First visit to Pineapple grill. Place was easy to find. Service was good, but food was disappointing. I had Mahi-mahi, which I think had been frozen and thawed before cooking and had no taste.

Loved it when it was the Grille at the Bay Club years ago. While the staff was quite friendly, it was just awkward in general for some reason. The pasta special outweighed the fish 10:1 which seems very wrong in Maui. We won't be returning.

Had been here numerous times over the past 10 years but none in the last four. This trip the food was just barely OK and the service matched. They ran out of a signature mahi dish and we were there at 6:30. Disappointing

Do not arrive early for your reservation. We were four minutes early and were informed by the hostess that we would have to wait. The restaurant was fairly empty. We have never been greeted like this before. The restaurant has a new chef and he had removed most of the best dishes from the menu including its signature lobster bisque. Very disappointed

We have been dining here for many years. The food and service is not the same. Not sure what has happened, but I think we will take a break from PG. It is way overpriced for what is delivered. Very disappointed, because we have loved this restaurant and have sent many, many friends here. This was our second time dining here in a week. We thought the first evening was just an off night. Sadly, nothing improved. Hope they can get it together.

Party of 4 arrived at 7, our reservation time.only 12 of 40plus tables occupied.employees seemed void of Aloha. Had nice wine fairly priced, and then didn't see server for20 minutes. I ordered seared Ahi, very good. 2 ordered Ribeye, looked more like and tasted more like sirloin. Other diner ordered 2 fish special. Meals arrived in another 45 minutes. Fish meal was dry and veggies cold. No one said anything including Manager or server. We spoke earlier to manager when he presented bottle of wine. Nice fellow but didn't have a sense of poor service and pulse of restaurant. Other tables experienced same. Have dined there for 20 years, with good results. Not this time. No one approached us for comments ,another bottle of wine or slow service.

Food, service and ambience were excellent. But, on a $200+ dinner for two they should not have imposed a $2 "sharing" charge when we shared a salad. It was so out of character that it distracted from what should have been a wonderful experience.

Our meals from Pineapple Grill were the best food we had on Maui. The ingredients were high-quality and the preparations were stunning. Save room for dessert, the pineapple upside down cake is a must. Our server was very knowledgeable and was able to make several suggestions to accomodate my dietary restrictions. The only down side was the slightly stuffy atmosphere as the restaurant is on a golf course.

Familiar with Cohen group from San Diego and was looking forward to dining here. Food is average and overpriced. Had scallops appetizer (2 scallops) for $19. Should have been spectacular but alas average. Peanut sauce for sauté needed more kick to it. Waitress was doing her best but she was also assigned to a wedding reception on patio. Poor staffing decision by management. Lots of good restaurants on west Maui so go elsewhere. In short the experience was disappointing.

We dropped in late on a Sunday afternoon and had an amazing meal. Went back the following Friday and ordered pretty much the same things. It just wasn't as good on Friday. The crispy sushi roll is pretty amazing. I typically don't eat desserts but my son ordered the pineapple cake and I ate far more of it than the little taste I promised I would take.

Have enjoyed many good meals here over past several years, but our antenna should have gone up when the waiter told us they stopped lighting the tiki torches out back to cut costs. Really? And the Dow Jones is over 17,000. The prime rib was anything but prime, not even convinced it was a rib roast. The lamb chops could have been good if they had a decent cut of meat. The coconut lobster bisque is still good, but the lobster meat cost extra. But of course. We have a many friends from the mainland that eat here based on our recommendation and I plan on letting them know about that "cost cutting measures" are in effect! We won't be back until someone can convince us otherwise. Too bad, always liked the place before.

This place is incredible. Seriously underrated online. Food was PHENOMENAL! Our waiter was attentive but not pushy which is always appreciated. My husband and I absolutely loved Pineapple Grill. The food is to die for. We were seated at a table overlooking the course with views of the oceans. And the Mai Tai's we ordered when we first sat down were great.

We enjoyed our dinner with a lovely view. The blue crab monchong (sic) was delicious! The ribeye was excellent. We had the creme brûlée for dessert. Would order it all again! A bit pricey, but not disappointed! I would recommend highly. We arrived right when they opened. At first, a few bar patrons were loud, but once the restaurant was a bit busy, romantic and scenic.

We had an excellent meal at Pineapple Grill. It came highly recommended by friends of ours who had been 5+ years ago, and I thought it was excellent. As with many places on Maui, it did feel overpriced for what we got, and we did eat other places that were just as good; but, that being said, we did really enjoy it.

We were very disappointed with the quality of the food. For example, the chicken was tough, the pasta was overlooked and obviously spent too much time under warmer or heat lamp, and other dishes were equally disappointing. The service was mediocre and rushed. With so many great restaurants in the area I don't know how this place survives.

Overall, the food, service and atmosphere was the best we experienced on Maui. Although other restaurants have better views of a beach or water, this restaurant has a great view of the golf course and the bay (sunset) in the distance. It also had had more variety in the menu and the presentation was excellent. My wife, who doesn't enjoy sea food, ordered a delicious beef short rib that made her very happy. And I give thumbs up to the bar!

We had a great lunch at Pineapple Grill. My Cajun blackened mahi sandwich was awesome. The French fries are done perfectly. My husband and son also thoroughly enjoyed their sandwich and burger here. The drinks are good (lava flow and bloody mary). The service is also very good. The views of the Maui mountain with the Kapalua breezes can't be beat. We will definitely come back on our next Maui visit.

I read of numerous awards given the Pineapple Grill and made reservations before coming to the island. Although the setting was beautiful and the service attentive, the food did not live up to expectations. The Caesar Salad lacked flavor and the bouillabaisse just average. Plenty of fresh seafood, but the broth was nothing special. Finally, the flour less chocolate cake seemed undercooked. Ours was not a bad experience, but it was disappointing nonetheless.
