Pikk's TavernMother's day brunchWe had 9 family members coming from indianapolis and Plymouth to Valparaiso to join in our celebration with grandma who is in a wheel chair. The restuarant is small and we had to wait in a corner for our table for a few minutes but the food and service was well worth it! The brunch cost was $19.99 with an appitizer and desert bar of all you can eat. The main dishes came from a limited menu and were made to order. Everyone got meals they liked from ribs, flat iron steak, Quiche and Salmon to omelet and chopped chichen salad. All presented well and we had a good location by the window so no one had to fit by our grandmother's chair.It was quiet and relaxed. Our group of six was seated quickly, and the staff was tremendous. Our drinks, appetizers and dinner were presented quickly and with smiles. We all had a great dinner, and never felt rushed or forgotten. However, we ordered the Prime rib, and it was pretty tasteless in itself, unless you smothered it in the horseradish sauce it came with. I was quite surprised because I had never had a bad meal here. The garlic mashed potatoes were very dry and stiff as well. Off night maybe? I don't know, but it won't deter us from going back. They have a few menu items that they do very, very well.
