Diner Reviews
  • "Recently visited before a Browns game with the whole family. Food was very good. Highly recommend the mussels and wood fired pizza. . Service was some of the best! . Manager went out of his way to come over and help out in a very busy evening!"

  • "Somewhat limited menu, but food prepared well. Difficult to see menu with low lighting."

  • "I haven't dined downtown in years. Our afternoon lunch out of doors showed me that I have been missing a new and exciting part of our community life. If you haven't thought about it, try it enjoy it"

  • "I frequent Pickwick, but the most recent experience wasn't on target. I suppose the "B Team" was working as it was a Tuesday night, but no excuse. The salad came out wrong, the lobster bisque soup was cold, and the service was worse than usual...not to mention I had reservations and when I arrived the hostess said she was sorry and she hadn't been inside all evening to check the reservation list. That didn't really matter as they were quite slow for a Tuesday and we had no issues being seated."

  • "Ordered apps and salads first which came out within minutes of each other, then ordered two rib eye steak dinners and were brought prime rib instead which was totally tasteless. We ate it because we didn't have time to wait for them to make us steaks as we had a show to get too. Would not recommend this place at all"

  • "Went here for my sister's birthday, had dinner for 5 at the outside seating. Great ambiance and the staff made it special with a small birthday dessert. Food was great. Had a wonderful time!"

  • "My Guy and I went here for date night last Friday. Food was good. Service was horrible. She brought the appetizer out with our meals, was very unfriendly and then basically threw our check on the table and didn't even leave a pen. We did complain and the manager reassured us that this wouldn't happen again and then bought us a drink. Which as nice. I love this place, just make sure you set a good server. It changes everything."

  • "The worst dine in experiment. The worst service you can ever imaging."

  • "The service was great, however I ordered the Walleye and the skin was rubbery and the plate had way to much spinach. Also, I ordered the Fly drink special and it was a great deal but all 5 drinks came to the table all at once and the ice melted in some of the drinks before you could drink them. My wife ordered the prime rib and loved it..."

  • "We did an on-line reservation for 8. Nice to know some restaurants still accept reservations. We enjoyed dining outside on this lovely Sunday evening. Our server was excellent. The menu had a nice selection and the food was very good. We will definitely return."

  • "Pickwick is very consistent. Good food, realistic prices, good service, nice wine list. I can always count on getting in and out quickly if needed."

  • "We had dinner outdoors and then went in to the comedy club and it was a fantastic evening"

  • "We don't get our very often, so last Saturday was really special to us! The disappointing part was that our first choice of drinks and meals were not available. Examples were no Mojitos ( no mint, even though the club below stocked it) no Bud Light, no Bloody Mary ( not sure why not) and I forget what meal was not available, but had to go with second choice. The comedy below more than made up for the dining disappointment, but if the night was a dinner-only evening, we would have left with a less-than-positive feeling."

  • "I wouldn't hesitate to choose Picwick & Frolic for a nice meal with a great choice of wines, beers, and cocktails. It's worthy of the trip to the restaurant without going to a comedy show, but why would you! The experience of the restaurant is made all the better that you can top off your meal with a great comedy show for dessert, and at a very reasonable cost. In fact, you van actually HAVE dessert (and/or a dessert drink) during the show. So have a great meal, then turn it into an experience by sticking around for some great stand-up."

  • "We went to dinner here because it was connected to the comedy club. The inside was beautiful. It took a while to get served and for the food to come out. They didn't get the side right on my order. When it came back, the red skin potatoes were really dry and cold and very unappealing. I think they were going for a potato - skin type potato. My steak was done perfectly and the sauce was delicious-- but it was cold. "

  • "First time dinning at Pickwick & Frolic. Everything was excellent -- from "breaking plates" (appetizers) to the service (Kevin). A little pricy cost-wise, but portions were very generous and every item excellent. There were four in our party and we all ordered different items -- and sampled everyone's. All agreed -- the food was outstanding. We ate late before the 10 PM show (Sebastian). Due to the generous portions, we had left-overs. No worries, Kevin said they would be held for us in the cooler and we just needed to stop by the bar after the show to pick them up. We did just that. Looking forward to dining here again (even if we aren't seeing a show). Just writing this review and remembering the food is making me hungry!"

