Our only regret is not finding this place sooner. We have fallen in love with the quality of the food, the family atmosphere, the "smallness" of the place - the veal chop is the best in OC; the homemade buttersquash ravioli with sausage is fantantic - even the house salad is fresh, crisp with a lovely dressing - and save room for desserts as they are terrific here. Last night I had linguini with clams, shrimp and sausage in a white wine garlic sauce that was terrific (not on the menu, but, as always, they were happy to make it).

Pina's Bistro is always a great small neighborhood restaurant for great Italian food. Order anything with the homemade sausage, you won't be disappointed. Anything on the chalkboards of specials will be fabulous. Family run and staffed, they will treat you like family. Deserts are homemade and always yummy. My wife and I use this as our go-to restaurant. I take business associates when we want a casual unpretentious environment and good food. Occasionally, a large crowd will overwhelm the staff but be patient, the food will be worth it.

This place never disappoints. Wonderful food. I had a wonderful pasta with basil and fresh sausage in a creamy tomato sauce. My wife had chicken ravioli with a spicy tomato sauce. We were both served prior to that with a wonderful fresh salad. The wine list is limited but the selections were good. We had a wonderful Pinot Noir. Dessert was a white Chocolate gelato.

Loved our dinner. Food--spot on. Not trying to be fancy/trendy. Everything freshly prepared and flavorful. Mama Pina and her daughters make this a personalized dining experience. Loved talking with Pina after our dinner and getting to know her background, influences, and commitment to her food and to her guests. Had been trying to find a place that felt like a small Italian restaurant we used to frequent when we lived in Los Feliz/Silver Lake. This is it!

Service was very slow. Staff were very attentive to what I would describe as "regulars." While we understood the family dynamic - with the two daughters serving, the waitress never bothered to take our drink order. We had to flag her down to order something. It appeared unless you were a regular patron, you would not get much attention.

What a great little restaurant. Pina herself along with her daughters make everything fresh and they make it tasty. Southern Italian authentic and healthy. The sausage is sumptuous, the Gnocci fluffy and the veal voluptuous.

We went to this restaurant after reading great reviews on Open Table. I was disappointed with the food and service which were average, but it was expensive for average food and service. The server who took our order, had to ask who ordered each dish as it was brought to the table.

We have loved coming here for years. It is like a comfortable dining room in a friends home with Mom cooking and her Daughters serving. The food is always fantastic and Pina goes out of her way to please you. Her grilled Veal chop is the best and she knows I like the addition of Mushrooms. We have eaten her since they opened and keep returning. Great with friends as you are able to talk without having to shout.

Pina's Bistro has the finest Italian cuisine I've ever eaten! The tomato sauce is so savory and beautifully herbed, while not having an acidic aftertaste so common today. From the time we were first seated to the time the server picked up the payment, we were there 2-1/2 hours and not by choice. The restaurant had accepted a huge party without putting on additional wait staff, so we sat for a good while with no water, bread or menu. By the time we'd received our less-than-hot food, we'd been there well over an hour. The servers were very friendly, but just couldn't keep up with everything. My food didn't have enough garlic, rendering it fairly blah for my tastes. I've read so many good things about this restaurant that I'm hoping this was an anomaly.

Pina's was recommended by a friend that I respect and I was optimistic and really looking forward to it. I moved to California a few years ago from NJ and it has been a monumental task to find Italian restaurants in Orange County that come close to duplicating the East Coast experience that I so dearly miss. From the minute I walked in and was greeted by one of PIna's daughters, I felt right at home. After looking at the menu and wanting everything on it, I decided to let our server choose and she did not disappoint. The food was outstanding and the family feel made the evening even more enjoyable.

This small restaurant is one of the best if not the best Italian restaurant in Tustin. I had her Veal ravioli and my wife had her sausage and broccolli with angel hair pasta. Both were excellent. Service tends to be a little slow, BUT it is well worth the wait. You can enjoy your meal without any rush. Pins's fresh sausage is always wonderful. Her white chocolate gelato is also great.

Family owed and operated. Our table awaited us upon arrival. As fairly regular guests, we were greeted personally, warmly and quickly served our usual beverages. My husband loves sauteed spinach and he is NOT a veggie eater at all. Next is the salad. OMG, love the dressing and the fresh mixed greens - yum! The veal chop and filet specials are to die for so don't miss the specials on the chalkboard. For more "comfort" type food, the meatballs are a "don't miss". I particularly like the sausage and peas in cream sauce, the sausage is homemade in house by Pina. The bread is excellent and a big part of a good Italian meal.

Pina never disappoints when it comes to delicious homemade Italian food. I don't mind paying $20 for a plate of pasta when it is served hot, el dente, and bursting with flavor. What bothers me is when I make a reservation well in advance, arrive at the agreed upon time and am told there will be a 20 minute wait for my table (no bar or lounge to wait in, mind you, so we're talking about standing out in the parking lot) or else be seated out on the makeshift patio. We chose the patio where we were alternately sweating under the heat lamp or feeling the cold on our feet and backs (metal chairs are cold outside at night). Pina's was overbooked and the diners paid the price. Service was poor and we waited an hour for our first course. So sad!

This restaurant doesn't have enough wait staff. The service was rather slow -- in our case it wasn't a problem because we were on the patio and enjoying the ambiance -- but it took quite a while to even get our salads. The waitress was very friendly and brought extra bread when we asked, as well as a few other condiments (parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes) and she was clearly doing her best to keep up. But an extra waiter or two might have made a big difference. The food was good - not the best I've ever had, but good. Nice patio area with just four or five tables.

This was our first time although this place has been here for years. It's very small - 7 to 8 tables inside and a few outside. The owner Pina is always there. She is very personable & proud of her food. Her daughter, Hannah, was our server. Very nice & a great personality. Some of the pastas are house made as is the sausage. You can make requests. My husband ordered the house made gnocchi with sausage in a red sauce. Very tasty. I had the pasta primavera in a light red garlic sauce, also very good. A very nice cozy place with very good food.
