Diner Reviews
  • "We ordered fried clams for our 2 Boston natives. They loved them! The clams have bellies, not just strips. Then we ordered the quatro fromageo white pizza, the margarita pizza and the prosciutto & arugula pizza. All were delicious. Our only complaint was that the staff was so busy it was hard to flag so done down to get a beer. All in all, it was great."

  • "Nice experience. Pizza was good, I thought the wine was expensive for the cheaper labels they had. I would like a better wine list."

  • "Food and service was very good but full of unruly children which made it very loud--would not return"

  • "If you want good food, be it Italian or not, and be on El Paseo, this is the place to go."

  • "Pizza is great, service is fast. Place was packed but service still fast. Prices very good. Explains why there was a long wait for tables when we left"

  • "On our last visit, I ordered the Rigatoni with Mussels and Clams. When the dish arrived, it had about 12 noodles, plenty of clams and mussels and an overwhelming bowl full of sauce. I questioned the server who said this is the way the chef always prepares this dish. I suggested that they state in the menu that this entree is mussels, clams, sauce and a little rigatoni. Also suggested that they provide a spoon so that a person could partake in all the sauce (which was more like a broth). You can only eat so much bread to soak all this up. We have eaten at this restaurant several times and have always enjoyed the experience. The other three people ordered something else and were very pleased. Bob"

  • "best most authentic pizza in the valley. stick with that."

  • "We dined on the patio, which is far enough from the roadway to provide a quiet dining experience while still getting to experience the ambiance. The tuna and burratta appetizers were excellent, as was the "tuscan" wedge salad. The baked ziti was solid. The wine list has numerous beers on tap and wines by the glass, including some very good Italian producers (Moretti beer on tap plus whites and reds from Italy). Service was very friendly and efficient. The hallmark is the pizza Napolitana. We weren't in the mood for pizza, but what we saw looked very well prepared. We'd go back."

  • "We so enjoyed your Pop Up restaurant at The Tennis Garden during BNP Paribias! I was so pleased with the Gluten Free offerings and the Bard's Gluten Free Beer! My Husband loved the meatballs and had them 3 times as well as our recent visit to El Paso. The new Wine Room was lovely and we enjoyed quieter room for sure! Look forward to having another wonderful meal soon."

  • "Not your 'run of the mill' pizzeria. Good beer and wine specials. All tables were occupied upon our arrival at 7:30PM on a Friday night but we were seated (with reservations) without much of a delay. For a starter we had the "Burrata cheese and oven roasted vine tomatoes " - The cheese was somewhat bland. We ordered a side of bread that came with garlic oil and a pepper-like oil that was good. The bread, which came wrapped like a present, was a small portion for two people to share with the cheese appetizer. We had some trouble deciding which pizza to order as their pizza menu items each had something we weren't fond ot. Rapini??? We ordered "Barabin-Barabum" without the brocolini-like topping Nice flavor but skimpy on the cheese."

  • "If I placed more weight on the fact that we were in Palm Desert rather than a larger city, I might have given this more stars. It's all relative, after all. But the fact is we had pizza 5 days before at Settebello's in Marina del Rey that was more authentically Neopolitan than this was. In fact, we have had better in several other cities. But, and maybe this is the most important point,...not in greater Palm Springs. Which is why I would still recommend it. Just moderate your expectations. Service was very good, by the way. Ambience not so much, but then we were seated in the rear room on this visit. Previously we have sat in the front room and the ambience was better. Try this place for good (but not great) neopolitan pizza."

  • "This was our first visit. We made a reservation for 7:30. When we arrived, we were told by the receptionist that he would need a little time. 15 minutes later, we were still waiting. Luckily, a table opened up in the open seating area by the bar. The Caesar and Tuscan kale salads were good, and the pizza was excellent. It's a happening place, so the noise level in the main dining area is quite high."

  • "But not your usual! We LOVED LOVED LOVED this place. Had the prosciutto and arugula pizza. Get a vodka gimlet and hope you get one of the most awesome patio views on the Indian wells shopping strip. Loved it!"

  • "We went to this restaurant twice- once at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden and once on El Paseo. I have to eat gluten free and they make a great gf crust from scratch. Best I've ever had. The tomato sauce was a little tart, but I did like that. I would highly recommend for those who cannot have wheat- there aren't many places in Palm Desert that make allowances for that."

  • "the food was just average. Knowing who owns the restaurant and their history. Not a big hit. Maybe the Pizza is great. did not have that. the main dining room is cold and dark. noticed they opened up a back room which look better."

  • "Had a lovely dinner with friends on the patio. Love the food, very eclectic menu. The zucchini blossoms are to die for, and the pizza was the best I have eaten with a certain "crunch" to the crust. Will definitely be back.;"

  • "We used to be regulars at this restaurant but the last few times we've not had good food. Could they be under new management or have a new Chef? We will not be going back there anytime soon, two strike's right now. PS: The service was good."

  • "the busy atmosphere seemed to overwhelm the available space and the staff. the cheese baratta as an appetizer needed other dishes to make it work. pizza was good, and was large enough two. toppings were good. recommend making reservations away from the back room. atmosphere in the back room was below average. take out from this restaraunt is an option if you are looking a for a good pizza."

  • "I've eaten here before when the experience was way better. food was just ok. It was so wonderful before. Something off with the lasagna and the pizza was blah. Service was bad. Had to ask for everything. our busboy was the only attentive person. I looked forward to coming back for 4 months but so disappointed."

  • "Incredible pizza. The crust is more on the thin side, but is soft and pliable. The only down side, is they only make one size of pizza. One pizza is just about right for two people. There are no child size pizzas, so you'll likely enjoy some leftovers."

  • "We have enjoyed Pizzavino both times we have been there. The staff is friendly and fun. The food we have had has been very good but not spectacular but few places are. We will return. We really like seating on the patio area."

  • "Excellent thin crust pizza menu.... interesting topping combinations. Extensive wine list. They cook them 90 seconds at 800 degrees! Kale salad was very good. Upscale pizza place. A smaller selection of pasta, but severtoast menu. My husband was pleased with his pasta special, clams on rotini, I think."

  • "This restaurant serves the best, authentic Italian pizza in the valley. The crust is perfect, the toppings are high quality and plentiful and the variations are all that you can ask for. If you love pizza you will love this place. We had the mushroom and burrata pizza and it was to die for. Our friends had the seafood pizza and just raved about it. To top it off, the service is outstanding."

  • "Expansive small bites menu and exceptional selection of "not your routine" pizza combos. Food served hot and service prompt and very friendly. All aspects of this gem in the desert continues to be consistently good and just a really fun place to go."

  • "Excellent thin crust pizza with a relatively large array of toppings to choose from. Noisy when crowded but with a good buzz. Service excellent and friendly. I would like to see more specials but the regular menu does offer limited alternatives to pizza, including some excellent appetizers and salads. The wines are fairly priced as well."

  • "Service was dis appointing. We asked for a non alcoholic beer and was brought an beer with alcohol, had to ask for silverware, additional water and ice tea. Seemed to be understaffed for amount of business. When appetizer came, runner dropped a few pieces on the floor. He took it away and brought us another one right away, but failed to pick up The pieces dropped, so during the dinner server stepped on it and it looked pretty awful by the time we left. Food was great, so that made up for it. I would suggest they pay attention when a request for non alcohol comes their way."
