PikayoAnniversary outingWent to Pikayo's for our anniversary dinner. Very good service. Outstanding food. The tables for two are very close together and you have to listen to your neighbors conversation because there is no other alternative. You feel exposed and it really curtails your conversation.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best!Great food and excellent service! One of the best, if not the best in Puerto Rico. Higly recommended. Would definitely come again.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMALWAYS EXCEPTIONAL!!!We have followed and enjoyed Pikayo and Wilo throughout their many venues in Condado. Each location has been a new and exciting treat. From beginning to end, every detail was handled professionally and impeccably. Simply said, they have never disappointed us. It's a "must go!!!"6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways EnjoyableI have had many a wonderful meal at Pikayo, and the staff are always a pleasure. It is on the more expensive end, but so long as you are comfortable with that going in, you should have a great experience. The dessert souffles (chocolate and cheese/guava) are spectacular...if you are a dessert person, definitely consider giving the souffles a try.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb * SpecialOne of the finest meals we have experienced anywhere.
My wife had the classic tasting, and I was encouraged to create my own tasting ... their flexibility to accommodate was awesome, and I wish all restaurants could make you feel this special as a guest.
Every plate & bite were perfect, no exaggeration.
Quail, Tuna Tartare, Octopus, Foie Gras, Burrata, Scallop Ravioli, Tomato Salad, Shrimp/Polenta, Petit Fillet, mini soufflés. (do NOT miss the cheese soufflé)
The menu is large enough that we could have done 3 more tastings & not repeat a dish.
We travel to L.A., NYC, New Orleans, Vegas, etc. and make it a point to seek out great restaurants:
Pikayo just jumped to the top of our list. Go. Enjoy!5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMA Foodie Restaurant in NYCPikayo is a romantic restaurant with views overlooking the ocean and a perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. We stay at La Concha for my wife's 30th birthday and the restaurant was in walking distance. The service is excellent and the view is beautiful. Get there around 7p and you can see the sunset. We both did the tasting menu and they were accommodating to my wife's allergies. The food was good - not overly amazing, but it's certainly worth it of you're looking for a fancier night in PR. One thing to note: they charge $2/person for bottled water and don't really give you the option to ask for tap. If you want tap, make sure you say something before they start pouring the Evian. For 2 people, plan to spend at least $200 total.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Food!We were tired of our hotel food so we decided to venture out and we are SO glad we found out about Pikayo. The food was wonderful, the staff was friendly and attentive. A definite MUST for anyone going to the San Juan area!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, nice atmosphereReally enjoyed Pikayo. My wife and I went there for dinner while on our honeymoon and the food was excellent, the atmosphere was modern, stylish, and vibrant. Dishes are a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Highly recommend it.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb dining experienceHubbie and I went there for special night out. Arrived before 7 which gave us a chance to see the beautiful view of the ocean and palm trees. We were seated immediately by friendly attentive staff. Blueberry gazpacho amouse Bouche was delicious. Decided on prix fix, I did the Puerto Rican and hubby the classic. Every single dish was delicious. There was not one of the combined 12 dishes sampled that was not out of this world. Highly recommend this place. It is expensive but worth it.
Service was also great5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing! It was a great experience. It was recommended to us by a friend for our wedding anniversary and boy was she right! Food and service was spectacular. Though we were a bit baffled by the miniature sized appetizers the taste was great! Would definitely return.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMPikayo continues to be PuertoPikayo continues to be Puerto Rico's prime restaurant with outstanding service, great ambiance and most important superb food.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMBest overall dining experience everHands down the best dining experience of my life. We got the tasting menu - she ordered the classic and I got the puertorican one. Both were out of this world! Tuna tartare with green caviar and jalepenos and miso sauce was to die for. Corned beef over plantain with fricasse sauce was tantalizing- I wanted to lick the plate but refrained. Service was on point- very organized and methodical. Food came out with perfect timing and we each had 5 different dishes - each 1 seemed to be served at exactly the right time. 10 different dishes total between the 2 of us- each 1 packed with flavor and cooked masterfully- when we thought it couldn't get any better, it did. Over and over again. 5 stars is not high enough for this place.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent anniversary celebration! We celebrated our first wedding anniversary here and it could not have been a more perfect evening! We were greated with champagne and that was only the beginning of a wonderful evening. From the appetizers to the suffle, everything was amazing!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMHoneymoonOur first stop in Puerto Rico and the food was amazing! Our only problem was that the two tables on both sided of us who ordered after us got their food first. After waiting for about 25- 30 minutes we asked our server if he knew how much longer. He gave a blank and walked off. We then waited, while the tables next to us moved on to dessert. A gentlemen was walking around asking people how their experience experience was. whoever that man was seem to light a fire under our server and he came over and told us our food would be out in just a moment. Although two tables seated after us were served before us and our food took about 45 to 50 minutes; this was an amazing honeymoon dinner.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGood but expensiveI think you could get a better value somewhere else, but the food was definitely amazing if you want to splurge.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMClassy RestaurantNot the best place for vegetarians but a beautiful, classy restaurant.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMSpectacular!Amazing experience. Great food, ambiance and overall experience!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGood foodThe place has good food, but I think a little expensive for what it is. Only recommended for special ocassions.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and service.Excellent food and service. Food presentation was spectacular! Would recommend highly! Get there early enough to enjoy the view if seated near the windows.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfection! We absolutely loved this restaurant.
A friend from home (NYC) suggested that we try it. We were initially "put off" because of the loud casino across the hall but once inside the restaurant everything was perfect.
After dinner my world-traveler, food-loving husband announced that he had NEVER eaten more perfectly prepared fish in his life. The sommelier, Javier, was genius and his suggested wine pairings made everything taste even better.
