Ping Pong Dim Sum - ChinatownThis is a first class restaurant. This is a first class restaurant. Great service, great food, great ambience.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGood each time I've been.I recommend Ping Pong Dim Sum to anyone who asks me for a good place to eat in Chinatown. Good food, good atmosphere, interesting specialty cocktails. It's a good choice for most people, but please note, this is not a child-friendly restaurant. There's a Fuddrucker's two blocks down if you're hauling kids around.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat timewe enjoyed lunch at this chinatown spot. great and diverse dim sum.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMNeighborhood GemGreat eclectic chinese restaurant. The food and ambience were all wonderful.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMPosh dim sumIf you are looking for dim sum but prefer ambiance over a hole in the wall, this is the place for you. It was beautiful in it's simplicity but very elegant. There was the typical choices there and it was delicious.
I enjoyed it, but would have preferred more of a cart-going-around kind of place.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFun and deliciousPP DS has a nice clean environment with prompt service and very good food. Some of the steamed dumplings were difficult to get out of their baskets with chopsticks. Almost all the small plates contained three items which made feeding our party of four challenging. The drinks were delicious but seemed watered down--definitely not worth the price.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed each of our dishesWe enjoyed each of our dishes at Ping Pong. Even our nonadventurous eater liked the variety of things we ordered. A fun time was had by all!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMTasty, but loud!My family had a great time at Ping Pong, and we were happy to get a good reservation last minute on a Friday. The service was not as attentive as we would have liked, especially when we were trying to flag down our server to order more dim sum, but the food was all delicious and we enjoyed ourselves. The crispy duck spring roll, the pork bbq bun, the sea bass dumpling, and the spicy vegetable dumplings were our favorites. Dessert was a little disappointing, and the restaurant was very loud, but overall we had a good experience and I would definitely go back to Ping Pong.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Dinner Menu! The prix fix menu was amazing, it is a lot of food for what you pay, and trust me, it's delicious!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMPortion SizePortions of 3 items are hard to manage to share with a group of 4....means someone misses out something in each course.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMExquisite Dim SumDim sum here is raised to a culinary art. This is gourmet dining.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMDishes were fresh and hot.Dishes were fresh and hot. Avoid the prix fix and ask the wait-person for their recommendations.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great time--the onlyWe had a great time--the only thing I would point out is that all of our dishes came at once which was overwhelming to recieve all at the same time. It also made for an extremely crowded table. Additionally, we had a group of 4 and all of the dishes had 3 servings, so if it is possible to make them equal to the number in the party, or at least available in even numbers, that would be very helpful5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Food, Small Portions, $$$$The food is excellent, the concept is right, the location in Chinatown is perfect. The service was a tad slow -- should have been at a quicker pace since dumplings aren't that complicated to make? Like SEI down the street, you leave a bit hungry -- due to small portions, 3 bite sized dumplings per dish serving -- and quite a bit lighter in the wallet. Overall though we rate the place highly and will return.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMPing Pong was great for lunch--thePing Pong was great for lunch--the servers were courteous and the food was very good.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this placeWe took our Daughter to dinner here prior to the Rihanna concert at Verizon. Love this place. Staff was friendly and accommodating. When some of our party cancelled because of traffic we asked if we could move to a smaller table. They gladly helped us move and thanked us for asking. Love the food and the service was top notch. We would have dinner here again without question. It is a bit on the expensive end, but we had quite a few drinks (Excellent by the way. Very creative. Now I know what Lavender and Rose taste like!) and all in all it was a special occasion so the cost was quite reasonable. Great place.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMSeating was not comfortable,Seating was not comfortable, Stools for seating with no back they do have bench seating at some tabele but no booth seating. It's not a place that if you want to relax and sit back while your eating. Great drink selection and the food is great.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMDim SumThis was our second time at Ping Pong. Service and food has been great both times. We went on a Monday night so the it was not very busy.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, mediocre service.I love Ping Pong. I've been frequenting this restaurant since I lived in London several years ago. The food is always delicious and I really enjoy the seasonal menu. However, I'm always surprised at the quality of service. It always, always, always leaves something to be desired as the staff always does the minimum. I don't understand why management can't match the caliber of service to the caliber of food.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was great - perfect atmosphereFood was great - perfect atmosphere for an adult birthday party. Our server was friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that the bar service was slow even though it wasn't terribly crowded.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMService and dim sum were great,Service and dim sum were great, even though they were completely packed from the minute they opened the doors. Best har gau ever! Very innovative options, dumplings all perfect. You might miss the tradition of the carts going by when you first get there, but once you start tasting - - you'll love it!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMExquisitely tailored Dim SumExquisitely tailored Dim Sum of a great variety.. Great taste and wonderful presentation. Wait staff was ok, but waitress seemed busy..could not find her easily.. pleasant enough though..4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWith the brunch deal you definitelyWith the brunch deal you definitely feel like you're getting your money's worth of delicious (if not entirely authentic) dim sum. The duck and five spice dumpling was hands down my favorite bite (or three), but there has really never been a dish I didn't like. Considering the price of individual drinks, you may as well get the unlimited mimosa deal as well. With the dimly lit dining areas, the ambiance can be very romantic for dinner, but the brunch crowd is pretty lively.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMPing pong was recommendedPing pong was recommended to me by the senior Vice President of my company and BOY am I glad he did! The food was outstanding. We left feeling satisfied, not overly stuffed or like we were swimming with MSG like
Normal Chinese food places. The atmosphere was amazingly hip and had such a cool vibe. It was our first time dining there and we will definitely be back!!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThe atmosphere was great asThe atmosphere was great as usual and the service was pretty good. The quality of the dim sum was not as good as in the past. They were out of a lot of items, on a Saturday night no less, and several of the items we ordered were oversteamed.
The char sui bun still remains one of my favorites...definitely worth a try!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food, great service.Good food, great service. Plenty of noise and energy for our family of five. Fun experience for those new to Dim Sum.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMJust LOVE Ping Pong! The foodJust LOVE Ping Pong! The food was fantastic and the service, impecable! We have multiple food allergies in our family and our waiter went above and beyond to accomodate food choices! He was so tentative but not overly so, and always there to service us quickly! So delicious! We will be back!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food!I was seated right away even though my party was not at the restaurant yet. Wine was excellent. We had the char sui bun, duck and five spice dumpling, scallops and shiitake dumpling and the spicy black sesame seed and vegetable dumpling. It was fantastic! The waiter was very nice and friendly. It was not too crowded on a Saturday night (St. Patrick's) so you could talk and hear the person in front of you. Needless to say, I had a great experience.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the whole experience.Loved the whole experience. The food was amazing and very authentic to dim sum with a great twist. The bbq pork buns were outstanding! We had a blast.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
