  • "Great food, great atmosphere and view of the harbour."

  • "We have been going to Pier 7 since it opened several years ago. Started out as a nice quiet good neighbourhood restaurant. Seems like lately the noise level in the restaurant has become so loud my wife and I couldn't even carry on a conversation at our table. The music volume is turned up so high everyone in the restaurant is yelling to be heard. Won't be going back anything soon."

  • "We went for lunch and it was quiet business crowd, however, ive been before for dinner. The food is so-so; perhaps a hit and miss place. I had a quinoa salad that was dry and salty, but the broccoli soup was great. I like this spot for the ambience not the food."

  • "We made a last minute reservation and didn't know what to expect. All the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Mike our waiter was a true professional. He knew the menu, explained things easily, and answered our questions. He was attentive but not over-bearing--a true professional. We will visit again next time we are in Vancouver. It is a true gem that we highly recommend!"

  • "Went here because it was close to our hotel & was next to the water. The menu looked terrific and we ordered the seafood nachos to start with gnocchi and ling cod as the mains. The plate of nachos was huge, unfortunately they were just nachos. Very little seafood in them and there were a couple of bites where we got something so spicy it almost ruined the whole meal. The gnocchi was fantastic, best dish of the night. The ling cod was terrible, the fish was chewy and tough. The curry sauce for the cod was bland and was like watered down soup, the veggies were all over cooked and the wilted spinach was soggy green blobs of tastelessness. Overall the service was good, a little slow but very friendly and always there when we needed something."

  • "My wife and daughters arrived and were seated in the patio. Twenty minutes passed before we even saw our server. We ordered drinks and asked for water. We waited another 15 minutes before we decided to leave and find another restaurant. Thirty five minutes and not even a glass of water. They should be ashamed of themselves."

  • "The food would have been poor quality at a moderately priced pub. It was overcooked, flavour profiles didn't work, and the food was swimming in butter. The New York Steak was the consistency of shoe leather, with about the same amount of flavour. The cauliflower risotto had huge pieces of cauliflower, and I had to search for the rice risotto. On a positive note, the fries were good. The side salad for $6 boasted fresh ingredients. Not once did our server offer to "freshen up" our water. Nor was there an offer to "freshen up" the $3 coke. This could be because we did not order alcohol."

  • "Food is good here, waitresses are not too well informed."

  • "Beautiful location and views. Nicely appointed interior. Sevice was good. Food was disappointing - had the oyster po-boy which would have been better without all the bread and batter. Coleslaw did not taste fresh. Menu really needs revamping. This restaurant COULD be fabulous."

  • "Food quality was good to great, depending on what you ordered. We ordered the specials, of which some were already unavailable, even though we got to the restaurant @6:00 PM. Perhaps Cook under-ordered or underestimated the popularity of some of the specials. Staff were courteous to a fault, coming back a bit too often, and interrupting our conversation with the usual "how's everything?" Even so, a quality restaurant with great food and a great view."

  • "We were given a gift certificate from our son for Christmas and decided to go to celebrate our 45th anniversary and found it wonderful! We went again 6 days later when a friend came to visit from Miami. Both times we found the tastes to be amazing. My husband had the bouillabaisse both times because it was so good. Enjoyed the lights of the harbour. The service was friendly and over the top when our guest had food allergies to certain foods."

  • "One certainly isn't encouraged to linger. We were met with a warning that online reservation only entitled us to 90 minutes for our dinner, but given the food quantities involved, this doesn't present a problem. The portions are minute. We opted for the 4-course set menu, book-ended with a bisque served in a tiny espresso cup, and a cheese-cake the size of a Lego brick. The fish entree barely extended to three mouth-fulls. While the location is breathtaking, make sure you eat before you go. At these prices, there's a better time to be had elsewhere."

  • "One of the best restaurants I have been to in a while. Excellent seared scallops and duck breast. Service was excellent. Bonus: our waitress looks like Taylor Swift. Would definitely go back there again and again and again."

  • "Although this restaurant has a great ambience and the server was excellent I asked for my salmon to be slightly undercooked and the result was an extremenly overcooked piece of fish."

  • "Excellent lunch at Pier7. Had been several times before and it was always a "hit and miss." However it seems they have a new chef and you can tell. I had the mussels in white wine which came heaped high with long slice of French toast for dipping. I also ordered the fries, which were home made and delicious - came with mayo too for dipping. Server was gracious and attentive. When you get the food right and the service right, then it's a winner! View is always an added bonus. We will be back soon."

  • ".....just moved into LoLo and took my two friends for a 'late supper' last Friday evening (late because there weren't any reservations available until 8:30pm). Lovely surprise.... didn't know about the spectacular view nor the decor itself (nice!). The 'late for us' dining time meant we didn't want 'heavy' fare and we all found delightful food: my male friend, whose birthday it was, chose the bouillabaise and pronounced it the 'best in the lower mainland' (it's the 'red' kind and was, fortunately, not overburdened with potatoes). My girlfriend had a light prawn dish and I had beet soup accompanied with a most delicious beet salad! We''ll be back soon! Bonus: found pay parking at 8:30pm on a Friday evening 'right there'!"

