Our server, Patrick, was very attentive without being intrusive and he had a wonderful personality which made it easy to enjoy the whole experience. The other staff whom we unfortunately did not get to know their names, were also professional, efficient and friendly. A nice variety of offerings on the lunch menu as well as the dinner menu."

  • "Had dinner using Groupon which was a terrific introduction for 4 of us to Pier 701 to try different dishes, both small dishes and main course. Our table enjoyed everything. Wine cost is reasonable and good. Very accommodating for gluten-free. Had to send back one entree since I forgot to ask for Dairy-Free too and they were very nice and open and removed cheese. T Had an awesome band that we danced to called "The Unit". Nice size dance floor. Would go back there again for dinner, especially to hear the band."

  • "My husband and I both had one of the best dinners out in a long time. We had gone to see the band that was playing last night and found our new favorite restaurant. We thought it was the best meal and at a fair price. The mussels were fantastic and you definitely need to order the home made steak fries with it. Highly recommend !!"

  • "Reservations were made for 6 for a Sunday night. Upon our arrival, there were at least ten young children running and screaming at the entry of the restaurant. There was a wedding party going on and the noise level was 10 out of 10. We were escorted to a small private room away from the ruckas but the noise level was still unacceptable. We were seated next to the door of room and the staff attempted, not always to keep it closed to diminish the volume of noise. Eventually we were moved to the back of that private room which somewhat ameliorated the noise level. The food was good, but I do have one complaint. Two people ordered the same dish, a seafood paella. One order had more scallops than the other. they should serve equally."

  • "I have to say, have been to this restaurant before (3 Times) & didn't care for it. Went during the recent restaurant week with friends. Whatever the management has done to improve this restaurant, I applaud you & encourage you to keep it up! The offerings on the restaurant week menu was terrific with many items to choose from (both appetizers & entrees)The food was delicious (all three of us enjoyed our meals, from the appetizers to dessert!) & the waitress was fantastic..she was proficient & attentive without being overbearing. This was a drastic improvement from previous visits. I only hope this wasn't a fluke & it continues. If it does, you will be in business for years to come!"

  • "Decided to try this restaurant for restaurant week with another couple. We were not disappointed! The service was excellent. The view was just lovely. We all enjoyed our meals. The beef Wellington was cooked perfect, the seafood paella was very good and the short rib was flavorful although I wished it came with a potato. The appetizers were a mini meal. Three of us had the shrimp/guacamole/salad was delicious and plentiful. My husband had the special New England Clam Chowder. That too was delicious. Three of us had the apple dish for dessert and we all agreed that it was really yummy. The desserts were flavorful. All in all we agreed that we would come back in the summer to sit outside and enjoy the ambience and really good food."

  • "Went to this restaurant when it was the Lighthouse and was disappointed. We saw some moderate reviews after the 701 renovations and decided to give the place another chance. Service was adequate. Nothing spectacular. Food was only below average. We went during restaurant week. The restaurant week menu was basically the same as the regular menu, so there was really no excuse for the uncooked rice in the seafood paella, and the overly spicy mussels (my tolerance for spicy food is very high). Dessert was ok at best, presentation was poor. Overall, you can get better food at this price elsewhere. I would only come back for drinks on the patio during nice nights."

  • "Although the food was nicely prepared and tasty, the server was not as attentive and had a bit of an attitude.. He bought over the wrong bottle of wine we ordered and insisted it was correct until we showed him on the menu, he bought over mussels with provencal broth instead of meuniere broth and insisted that their meuniere broth has tomatoes in it, until he was told the menu clearly describes what was in the broth. He did have to return both and bring the corrected items."

Ripped off on wine - $14 for a glass of mediocre house wine. Ywo glasses of wine cost same as 3 course dinner. Wont be back."

We understand that it was restaurant week, but felt this was the time to impress your guests. We also felt that the alcoholic drinks were a bit expensive."

