Diner Reviews
  • "This was a real find. Absolutely top notch food. Fantastic service. Attention to every detail. And without any question, the best absolute value of any meal we've had in Miami."

  • "We had a spectacular meal including terrific wine pairings. Don't miss the fois gras. They are not kidding when they claim it as a specialty. Better than anything we had in Paris during our two weeks there last fall. Quite the surprise."

  • "This cozy little gem offers a classic French menu with carefully modernized dishes - e.g., the raw scallop was paired with crunchy cauliflower as well as a yummy cauliflower foam, and the foie gras comes in two preparations, a very classic pate and an innovative "bonbon". Ask for the 5-course tasting menu; also the wine pairing is excellent. The service is very personable, and the relatively small room is very elegant yet cozy."

  • "Very nice restaurant in a great setting. Food was very good but very pricy compared to other restaurants of that level. The owner was very officious and not friendly."

  • "The men who run this place are French & are friendly and welcoming. Mgr actually helped with a DC-area stalwart, Auberge Françoise. Modern French executed superbly. Starters - both had the Scallops and Caviar (Cauliflower Blinis, Cauliflower Remoulade), greated white cauliflower with white remoulade with fresh scallops was a lovely white canvas for a dallop of caviar. The blinis were soft and creamy, and I couldve eaten 100. Main course I had the sous vide rack of lamb (Bok Choi, Mashed Potato Scented with Fresh Mint, Lamb Jus Reduction). Lamb was a huge portion and flavorful, and it was tender but not amazingly so. Wife had tender perfectly done lobster on a creamy risotto. A great meal and great atmosphere, escape from the energy of SoBe."

  • "Found this restaurant a few years ago. Always have a great authentic French meal. A lot of Miami Beach restaurants rely on Flash instead of the quality of their food.... Not Pied a Terre! Great meal . Will return frequently!"

  • "We lived in Brussels for over 3 years and this is the first time it we experience Michelen star level quality! Simplify outstanding in all areas."

  • "Small restaurant with a rather officious atmosphere. The waiter with a heavy French accent had to explain in exhaustive detail every item on the menu, even though he wasn't asked to do so. The food was good and very imaginative. Waiter forgot to bring our after dinner drinks."

  • "We finally found a place in Miami for those special evenings when what is desired is superb food, charming service, a romantic setting, and great conversation. We will return again and again."

  • "We has goose liver pate and rack of lamb. Both were outstanding! The pate was pink, fresh, beautifully presented and delicious! The lamb was truly world class! The best we ever ate in the US, only bested by two star locations in France. Service was impeccable. Room is cozy, intimate and staff if knowledgeable and friendly. Go for it- no hesitation!"

  • "My husband and I had an excellent meal at this cozy, intimate restaurant. We sat in the outside courtyard which was lovely. Make sure to take a suggestion from the sommelier. He is quite the expert. The food was delicious."

  • "After 23 years living here, trying 99% of the restaurants, I never wrote one single review; So yes if I take the time to write a few words on the PAT it is to mention the amazing quality of their food. You can taste that they are looking for the best fresh ingredients and they are not trying to cut corners in buying cheap products. Most of the restaurants tour have forgotten about this simple fact. Their chef, will them prepare some original dishes such as the vegetable tart with pea sherbet or coconut lemon thym ice cream. The major difference with other kitchen that usually try to mix up anything to be different this one was extremely well thought and you will still dream about the amazing flavors of the PAT long after your diner."

  • "This was the third year in a row we went to Pied a Terre for our anniversary dinner, again it did not disappoint. It is a real hideaway but right next to Lincoln Road. The main room feels like a private dining room and they now have a very nice outdoor seating area as well. The service is wonderful, with real attention given to every guest. The food was very good with a special note for the vegetable tart d'oeuvre which was tasty and different. We enjoyed the entire experience and will be back again for another special occasion."

  • "We had a great experience at pied á terre. The chief waiter gave us an in depth explanation of the menu, which was great. We had a 3 course dinner. All courses were really delicious, the wine selection (by glass) was excellent as well. It's pricy, but the quality fits the price definately."

