  • Love the resturant but not seating

We went to Pier Cafe for my birthday. I love the Pier Cafe and have been there several times. This time they seated us in the sun on a day when it was over 90 degrees. After our meal was over we realized that there were tables in the air conditioned section but they left us in the heat. I wish the staff had been sensitive to our issues as it was really tough to enjoy the meal. I will go back but this time insist on a better table. Overall though, it's a great restaurant.

The restaurant is not large and noisy. With a relatively quiet dinning experience and a window seat over looking the harbor this makes for a romantic encounter away from the hustle and bustle of the city streets. After dinner a nice stroll on the boardwalk raps up the night.

My husband and I went here to eat directly after our wedding and it was perfect. We had made reservations and were seated quickly. Our waitress provided amazing service and was very outgoing. It took a fairly long time to get our food, but it was worth it because of the service and quality of food. Also, it was very much worth the price.

The view was fantastic the restaurant was beautiful unlike the others around it, but the food was very expensive for the quality of it, plus it was kind of loud and the table behind me was playing games on there phones, it would be a good lunch place but not a place I would go on a date.

I have eaten at the Pier Café numerous times and it is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always great. The view can't be beat. I was a little disappointed with my server, Bernard. There was supposed to be a discount for Comic Con attendees and he knew nothing about that. He did check and I did get my discount; however I think the employees should be aware of any such promotions. I look forward to my next visit to the Pier Café and will use Open Table reservation service once again.

The quality of the fish is not aligned with the price. We where 4 people having fresh fish. And none of them was fresh. I would not recommend this restaurant until they improve the food quality. On the other side, the view ,the service and the ambient was nice.

We were happy with this choice, once we found it. Our GPS and google maps led us to the wrong location, but it was a very pretty walk through Seaport Villlage. We had made online reservations and they were very accommodating to our group of four adults and three kids. Would go there again.

We had dinner here on a recent visit to San Diego. Despite having made our reservation weeks in advance, we were seated in the overflow room upstairs. It could have been quiet and romantic, but the servers stood in the corner and loudly chattered with each other at length. My 4-yr-old ordered the mac-n-cheese and we were disappointed to see it was the store-brand blue box and not house-made. My husband's fish was very good. I am not a seafood lover, and was disheartened that most all of the non-fish choices were fried. This restaurant could do so much more! As much as we love Seaport Village, we will likely not return to Pier Cafe.

Food was awesome! Started with Calamari, yummy! Then my wife and I ordered their fish specials and everything was delicious except the serving is a bit small especially the sides. Overall it was a great dining experience except our waiter didnt really have good rapport/ customer service skills. He just took our order, served and gave our check. Didnt even say thank you nor asked if everything was fine like a normal resto would do. #scully

Our server Betty was not on the ball. Our food came out right after the salads via a "runner" and she did not come to check the food until we were done. She was told about an incident at another table and did nothing. The food was ok. It was nothing special and not very hot. The timing was off. The busser Jorge was exemplary though. Very thorough, friendly and customer focused.

The first thing we noticed when we arrived at our table was 2 dirty forks in our napkins - not a good start. I also felt the food was overpriced for the quality/portions provided. Considering the variety of other restaurants in the area, I will probably not dine here again. Nice view though...

I went for my birthday. I seen a photo of the place and quickly made a reservation. The wait staff was amazing, they seem to really care about their quality of work. I ordered Vietnamese Style Wings, yuck! They smell of them as they arrived to the table practically killed my nose. They were extremely saltly. For my entre I ordered Jambalaya, which tasted like tomato sauce, no substance or flavor. The rice was undercooked as well. Well at least my Shirley Temple was amazing!

I enjoyed my cup of clam chowder although I would have liked to have seen a few more clams. The broth was fantastic, but the chowder seemed more of a soup with few potatoes and even fewer clams. I did not taste the seafood alfredo, but 3 of our group members did not finish their meals and explained the dish was bland. The blackened mahi was terrific, though. I was incredibly disappointed with my stuffed shrimp. The stuffing was supposed to be made with crab, but I certainly did not detect much crab. I had only four or five medium sized shrimp totally overpowered by stuffing served over rice. A special sauce was supposed to complement the dish, but I saw only a little sauce, and it was lost amidst all that mushy stuffing.

The food was good, nice views from the patio. We went to celebrate a birthday, and we were told we could get any dessert on the menu EXCEPT the chocholat cake. Really, no cake for a birthday. It was a dollar or two more then the other desserts. Seems really silly to me. The only cake option offered was carrot cake, and the birthday girl doesn't like carrot cake. Kind of a let down.