Everything we had was amazing. I can highly recommend.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe just dined here for ourWe just dined here for our wedding night. We were more than pleased. The dinner was amazing as well as the service. My husband had the tasting menu and I ordered a la carte. I think that was a good way to go so you can try a little of everything. The tuna tartars are a must as well as the froie gras and the Soufflés. And a wonderful wine list as well as a staff that is very passionate about what they do.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMIt doesn't get better than Pikayo.Incredible service, food and atmosphere. It is number 1 on my list of restaurants in Puerto Rico.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMCelebrated my engagement here,Celebrated my engagement here, wonderful experience and great food with decent serving portions.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWow, what an amazing evening!Wow, what an amazing evening! Great food and ambience.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAn enjoyable evening at PikayoWe asked to sit by the window to get a nice view and booked the earliest time (6:30PM) just to make sure they will have the table available. We really wanted to order the tasting menu, but we never had foie gras and weren't sure if we'd like it, so we just ordered from the menu. We ended up getting the scallop ravioli and mushroom risotto as appetizers; sea bass with asparagus and large shrimp with mashed root as entree, and a combo of chocolate and cheese soufflé. The mushroom risotto, although on the salty side, was really good. The sea bass was also cooked perfectly and was buttery. We also liked the soufflé which you should order with your meal. I thought the chocolate one was better than the cheese one.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMHappy to return!I was at Pikayo 20 years ago when it was located in Old San Juan. I had a business project that took up most of a year and Pikayo was our "go to" spot for a great meal when we were in San Juan.
My memory wasn't disappointed, and in fact, Pikayo was better than I remembered! The menu was always great for fresh, inventive seafood and via the Puerto Rican Tasting Menu, we weren't disappointed. The shrimp and whitefish (whose name I don't remember) were standouts. The beef entrees were also great and the cheese flan desert was spectacular.
Service was top notch - as good as I've experienced. I hope I have a reason to return in less than 20 years!4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWhile the food was great,While the food was great, the service was poor. The waiter did not pay attention to us, and never came back to check on us after the food arrived. He was not very helpful when we asked questions about the menu either, as there is a tasting menu and we were unsure of some of the items. The restaurant is in a beautiful location with a great view and the food is great. High quality service should be expected.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMamazing food, but atmosphereamazing food, but atmosphere is kind of "sterile" white and really dislike shared booth set up when your conversation is listened to by those next to you.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe selected Pikayo for ourWe selected Pikayo for our 20th wedding anniversary celebration dinner and were not disappointed. The food was excellent with lovely use of local ingredients (the fois gras was the best I've ever had); presentation was excellent. Chef Benet made a stop at our table which was a treat. Service was good but not on par with other restaurants of this caliber...although it was a Tuesday night. Highly recommended.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food.. The menu is veryGreat food.. The menu is very diverse and most dishes sound as though they would be great. We had The beef carpaccio and Tuna Tartar.. Both were very good. My fiance had a pasta appetizer and I had the swordfish entree. Both were delicious and the appetizer portion was the perfect size for my Fiance as an entree. Our server was very good but, could have been more personable or engaging but, we had an assistant server who was very fun to talk to and interact with. He made up for the lack of personality of our waiter.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMPiyako is a must restaurantPiyako is a must restaurant while visiting San Juan. It is a modern, beautiful restaurant with a very attentive staff.I took my teenage daughter and we both enjoyed the special appetizers if the day, cheese empanadas and roast beef sliders. The owner came over and thanked us for coming. Just not appropriate for young children.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was fantastic.Everything was fantastic. I highly recommend the tasting menu and the cheese souffle with guava sauce is a MUST!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent rest., food phenomenal.Excellent rest., food phenomenal.
Impeccable service.
Would highly recommend to anyone who appreciates great food.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely fabulous! One ofAbsolutely fabulous! One of the top restaurants in Puerto Rico! Remarkable service and great food!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMI had the Puerto Rican TastingI had the Puerto Rican Tasting Menu and the Truffle Empanadas. It was delicious. The empanadas were my least favorite, a little to bland/one note. The bacalao was perfectly cooked, the corned beef pionono was my favorite dish of the evening.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding food and service,Outstanding food and service, although a bit pricey. Desserts are overwhelmingly sweet.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous, we always go hereFabulous, we always go here when we visit San Juan.
The borata with caviar was truly memorable.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best dining experiencesI've been traveling to PR for 7 years on business and had the best dining experience here at Pikayo. We ate late, around 9pm and the restaurant was still busy but not crowded. We the atmosphere is refined and quiet, very very nice for a romantic or business dinner. Service was excellent. We had the tasting menu and the matching wines. The chef not only did an outstanding job with the preparation, but the pairing of foods and wines made both taste better. Dinner for the two of us with tip was $266; a bit high for PR but certainly worth the splurge while you are on the Island.2/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing! One of the most enjoyable and outstanding dining experiences anywhere at any price! Simply fantastic.2/6/2013 12:00:00 AMPikayo - an outstanding experienceIn my opinion Pikayo is the best fine dining restaurant in Puerto Rico. There are many very good restaurants in San Juan, where one can enjoy an excellent dinner, but no other can provide the combination of outstanding levels of food and service, as Pikayo does. Highly recommended.1/5/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of Our Favorites on the IslandWe had a five course tasting menu selected by the manager Carlos Nieves and chef Wilo Benet. We were in heaven. The dishes were the most flavorful, beautifully presented plates throughout the evening. We had all seafood dishes and I have to say we were excited to see what was coming out next. The freshest ingredients with the most delicious flavor profiles, as good as if not better than the best restaurants in NYC. The waitstaff was on point, anticipating our every need without being intrusive. We will certainly return in March when we come back to Puerto Rico. A very memorable evening. Thank you Pikayo!!12/12/2012 12:00:00 AM
