Diner Reviews
  • "I think they took too many reservations as we had them for 7 and did not get seated until 7:50..the entrance was packed-you could not move in the entryway. terribly disorganized food was great..."

  • "Our reservation was for 7:00, table for 4. We checked in at 7 and were told by the hostess "it would be a couple of minutes". 25 minutes later I inquired as to when we would be seated, that more than a couple of minutes had passed, and was told "we're doing the best we can". At 7:35 I asked the hostess when we will be seated and why are they taking reservations if they have no intention of honoring them. She looked right at me and then walked away. We promptly left, went to another restaurant in another part of the center (Asian fusion) and were treated with both respect and care, and had a wonderful dinner. The fact that I am able to write this review shows their disorganization. They didn't even notice we left!"

  • "We have a dinner almost every week. Great menu for kids and adults. Has even gluten free pizza, pasta and desert. The best chicken parmasian I ever had. Nice music on Saturdays."

  • "Although we've eaten at Piccolo Newtown and Piccolo Langhorne before with no problems. This recent visit was not the best experience. 3 out of 4 adults ordered entrees with soup/salad. 2 received their soup/salad but one did not. Once it was brought to the attention of our waiter, the soup was brought out; however, the entrée followed right behind the soup. They packed up the soup "to-go". The same customer whose soup was late also ordered an entrée with a specific pasta. When it arrived, we thought that just the pasta was wrong; however, we looked at the menu and found that the wrong entrée was brought for him. He was not fond of the dish. The restaurant was not too busy, but there seemed to be some confusion."

  • "We have been at the Piccolo Trattoria in Langhorne and in Newtown and it never ceases to impress. The chicken and salmon Caesar salads are great. Try their spaghetti bolonaise. Excellent sauce! It is a BYO which we love!"

  • "We were seated right away, when there was a wait for walk in service. We were greeted by the Chef himself. The specials were delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for fine Italian dining. I've been here about 10 times and never had a bad experience or a bad meal."

  • "Consistently very good food. Great desserts-the cannoli is terrific and the lava cake always satisfies my chocolate craving. Portions are fairly large so we always have leftovers which is great."

  • "Went on a Saturday night and couldn't believe how chaotic it was. The staff seemed overwhelmed by the number of customers and barely could keep up. It appeared to me that the space was overpacked with tables. There was hardly enough space for staff to get by. I guess the owner is trying to maximize his/her profit by packing it in. As a result the quality of service suffers. The food itself was quite good and the prices very reasonable."

  • "We have been dining here at least twice a month for the past year. The food has consistently been quite good. The menu is extensive but we have our favorites. I love the spring mix salad with grilled chicken. The House dressing is amazing! My girls love the vodka rigatoni, chicken parm and pasta Vienna. My husband will try the seafood specials and has always been pleased. We are dessert lovers and Piccolo always has a large selection that offers something for everyone. The Cannoli is always a favorite along with the chocolate lava cake and anything peanut butter!"

  • "Dinner's came out, hadn't gotten soup or salad yet. They took the meals back and out them under a heating lamp, hard pasta and chewy salmon."

  • "The food was delicious and the staff was friendly and attentive. Went there on a recommendation and will definitely go back. I liked the fact that there was not a limited menu even though it was New Year's Eve."

  • "Went on New Years Eve. Had a 6:30 reservation - arrived on time but not seated until 7:20. Then another 20 minutes until a waiter came by. Only had salad before the main course, and didn't get main course until after 8:00. Waiter very helpful when present, but didn't see him very often. Food was very good (as it always is) - fresh salads and pasta dishes prepared just right. Really enjoy the restaurant but either overbooked or didn't have enough help for New Years Eve. Had very nice live music playing in background (not too loud or soft) which was nice for a holiday. Other thing - I guess to be expected, menu items not all that different than usual, but prices a bit higher because it was New Years Eve. Great place - just not for holidays."

  • "The food was excellent and service was very attentive. Only downfall - tables were arranged to maximize seating. Our table was located in the middle section of the restaurant and our group hugged the table for the entire meal. There was no room for anyone in the restaurant to pass between these tables."

  • "Good suburbia restaurant with a menu that covers all bases of the usual Italian menu. There is something for everyone."

  • "Very good food and reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend.Service was good although it took almost 15 mins from our reserved time to get a table."

  • "This was our first visit, but it won't be our last. The introductory bread put at the table was delicious - I already knew we were going to be ok. The entree selections were endless, almost difficult to choose, but we finally had to. I ordered a chicken and mushroom ravioli special - delicious. My husband eats gluten-free, so they made him a GF pasta and grilled chicken parmigiana, which he loved. The desserts were outstanding as well - they even had one for my GF husband. The cappuccino I finished the dinner with was outstanding. Also, the service was great, attentive but not intrusive, and she got everything right the first time. We were very, very happy, and will definitely go back for another great experience, I'm sure."

  • "If there is one thing I can say is, Piccolo never disappoints. The food is consistently served hot & delicious !! The entrees you come to love will always taste the same and they will be amazing!! I highly recommend this neighborhood gem!"

  • "Can't believe we've lived in the area for more than two years and haven't dined here before now. Just assumed it was another pizza/pasta place. Big mistake! Reservation time was honored, service was friendly and fast, but not rushed. Food was delicious. My only complaint was menu was so big it was hard to decide!"

  • "Hard to talk, as noise level is "up there." They have music, which is lovely, but adds to the noise level. Service was spotty, and we had to ask for water, twice. Food was very good for the price."

  • "Our third time at Piccollo Trattoria. The food is consistently good and there is something for everyone. Service can be slow; it took us a long time for our entrees to arrive."

  • "Was very Noisy. Kids all over the place!! Should do what other restaurants are doing now and not allow kids after 6:30 on weekends. We went out for a nice night and were annoyed by a little boy in the next table over. We asked for a booth and was denied. We like kids, but this one was annoying. We feel when we go out on Saturdayand pay good money for a meal we should get a better atmosphere. Parents should take their kids to Chucky cheese or a more kid friendly place. Will think twice about this choice again."

  • "This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in newtown. The problem is tables are too close together as they have packed more tables into the dining area. We literally were on top of the tables to our left and right. Enjoyed their conversations and I'm sure they heard ours"

  • "The Chicken Saporita never fails to please with its velvety tender chicken, generous serving of lump crab and al dente asparagus, bathed in a lovely cream sauce. The fried artichokes will delight even those who think they don't like artichokes. The service is attentive, well informed and invariably courteous."
