Pine Tavern RestaurantHappy dinerWe loved the restaurant with its view of the Deschutes River and its very famous pine tree. The ambience in the Garden Room was good with very little noise. Our waiter was very friendly and very informative of the foods and their specialties of the night, We had a large group and he treated all of us with the individual attention had we been a smaller group. The Steelhead was excellent. We used to live in Bend 20 years ago, and dining at Pine Tavern was always for special occasions. This is the first time we have dined there since we have had our 6 year old little girl. I was so impressed with their menu for her. She loved her food, which makes my dining experience so much easier. My husband and I totally enjoyed our meals too. And then when the bill came, and they said my daughter's meal was free, with the purchase of our meals, it was the topping to the experience. It was a completely wonderful Mother's Day meal and I am so glad we were traveling through!!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMMothers Day WeekendI made a reservation over a week in advance. Upon arrival the hostesses seemed confused and it took them too long to figure things out. Pretty simple in my opinion....6:30 p.m. reservation and I specifically requested a window table and the first attempt was a table in the middle of the room. Not sure how much experience these ladies have in the restaurant industry but when a customer requests a reservation that far in advance and a window table there should be no question. Disappointed in the overall offerings of the menu-not enough reasonable choice. The menu is in danger of being priced out of the range of upper-middle-class people such as our selves. A 32 dollar steak should at least include a salad. I had the New York steak; it was good but not excellent for that price. I would give it an 85 out of 100. You are competing with many other restaurants that have similar menus but with much greater choice and often better value. These are tough times. Your restaurant is attempting to move up to a level of gourmet dining that may not be practical for today's family dining.