  • "We had a group of seven that dined at Pickwick on Saturday. The server was very good. The selection was great for a group as there are menu items from small plates and pizzas to steaks. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Our server split our check into four which is something that does not happen often. We were going to the Rockhall concert and had plenty of time to walk over on a beautiful night."

  • "My food bill was for $78.00. Disappointed with the quality of the food. If it was for half the price I paid then maybe ok"

  • "We come here before our comedy shows at Hilarities. We always enjoy the pizzas. They are wonderful! However, I tried a salad that had chicken on it - can't remember the name of the dish - but the lettuce was not chilled and the chicken on the salad was dry & flavorless. I will stick to the pizza on my next visit. Also, I ordered a Dirty Martini that was obviously not chilled (or in a chilled glass) - it was hard to drink it but I managed, not ordering another one."

  • "Decided to try Pickwick and Frolic before an Indians game and were pleasantly surprised. The food was good and the server was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We plan to stop there again."

  • "Were sat immediately at our reserved table upon arrival. Server greeted us cheerfully and promptly. Advised her we needed to be out in 90 minutes to make it to concert. Took our drink order promptly then followed with app and meal order. Everything served promptly and as described. Lobster bisque terrific and liked the smaller serving option for caesar salad. Really hate to leave so much food behind or feel forced (self imposed) to finish huge plates of food when full and not convenient to take a doggy bag. Great tasty and juicy burger. We were out in just over 60 min. So much more to enjoy here - comedy club, cabaret, and bar if you have time. A real gem for Cleveland. "

  • "A really great find in a perfect location. The service was outstanding, very friendly and knowledgeable. Food was delicious and well presented. Very comfortable ambiance, but the open kitchen makes it a bit noisier than average - we didn't mind at all. Definitely recommend!"

  • "We were impressed the moment we walked in for Easter brunch!! This was our first time here. All food stations were set up beautifully and restocked and neat the entire time we were there. Every single staff member was pleasant and very efficient. The selections were way beyond our expectations. My granddaughters said this has to be a tradition repeated every year at Pickwick!"

  • "Absolutely great place; beautiful restaurant, funky bar - and burlesque and comedy shows to boot within the same building! Unique place and worth coming to Cleveland for. We stayed at a nearby hotel, and came here 2 nights in a row due to different shows, and great food."
    Dined on 4/11/2014
  • "My guest and I had a great time although the place was filled with other concert/show goers. I had their cauliflower pasta which was great and my guest had the NY strip steak which cooked just right. This is one of his favorite places to get steak and we always come back for the food and the comedy shows on the weekends!"

  • "Admittedly I am not in the restaurant business, but I am pretty sure sometime after you order food should be brought to the table. Others around us had food, and I don't believe they brought it with them. The waitress thought maybe our appitizer was given to the wrong table, this was insightful but didn't solve the immediate problem. Our suggestion is make a second reservation somewhere else to actually eat, that's what we ended up doing."

  • "Went to this restaurant as a last minute decision before going to their comedy club. went with a group of six. Food was very good, great service, but felt that it was a little pricey. Still very happy with the overall experience."

  • "We had a very good meal - the waiter was attentive, but not smothering - moderately priced wine and reasonably priced food for the area. It is a bit noisy - not really a romantic venue. This was our second visit and we were please both times. We'll be back, I'm sure."
    Dined on 3/29/2014
  • "The food was exceptionally well prepared. Great steaks, and excellent service.it used to be a comedy show with so-so food, and now it CAN be called a restaurant with a comedy show, great place to go, even if you are not going to the show. Excellent entertainment and food venue. In the summer weather the patio on 4th street is really a treat both early and late."

  • "Been here several times and always find it enjoyable. The broasted chicken was cooked to perfection and delicately seasoned with rosemary and tarragon. I loved it. Carrots were huge and not cooked quite enough for my taste."

  • "We stopped in for an early dinner before a show at PlayhouseSquare with our 3 year old. I was not expecting them to have a kid menu, but I thought they might have something a child could drink (bar OJ? Yuck!) or eat. I asked whether they could do chicken tenders (they couldn't) or whether they had chocolate milk or even apple juice (no again). Neither my husband nor I enjoyed our food very much either. It's just average food; nothing spectacular. The soup was particularly flavorless. I think this is coming out of the rotation, even for lunch. I have been disappointed too frequently."
