A word from Ping Pong Dim Sum - 7th Street
Serving up irresistible Dim Sum, innovative cocktails, and luxurious Chinese teas, Ping Pong Chinatown is a vibrant location to enjoy Dim Sum with a twist. The cosmopolitan restaurant boasts a dim sum bar, sunken dining room great for large groups, and a buzzing cocktail bar with award-winning libations.

Offering a wide range of Asian treats, the sleek Ping Pong restaurants pay homage to the ancient traditions of Chinese tea houses. With a big choice of dumplings and steamed buns, the Ping Pong menu also offers an array of "big-small plates", all Chinese tapas style.

As well, there are plenty of familiar Chinese delicacies, with spring rolls, soup dumplings, and hearty dishes like our hoi sin duck bao sliders. For dessert, try Ping Pong’s roasted banana and chocolate spring roll or the ice cream filled rice pastry, mochi, and finish with a lively Ping Pong cocktail or soothing Oriental tea.

Coming from Taiwan where there is also a lot of Dim Sum restaurants, I'd say that Ping Pong offer the food to my home taste. Glad to know that there is a brunch time and would like to try unlimited Dim Sum brunch the next time!

Love the dim sum at Ping Pong. Great selection. Went before a Capitals' Game for dinner. Not too busy. Service efficient. I little on the expensive side, but high quality food. Next time I may try the bar for happy hour food offered at the same time. Have dines at Ping Pong on 3 previous occassions and will go back.

Food was delicious, there were 5 of us and we ordered 10 different items to share and each had cocktails. Nothing that we did not like food wise, however once all of our dishes were delivered we did not see our waitress until we physically had to flag her down....we all wanted another round of drinks but opted not after having to wait such a long time, decided to get our check while we had her attention. She was very nice, just less attentive than expected.

I stumbled upon Ping Pong one day after the gym. Decided to give it a try and it's one of my favorite restaurants in DC. The dim sum is pricey but amazing, and the bottomless mimosa brunch is fun with a group of friends, especially as you try the different juice flavor combinations with your champagne.

Our party of four very much enjoyed our Brunch but the real stand out was the way the place was run. Brunch is fixed price with two options and everyone at the table must choose the same option. Both options are great and this is really not much of a problem. However, one person in our group was not feeling well and asked to just sit with us and a cup of tea. After checking with the manager the request was gladly approved and our ill friend was treated with great care and attention by our server. All around a wonderful way to spend a Sunday.

Arrived at 7pm on a Saturday night. The restaurant was busy but not packed. Very poor service. We waited 55 minutes before our appetizers arrived. The bar was VERY slow (....25 minutes before drinks arrived). Ordered an apricot margarita which was fantastic! Ordered a second one but it arrived looking very different. When I questioned the waiter he informed me the bar ran out of puree. This made me question the integrity of the restaurant. Food was mediocre. Won't go back...

Found Ping Pong after quick Open Table search for nearby restaurants. Great food with cool ambiance. It was quite loud inside but it leant itself to good energy. The only detractor from rating was our server was mostly absent. It may have just been our server so I would not say to stay away.

be sure to avoid sitting near the open kitchen -- our group was so hot that that the experience was very uncomfortable. maybe that would be nice in the depths of wintre, but it was too much in general. the noise level is more like a bar scene than a restaurant. also the food is far too pricey for dim sum.

Some of the items were excellent (hoi sin duck bao sliders, bursting soup dumplings), but others were either too bland (chicken and napa cabbage potstickers) or really bad (in the crispy beef with with citrus soy sauce, the beef strips tasted like shoe laces; the seafood dumplings were way overcooked, making the coating too dry and tough). The desserts we tried (chocolate sesame donuts, mochi ice cream) were very tasty.

My husband had gone to Ping Pong before on a previous visit to DC and was on a mission to go back there. We are both vegetarians and were really impressed by the dining options for us. That being said, though, if you're vegetarian, the $23 lunch menu is a better deal for you because there is a ton of food (pretty much everything we ordered) and well priced.

Ping Pong in Chinatown is very cool chic spot, my boyfriend and I went on a Saturday evening, first off the staff were very helpful as Ping Pong specializes in dumplings it can be a little daunting to look at a menu with so many selections but, out server/bartender was there with great recomendations for food and beverage and all were on point. I don't think we had a single subpar dish, Neil our tender also recommended a nice Sake` to compliment our dish and even got us to stay for dessert which we did not regret all in all a great experience we shall return!

We've eaten at Ping Pong a few times and love their food. Most recently we went there for a special night out with our two teenagers. The sampler for four is great, provided everyone wants to eat - we had a picky adolescent so brought some home. Not typically a family place, but not unfriendly to kids especially older ones. My fifteen year old son loves it, as do my husband and I. Never had a bad meal and the drinks are yummy. Prices a bit steep for every day but worth it for an occasion.

...but the service was a little off. Went here for Restaurant Week in DC, but the waitress was not very knowledgeable about how we should order. Three of the four dim sum courses came out at the same time. They apologized and gave us free glasses of champagne, but it was overwhelming and got cold fast. Maybe if we had not gone for the Restaurant Week Menu this would have happened? Also the chairs have no backs or cushions, so if you are there for a long meal you might need to get up and walk around a bit.

The food took a little while to come out, but it was pretty good when it did. It was a really bustling lunch scene, so I'm not docking them too much for being a little slow, and the waitress continued to check up on us while we were waiting. I like that they have a pre fixe menu, so you get to try a bunch of different things. All in all, I plan a return visit to try some more! Very delicious.

I went here for dinner with the lab I intern for, after attending a professional convention together. We had made a reservation for 20, but only about 13 of us showed up, which they were very understanding about. However, they seemed entirely under prepared for the large reservation we had informed them was coming and tried to put us at 2 separated round tables, so instead we all squeezed into one. The food was good but a bit too expensive for what was essentially 3 little hors d'oeuvres a plate. Nonetheless, it was fun.