  • "Checking the restaurant list on the Valley Table website, my friends and I chose Pier 701. The 3-course prix fixe lunch & dinner menu was posted. We made a reservation for 3 for Sunday at 1:30pm. When seated at our table, we were given the Brunch menu as the prix fixe. When we asked about the lunch prix fixe menu that was posted on Valley Table's Restaurant Week website, the wait staff informed us that they only serve Brunch on Sunday. We responded that on the Valley Table, both the 3-course prix fixe menu for lunch and dinner was shown and that in the comment part it only stated that the restaurant was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. It did not state that Brunch was served only on Sunday. We could have had eggs and waffles at home."

  • "Had dinner at Pier 701 Saturday night. The fire place was glowing, while the food and service were excellent. We were having dinner with friends we had not seen in awhile, it was the perfect place to reconnect. While the restaurant was full we were not rushed and had a great time talking, eating delicious food and drinking great wine. It was a Perfect Restaurant for a Perfect Evening. Thanks Pier 701 !!!!!!"

  • "We tried this place during restaurant week. There were several choices for main courses instead of the usual 3 that many places have during this event. The skirt steak was soft and tender and I asked for fried onions on top as an add on and had no problem. The. onion soup was really good but a bit on the sweet side. The profiteroles topped with ice cream and nuts ended the meal nicely. There was a band that stared close to 10:00 and the large empty space suddenly became filled with dancing. There were 2 dining rooms and a bar. The room we were in was very cold because it is on the water and it was a cold night.. The patio is opening on March 22nd. I hope when we go back for a non restaurant week dinner the food is as good"

  • "The food was great, but we were seated in a location close to the exit and very close to the band. The table was positioned in the corner and there were no other tables around. The room was plain and the location of the table made the ambiance feel cold and plain. I recommend you ask for a table in the other room to have a more fulfilling experience."

  • "I'm so sorry I didn't listen to my friends.i wasted my money, from the shrimp small plate to the dessert. The shrimp was saturated in lemon, the beef Wellington was burnt on the bottom and rare in the middle when I asked for it medium well. The potatoe was hard and crunchy had an over cooked dried out taste.. And no matter how many times we complained the room was FREEZING!!! I wore my coat threw the whole meal ! My hazelnut dessert was bland. I will never return .....regular menu is limited Un happy me ....sorry"

I'm not one to give a restaurant a bad review but that's the first time that has ever happened to me and it's totally unacceptable."

  • "I found this place on the internet. I was looking for a restaurant with views of the hudson river and tappan zee bridge. I took my husband this past weekend to celebrate his birthday. The place is really nice with beautful views of the hudson river and tappan zee bridge. The servers were very attentive. My husband ordered the beef wellington which was really good. I ordered the salmon which came with a lobster and truffle mash potatoes which was like heaven. At the end of the meal the chef/owner came out and appraoched all the tables. Which was really nice. I would definitely go back again."

  • "Not ure if it was a direct relation, but after super-Sandy, this place changed from the Lighthouse (not a bad joint) to Pier 701, and it's a whole new ball game. Great selection of fish and not too shabby on the meat and pasta as we'll. Seemed like there were dozens of ways to get your lobstah, and though none of the 4 of us went that way, we were all very happy with our drinks, appetizers and main dishes. Desserts were light and not overly sweet. Can't wait for the good weather to see how Pier 701 uses their riverside location!"

The chef came out to talk; he too was very friendly. This is a great little establishment that we will be sure to visit again! We were here in the wintertime; we look forward to coming back again to dine outside with the breathtaking skyline view!"

  • "My girlfriend and I went for dinner using a Groupon and have to say, we were very happy with everything. Since it's winter time, we couldn't enjoy the outdoor views and atmosphere, but will go back in the summer for that. Overall, the food was very good and our waitress was great. Very friendly. We were not rushed at all and enjoyed a little time between courses. There was a show going on at the time in the main dining room so we ate in the bar area which was totally fine with us. The fireplace kicked off great heat and added to the mood. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant."

  • "Went on Valentines day. Was supposed to get a reservation so late but did. Had only special menus In the table. Menu had NO PRICING ON IT! Now I know why I bought off special menu and my spouse off regular Menu And his dinner was half mine ,price was outrageous !!! Service was bad. Didn't get what we asked for and for $70 my meal Should have been top notch we voiced our disappointment to the Manager on the way out . Btw couple in table next to us was not too happy either"