  • "I chose this restaurant to take my husband to for his birthday. We had never been there before. The ambience was nice; we had a window seat in a quiet area. The food was delicious. My one gripe is that I was still eating my starter when the waitress brought out our entrees! My husband had finished his starter before me and they had taken out his plate, but I was still eating and they put my entree in the middle of the table, where it sat going cold until I was ready for it. And because it was sitting there I felt like I had to start eating it straight away, without a break, because otherwise the food would go cold!"

  • "Amazing view with great food. If your group is not 100% seafood compatible, avoid this place as everything has seafood in it. Nice place, just pricey."

  • "Couldn't seem to cope with a full restaurant. Our server didn't remember who ordered what, we waited on dishes and drinks and initially the service was very slow. In fairness, though, they were very friendly and tried to make up with the disappointment of the service with discounts at the end of the meal, for which we were grateful and did not expect."

  • "We liked the fact that the menu caters to those who want casual dinning, as well as those who want a more 'fine dinning' experience. The food was delicious, and our server was excellent! The wild mushroom risotto was creamy and full of mushrooms. The noise level was just right - not overly clattery, nor too hushed. I will definitely be back! Thanks for participating in the Dine Out Vancouver program."

  • "The servers were very friendly and made us feel welcome. We met friends we had not seen for months and had a relaxed dinner catching up, we did not feel rushed at all. The Ahi tuna appetizer was especially good."

  • "I had the clam chowder soup appetizer which was a bit on the thin side but tasty. Braised pork cheeks for main course which were totally excellent. Bread pudding for desert which was perfectly OK and enjoyable but not outstanding. The service was terrific. Overall a very enjoyable experience and will not doubt be back at this restaurant."

  • "The restaurant overlooks the harbour and at night the lights of the Vancouver skyline are reflected in the water. A wall of windows and elevated tables farther from the windows means a good view for all. The service was friendly, attentive but not invasive. The food was tasty and well prepared. Some restaurants become pretentious, trying to gain a reputation for trendiness. Here, the emphasis was on flavour and good ingredients. The Dine Out menu desserts were both milk based and when we asked if there could be a substitution because of lactose intolerance, the chef prepared a lovely replacement. We enjoyed the meal from start to finish and would love to return."

  • "Food and service were great, no complaints at all. Found our table very close to the next and it was very tight at the bar getting to the front door. It was a foggy night but I know the view is out there for next time."

  • "Hello. I have dined at pier 7 twice recently and on both occasions I found the food service to be on the slow side. Normally when you are out with you spouse or friend and have extra time to kill this wouldn't be too bad but we have two small children and going out for dinner there just takes too long, kids get hungry and restless. Our calamari was unfortunately not very tasty, it seemed to have so much breading and not much flavour. The reset of out meal was good and our table service as good."

  • "Pier 7 could be a real gem but they continue to hire staff (manager included) that are not fit to serve the in the industry. Attention to detail aside, the amount of time we waited for everything (including our bill) was unbelievable. After we were seated it took over 5 minutes to even be acknowledged. The manager walked our way three times and didn't even look our way, she picked up a plate at an already served table and that was it! I'll say it again, unbelievable for such an awesome location. I won't name names here but our server was appauling. I truly hope that the fact we were two women at the table had no bearing on the subject but the men sure got a lot more attention that we did!"

  • "This was our second time dining at Pier 7, and it was not nearly as good as the first time. There was food under our table when we were seated, and it had not been fully set. There were empties at both of two unoccupied tables next to us. They did not have the usual crayons and colouring menu for kids that most places, but were able to scrounge up a pencil and marker very late into dinner and my son had no interest at that point. Service was slow despite there being very few tables occupied. We ordered the tuna tacos appetizer, the calamari, and a bowl of fries for our son. tacos were too moist and unremarkable. Calamari was tasty and the fries were adequate. The virgin mojito was tasty and my dark -n- stormy was strong."

  • "We have been to the restaurant twice. Our server (Krista?) was absolutely fantastic with our kids (who have allergies to eggs and nuts). She brought out allergy friendly bread that the kids loved. The bouillaibaisse was thicker than expected - i didn't enjoy it as much as the one I've eaten regularly at Monk McQueen's. The salmon was fantastic and good for the kids. The beet salad and calamari were great. We had the crumble for dessert which was also nice - and they replaced the ice cream with sorbet to accommodate the kids. We celebrated our 10th anniversary. The servers didn't bring anything special which was too bad - but it was still a great experience."

  • "We really enjoyed our dinner and generally had great service. Our sommelier took us by surprise as we weren't expecting to have that type of service. However, it was greatly appreciated. Overall, staff was friendly, the food terrific, view amazing and we all had a memorable evening. Love having this restaurant as an option in North Vancouver."

  • "Beautiful view, quiet place. However, the menu needs to be re-looked. Menu options and taste need to improve. There are lots of other menu choices that can be looked and compared. Keep in mind that you are in a prime location in Vancouver. That and a good reputation for the menu selection are a win win. Good luck!"
