Although the food, service and food prices at Pig and Finch were fine, there are significant problems. First, it is too, too dark. Diners throughout the restaurant were having to use the light from their phones to read the menu. Why would an establishment want to make it this difficult for guests to order? Second, the feeling of the restaurant is very crowded. Tables are barely large enough for four place settings and an appetizer serving plate. Third, the printing on the wine list was miniscule. Between the darkness and the tiny type, it was basically impossible to read the wine list. Fourth, there were no reasonably priced bottles of wine. $40 was the minimum. That is a bit pricey for the "pub" atmosphere they tout. Finally, although the establishment is described as a "gastropub", the diner needs to focus on the pub portion of the title. It was difficult to hear the wait staff when they came to the table. I hope Pig and Finch chooses to make some changes so that their culinary skills can shine through the distractions. As it stands now, we will not be making a return trip.

I have been 3 times. The menu is outstanding (It looks like it anyway-I am so addicted to the pulled pork grilled cheese that I haven't gotten around to trying anything else!) I had raved about it to my two friends so we were there for a birthday celebration. YOu exceeded their expectations. Tahnks

This was not our first time at Pig and Finch. However it was our first time dining with a group and at a busy time (7:30 on a Friday night). We were seated 15 minutes after our reservation. Our service was very disorganized. It was never clear who are server was. We sat for nearly 20 minutes before being offered a drink. The assistant manager began helping serve our table with our wine selection - and said that our waiter was new and apologized - but then disappeared. It is unacceptable to place someone on the floor who is not properly trained. I don't blame the server - I blame management. One of the diner's meals was late (obviously missed on the order). The food was good - but the whole evening took almost 2 1/2 hours.

What should have been an hour long dinner turned into three... It took about 35 minutes for server to take our order. Then 45 minutes after that they came and told us that they were out of 1 of the meals we ordered. Then it was about 45 minutes from then that we actually got our food. Food was delicious, atmosphere was great... service not so great.

I had the privilege of having mussels three times last week; Chandler AZ, Temecula CA and at the Pig & Finch in Leawood. It's because the mussels here are so good that I do try them elsewhere. Honestly, the mussels elsewhere were half the size and had nowhere near the flavor these have. Always an excellent choice. Two of us had the farm hen, which was so tender and flavorful. My wife always gets the trout and is always very happy. The other dinner was the espresso-rubbed pork shoulder, which was fantastic. It was accompanied by the best presentation of roasted butternut squash I've ever tasted. Overall a fantastic meal.

We went to Pig & Finch for our 25th anniversary and had a fantastic night. When I made the reservation, I asked for a nice table since it was our anniversary, which we got, and every person, including the manager, wished us a happy anniversary. Not only was the service great, but the food was amazing. They even had a card on the table when we arrived thanking us for spending our evening with them. I highly recommend going if you haven't and we can't wait to go again.

I loved Pig & Finch Gastropub. The charcuterie plate was one of the best I have ever had. The short rib grilled cheese served with tomato soup and the gnocchi were both excellent, and it was great that you could order a 1/2 portion of the gnocchi, it was MORE than enough. I loved the variety the menu offered, anything from a burger to a nice piece of fish or pasta. Our server was knowledgeable and enthusiastic and made some excellent recommendations. We will definitely be going back soon!

We had dinner with friends and our two kids - the chef brought our daughter's meal out to her, came back to check on her during the meal, and made her a special dessert. He made our daughter and the rest of us feel like he truly wanted us there, kids or not! Impressed with the food (my duck was perfectly prepared) and the extra service we were given. One of our diners is gluten/soy free and she loved her meal as well as everyone else. Waitress was also great. My only regret was not tipping more. I recommend everyone try Pig & Finch! We will be returning.

A restaurant for food, comfort and conversation. Staff - Attentive but not intrusive; Food - Unique & Delicious; Ambiance - Warm, Inviting and Intimate Bacon Marmalade - appropriate mix of savory & sweet; Mussels - unique beer, tomato & garlic sauce; Gnocchi - almost traditional; Blackened Shrimp flatbread - shrimp flavor hidden. Greeted by hostess and seated immediately. Table was warm, appropriate mix of comfort and light and not crowded by another. Staff was attentive but not pushy as if the table were ours. Chef approached to inquire about the food and was genuinely interested, not pro forma. Quiet fit for conversation in intimate tones. We highly recommend for casual dining and conversation!

Depending on where you are sitting in the restaurant, you can see directly into the kitchen. the menu is small but covers all food categories (starters, salads, sandwiches, entrees, desserts). First time at P&F, and not our last. The menu, bar, wait staff, kitchen and plates were all in synch. Our server was polished. The menu offerings were diverse and ambitious. Our two inventive cocktails were very enjoyable. Our mains, gnocchi and cassoulet were exceptionally good. The flavorful cassoulet suprisingly so, with slightly crisp cannellini beans (just as they should be -- I prepare this dish myself) accompanied by generous duck confit and sausage. We were late diners and I imagine P&F gets quite energetic with a full house. We'll be back.

The beautiful weather called for a light dinner on the patio. We started with the oven dried Roma tomato flatbread with our wine. Though that was great, the main reason we came was for the mussels, simply the best we've had. Ordered extra grilled bread to sop up every last bit of broth. We've had dinner here as well several times, and the food has been fantastic every single time.

Not sure how long the restaurant has been open but when we arrived for dinner on Sunday there were only a handful of tables (outside) being occupied. I had tried the restaurant at lunch which was much busier and enjoyed my entree but Sunday dinner was another experience. The service was outstanding both times and the restaurant decor was very nice. The only negative is they need to clean the cushions on the patio furniture. I tired the fried chicken on Sun and it was fair. The breading was thick and in some places under cooked inside. The chicken was well seasoned. The major flaw was with the green beans and mash potatoes. It would have be better to have steamed beans and not sure what they did to the potatoes but they mimicked glue.
