  • "Hey Pier Cafe turned out to be really good place than what i saw in the pics i love the seating and view, service was unexpectedly good the lady was good enough in recommending the appetizers as per my taste. Pomegranate Margarita was amazing!"

  • "The quality of the fish is not aligned with the price. We where 4 people having fresh fish. And none of them was fresh. I would not recommend this restaurant until they improve the food quality. On the other side, the view ,the service and the ambient was nice."

  • "The food was terrible! The pictures online gave me the impression that it was a beachy romantic seafood place on the water. But it's not. We won't go back"

  • "All of our food was mediocre at best. I expected better food for the cost. Service was so so. I will never go back again."

  • "We booked though OpenTable but had to change the time. The restaurant still had the best table in the room for us, ready when we got there. The food is simple but fresh and good. The mood is casual but friendly and the staff attentive. The location and views fantastic."

  • "We went there with a group of 9, which could be easily accomodated at the very good scenic part of the restaurant. It is casual, but not too casual, and would also be good for a date or family. Nice sea food with great beers&wines. We really enjoyed it."

  • "We were happy with this choice, once we found it. Our GPS and google maps led us to the wrong location, but it was a very pretty walk through Seaport Villlage. We had made online reservations and they were very accommodating to our group of four adults and three kids. Would go there again."

  • "We had dinner here on a recent visit to San Diego. Despite having made our reservation weeks in advance, we were seated in the overflow room upstairs. It could have been quiet and romantic, but the servers stood in the corner and loudly chattered with each other at length. My 4-yr-old ordered the mac-n-cheese and we were disappointed to see it was the store-brand blue box and not house-made. My husband's fish was very good. I am not a seafood lover, and was disheartened that most all of the non-fish choices were fried. This restaurant could do so much more! As much as we love Seaport Village, we will likely not return to Pier Cafe."

  • "Great view! Our table was in the back right next to the window. We overlooked the entire bay and were right on top of the water! Very good service. "

  • "The view was spectacular, as we watched the sun set over Coronado Island. The food was cooked to perfection, both the fish and vegatables. We'll definitely return to The Pier Cafe."

  • "Food was awesome! Started with Calamari, yummy! Then my wife and I ordered their fish specials and everything was delicious except the serving is a bit small especially the sides. Overall it was a great dining experience except our waiter didnt really have good rapport/ customer service skills. He just took our order, served and gave our check. Didnt even say thank you nor asked if everything was fine like a normal resto would do. #scully"

  • "Our server Betty was not on the ball. Our food came out right after the salads via a "runner" and she did not come to check the food until we were done. She was told about an incident at another table and did nothing. The food was ok. It was nothing special and not very hot. The timing was off. The busser Jorge was exemplary though. Very thorough, friendly and customer focused."

  • "Nice view of the water; food was OK, but menu for dinner is same menu for lunch. Lunch would be better; this is not a great dinner menu."

  • "I started with a planned rsvp for 4. We found many friends at our business conference who wanted to join us on the day of our meal. I used Open Table to increase the party size to 15. Luckily it worked out. Great fun for all! Nice menu. Locals will tell you to get the Bread Bowl Chowder. I recommend the fish tacos. Excellent view of the Bay."

  • "The first thing we noticed when we arrived at our table was 2 dirty forks in our napkins - not a good start. I also felt the food was overpriced for the quality/portions provided. Considering the variety of other restaurants in the area, I will probably not dine here again. Nice view though..."

  • "I went for my birthday. I seen a photo of the place and quickly made a reservation. The wait staff was amazing, they seem to really care about their quality of work. I ordered Vietnamese Style Wings, yuck! They smell of them as they arrived to the table practically killed my nose. They were extremely saltly. For my entre I ordered Jambalaya, which tasted like tomato sauce, no substance or flavor. The rice was undercooked as well. Well at least my Shirley Temple was amazing!"

  • "I enjoyed my cup of clam chowder although I would have liked to have seen a few more clams. The broth was fantastic, but the chowder seemed more of a soup with few potatoes and even fewer clams. I did not taste the seafood alfredo, but 3 of our group members did not finish their meals and explained the dish was bland. The blackened mahi was terrific, though. I was incredibly disappointed with my stuffed shrimp. The stuffing was supposed to be made with crab, but I certainly did not detect much crab. I had only four or five medium sized shrimp totally overpowered by stuffing served over rice. A special sauce was supposed to complement the dish, but I saw only a little sauce, and it was lost amidst all that mushy stuffing."

  • "We were there in the city to celebrate a wedding anniversary and wanted to find a nice place to eat dinner and enjoy some great food. We found it! On-line reservations was the way to go. Got right in when we arrived and we were accommodated for our our request of being by the window."

  • "The Pier Café has great food with an even better view of the Coronado Bridge and Seaport sights! You won't be sorry to make a reservation here. We will come again if in San Diego!"

  • "The food was good, nice views from the patio. We went to celebrate a birthday, and we were told we could get any dessert on the menu EXCEPT the chocholat cake. Really, no cake for a birthday. It was a dollar or two more then the other desserts. Seems really silly to me. The only cake option offered was carrot cake, and the birthday girl doesn't like carrot cake. Kind of a let down."

  • "We chose this spot because it overlooked the ocean and the scenery is nice. The food is absolutely AWFUL. No taste no flavor not to mentioned overpriced. They had the worst fish and ships I have ever had. I will NEVER return nor do I recommend this to anyone."

  • "Our group of college friends recently gathered in San Diego for a winter get away. Upon reading other excellent reviews about Pier Cafe we decided to give this restaurant a try. We are certainly happy that we did. Awesome view of the water, great for sunset views and just a great all around atmosphere. The staff was willing and able to answer any of our questions about the menu. They welcomed our large group of 7 and we always felt comfortable sitting around after we finished eating just to continue to laugh and talk. The food was excellent and the drinks were wonderfully delicious. If we ever are in the San Diego area we would definitely come again."

  • "Service is always excellent. Very friendly atmosphere . Even though some tables are a little close you don't feel cramped and find most patrons friendly. Fun place great to dine around sunset for the wonderful view of the bay. Food and drinks are always great. Will definitely keep coming back !"

  • "We have been here several times and the food, the view and the service has been surprising us every time! The level of service seems to have gone up, there seems to be more people in the restaurant and they brought back refried beans! Love this place, will definitely refer to friends!"

  • "I love how Pier Cafe looks from the nearest pier. So I decided to have my birthday dinner with the one I love in this Cafe. Everything was great. We enjoyed the food (we both love sea food). We were sitting at the corner table and the view was outstanding. I was surprised with the price. It was reasonable for the location. Other places in seaport village are more expensive. I highly recommend this place."

  • "My family and I were in San Diego for New Years and wanted a cool place to go and eat some good seafood. We decided to make reservations because being new years eve we thought the restaurant might be busy. The place was dead and we could see why. The menu was nothing special, your typical Red Lobster menu, with fried fried fried or their over priced "chef specials". We ordered drinks and appetizers. Fried calamari and fried pickles. I normally like my pickles and calamari with a little coating but this was tons of coating with a little thin sliced pickles and baby calamari. Dinner was the same, over cooked and fried. Dessert menu had to be requested but once again, nothing special so skipped. Bill came and horrified looks after seeing the $"

  • "Don't waste you're money here unless you like unseasoned microwaved mystery fish and undercooked vegetables. We ate what we could, and ran out as soon as we could get the bill. Wallets were emptied for something a very ambitious 10 year old could do in an afternoon trying to impress his parents."
