyone else at the other table that were there after we arrived. I would recommend the restaurant, advise the service may not be very good."

  • "The food was delicious and the service fantastic. We asked to sit outside and our server made it happen with the heater and fire. It was beautiful. Thank you for a great kickoff to our first visit to Scottsdale."

  • "Had brunch here and found it to be a great place with amazing food and views."

  • "We did not know that the restaurant was within the millennium spa... We typically stay away from "hotel" restaurants. We wanted something nice and in the neighborhood. We were even more concerned when we were the only patron in the place and the bartender ended up being our server. However, the views from the dining room are exceptional and each of us enjoyed our respective entrees. Price was reasonable."

  • "The entire resort was under renovation when I was there so I had an atypical experience. The food was good but not great and certainly not exquisite."

  • "Tuesday night 7pm....We were the only ones there (the entire time)"

  • "Delicious food and attentive service. A bit chilly, so we ate inside - those with thicker skin seemed to be having great time on patio by lake."