  • "The restaurant is beautiful, the patio is gorgeous and the food is spectacular. Add polite service, an interesting wine list that will delight and surprise you, all the ingredients are there for an unforgettable dining experience anywhere. Elegant French ambiance but the flavones also remind you you are in Miami and the tropics. Cannot be missed!"

  • "What a wonderful restaurant tucked in a small boutique hotel in Miami Beach. Everything about it was unique from the food, liquor choices, and wine list. It was a memorable evening and we would go back to Miami again just to visit this little gem. We highly recommend it."

  • "Short and to the point menu, yet delicious. We had the lamb chops and Dorade. Highly recommended, one of the best restaurants in Miami Beach period."

  • "Seriously great food without pretension, as finely prepared and flavorful as any I've had in Miami or New York. The vegetable tart appetizer sounded a little tricky, with pea sorbet, but it was delicious and a fabulous, cold contrast to the rest of the dish. I'm allergic to shellfish, which was in the sea bass entree, and asked if they could prepare it some other way. I expected something adequate with a couple of teeny vegetables. Instead, I got a brilliant fish dish, as fine as anything I've had in Bernardin. The waiters are lovely, but need a bit more training. However, they are knowledgeable and eager to please. A fine evening!"

  • "The whole Christmas dinner experience couldn't have been improved upon. We were so pleased with the whole experience. Table for 3 by the pool and lovely courtyard, the unusual wines which were so perfectly paired with the food and the beautiful, delicious food which was prepared without cream and very little butter. The proprieter was extremely knowledgeable about the wines and food. We thought we were back in Paris! Sigh..."

  • "We arrived and were seated outside on the patio as there was a large party indoors. We were the only ones there for a 7pm reservation but online when I tried to book an 8pm, it said not available....there were plenty of open tables at that time. We sat near the road so you could hear the cars driving by but the trees around the patio covered the view which was nice. We had warm and cold fois gras, I recommend the cold, it was much better. My husband and I shared our dishes, he had the lamb, which could have been flavored a bit better but was extremely tender at medium rare. I had the duck med rare which was fantastic. Dessert was good but macaron was too hard due to faulty refrigeration. The waiter still charged us for it. I would recommend"

  • "I have been privileged to have eaten at many of the great restaurants around the world, so I tend to set a fairly hight bar in judging high expectation places. My expectations were well met. Each course was beautifully conceived and executed. You know it is good when you can'y wait to offer a taste to your companion. It was like a Chinese ping pond game: try this, try that, try this...throughout the night. We were given a lovely table on the terrace overlooking the romantically lit pool. Patrick, the maitre 'd, sommelier, manager and major doom, took special pains to be sure we were totally satisfied.,,and we were. I promised I would write a review, and, it is my pleasure to keep my word."

  • "The snobbishness of the owners / waiters wasn't matched by the sophistication of the dishes. I suspect wine by the glass was bought at the nearby Walgreen's despite apparent French labels."

  • "Probably the best restaurant in Miami. It's different and really everything's is a delight. If you want to be seen, don't go there. If you really like nice food, That's the place to go at Miami"

  • "The attention to detail from the start was special. Soon after we were seated our friendly waiter, Didier brought a treat from the chef, a single bite-sized hors d'oeuvre of avocado flavored somehow with lemon and basil. Every bite thereafter was delicious. Try the vegetable tart, I can't describe how delicious it is!"

  • "This restaurant is as fine as the top restaurants in France. The food was superb including the "amuse bouche". A rare fine for Southbeach."

  • "There's a lot to like and a little to be disappointed in regarding this restaurant. Charming boutique hotel with great story and history. The restaurant itself is a romantic , quaint place where you feel more like you were invited by a friend than a customer. Service is old school, professional and sincere (a rarity in SoBe). The food itself is where the restaurant disappoints a bit. The descriptions of the dishes and the pricing lead you to anticipate a truly special experience. Instead, the food doesn't deliver on its promise and is just "good", "decent"."

  • "From the bread and French butter to the Foie Gras Bonbons (with a bit of delicious salad) to the Duck breast/confit with wild mushrooms and the Sea Bass...lick the plate clean-worthy. So very French and all of the flavors were well-designed. We were too full for dessert but there were complimentary sweets we were unable to resist. Outstanding!!!!"
