Personal touch.....................5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSurprise FindWhen you drive by this restaurant and see it on a major street through the City of Lodi you think that it would be loud due to traffic and smelly due to exhaust fumes. Could not be farther from the truth. The interior is far better than what you see on the internet. It is open, airy and inviting. The outdoor space is an unexpected hideaway from the busy interior of the dining room. Quiet and intimate at each table. They have done a good job shading the seating out there too and with the water feature it is a wonderful place to dine. The salads were fresh and delicious. The ravioli were traditional and not overly done. This was a take chance lunch experience. the food is always fresh, and it is quite obvious that the owners are very meticulous about creating an Italian flair... the beautifully kept kitchen gardens outside, as well as a refrigerated glass enclosed cooling space with imported salami, smoked ham and other smoked goodies, direct from Italy...
With attention to detail combined with great service it is not a surprise, that this restaurant is always busy!
The food was a little slow, because it was a busy night (I think it was prom night)... but it was easy to bridge the time with delicious home baked bread and a large wine list... my favorite restaurant!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA great place to go for ItalianFood was very good. Pietro's has some of the best Italian food I've ever had. Delicious food made with fresh ingredients from their on site garden. From the moment you walk into Pietro's you feel like you're at a friend's for dinner. Everyone was very friendly and we had excellent service. I couldn't decide on what to have so ordered the pasta trio which came with lasagna, "Nettie's ravioli" and spaghetti with pesto. Absolutely delicious! Fresh bread was amazing; olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping but also comes with butter if that is your preference. The service and food were very good. One person in our group was a vegetarian and asked about the ingredients in a couple of their dishes. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the contents of the dish and the sauce. Portions were very generous. On arrival, Greg (consistently) greets customers with a refreshingly upbeat attitude. In my view, upon entering a restaurant, first impression sets the tone and Greg meets customer expectations. Service is very good along w/ staffs attention personal hygiene & appearance. Menu offers excellent choices, food consistent and hot on arrival. Atmosphere fantastic! Noise level is high during peak times, but minor issue to most customers. It's noticed that Jimmy keeps an eye on the pulse of the restaurant and often pauses for a moment chatting with customers. Love everything on the menu. The bread they serve before the meal is always fresh out of the oven and the garlic butter spread is wonderful. Great lemon drop and chocolate martinis. The chopped antipasti salad is great. The wait staff is friendly and attentive.
