The food was delicious and well-made (I highly recommend the Spaghetti Neri Frutti de Mare) and the service is even better to boot! We went all out so I spent a little bit of money for two people but we also took home enough food for a small meal and was pretty sloshed."

  • "Took my aunt here as a special treat. We started with a bottle of pinot grigio and a super tasty chianti poached pear salad with arugula and goat cheese. Then I had the bolognese with ricotta stuffed pasta and it was....ok. I felt like maybe it had been sitting under heat lamps for a little while because the sauce on the pasta had dried somewhat, and the pasta wasn't piping hot, it was just warm. The flavors were great, though and I completely ate my plate clean, so I consider it a success. Next time maybe I would try the pizza... For dessert we got the hazelnut chocolate lava cake with hazelnut gelato and oh my god YUM. I had a delicious cappuccino to go with it, and honestly I would go just for the dessert. It was incredible."

  • "I was so excited to dine here reading all the reviews. Food was just mediocre. Ordered 2 appetizers two dinners and one dessert. The only thing I was impressed with was the pizza and the drinks. Kudos to the bartender that was working that night. I would only go back here to sit at the bar for drinks maybe order the pizza."

  • "This is my 3rd time here, and OMG this could have been the best meal I've ever had. I ordered the pasta special--dumplings in a porcini mushroom broth. The flavor was amazing--perfect balance of salt with Parmesan cheese. Also, the burrata appetizer was amazing. I feel so lucky this place is in my neighborhood as well! I will continue to recommend this place."

The tables for two were fairly close together...in the Italian style. I can't say enough good things for this wonderful Italian/seafood menu. We we definitely go back."

  • "As we climbed in our cab after exiting Piccolo Sogno, my husband said: "There wasn't anything that wasn't perfect.". That pretty much sums up our dining experience there. Our attentive and experienced server ensured we would have a wonder dining experience, but the food, oh the food, was absolutely incredible. The Pizza was terrific but the Branzini was perhaps the best fish we have ever tasted. Piccolo Sogno succeeds in affording its diners a truly memorable dining experience. You just can't beat professionals and that is what this restaurant is full of. Highly, highly recommend!"

You wouldn't know it from the outside, given it's location on a six-corner street, but it is warm, friendly and very inviting once you're inside. I've been here twice, and have zero complaints...nothing but praise for this fabulous spot. Keep up the great work, guys!"

  • "Great food and service, although our experience was ruined due to our seating. We were sat in the covered outdoor space in a corner, behind the door to top it off. The main restaurant had open tables, yet we were sat in this corner, where there was a draft and not much room next to a large party. It was below zero outside and this corner table was cold and drafty. We were expecting more from a nice restaurant and would have had a better experience if we had been sat at a better table. This should not happen at a place like this!"

My only complaint was the ricotta cheese cake. I didn't really enjoy this dessert, it was a bit dry and not creamy as I was expecting. Other than that, the experience was great. We will definitely be back in the summer to enjoy the outdoor patio."

  • "I've been wanting to visit the restaurant for a long time and went on a Friday night taking advantage of Restaurant Week. I was under the impression is was a lot more expensive than it is - very reasonable! We had a reservation. I'm not a table snob, however the table they put us at was kind of a joke. We were wedged next to the bathroom and bar in a super high traffic area. There were 3 of us at dinner, accompanied by at least one stranger's butt at all times. The rest of the restaurant looked nice, but we weren't back in that portion. That table really shouldn't be there. I'd recommend this restaurant however I'd tell you to ask for another table vs. sitting out near the bar. That's a pretty miserable experience on a busy night."

  • "I have been going to PS for years, and it is as good as ever. Food-wise, the fresh pasta dishes are simple, yet sophisticated, and consistently delicious. My personal favorite is the squid-ink pasta "frutti di mare". What makes PS special, though, is the service. Chef Tony and the staff go out of their way to create a memorable dining experience, paying attention to all of the little details that matter. Even during the winter months, when the outstanding outdoor patio is closed, PS feels and tastes like home."

  • "I chose this spot for my boyfriend's birthday dinner. We've traveled and been to different types of restaurants and let me just say that if it wasn't for us seeing and getting a picture with Mayor Rahm Emanuel this night would have been a total bust. We've been to Italy and have a pretty good sense of their flavors, etc. and Piccolo Sogno was very far from it. I was so anxious to support "the little dream", but it really missed the bar for us. I ordered the beef short ribs - my plate was not flavorful at all. I had to add salt and pepper to season it a bit. To say the least, my plate was better than my boyfriends, he ordered the spaghetti neri "frutti di mare" because he wanted to experience the black spaghetti and it was not good at all."
