We were hoping to get a window seat to enjoy the views of Lake Erie, the shoreline, and downtown, but no window seats were available because their policy is "first come, first served" on those tables. We understood that and still were able to secure a table with a good view, but unfortunately it was a bit hazy that evening and the view did not offer a lot to look at anyway. But none of this is a review of the restaurant; the food was excellent and the service was top-notch and prompt. The views of Cleveland are nice if you are lucky enough to get a window seat. They have beautifully renovated the entire restaurant! And the food, better than ever. Our friend was a vegetarian, and found the vegetarian menu to be one of the most extensive and delightful she had ever seen in a non vegetarian restaurant!
The sunset was beautiful, and Jessica our server was top notch.
I would highly recommend for foodies, it was fabulous! (Steak and fish was exceptional! The view of Cleveland, live piano music, and amazing food (everything from eggs benedict to mussles to french toast) have made Pier W our number one must do when friends are in town.
I have yet to do the Piano Bar at night, but I imagine it's just as wonderful. And, please note, although I didn't select Kid-Friendly, they are great with children from all ages from infants to teenagers. Just this past trip my god-daughter was getting a little tired and started to pout and a waiter (not serving us) stopped and cheeried her right back up.

There are many restaurant's that I feel like I am being rushed , but not at Pier W. The only bad thing about the experience was something Pier W had no control over - the weather. The weather was cold (low 40's), blustery and a fog rolled in over the Lake that completely obliterated the viiew of Cleveland's skyline. The food was fantastic, with familiar breakfast items as well as more exotic options (Wild Boar Pate, anyone?) The signature Bouillabaisse was particularly delicious; there is a reason the recipe has remained virtually unchanged since the 1960s. You then have a choice to walk down modern design stairs or take the optional elevator, yes I said elevator, down to the restaurant where we were seated right away (with 8pm reservations). The live musician on the piano was amazing, the food was definitely top notch and the service was exceptional, prices were fair for the experience you get.
