  • "The only thing I can say is that it was fantastic. The food was great as well as the service."

  • "So consistent, excellent quality, delicious Sea Bass, and Pastas."

  • "I always come to Piccolo Sogno in the summertime for a romantic night on the outdoor patio. I made reservations in advance and upon my arrival, I still had to wait about 25 minutes (after being told it would just be 5) to be seated; just for a party of two. Our waiter took another 15 minutes to come over, and we had to ask for the wine list 3 times before he actually brought it. The busboy (I wish I would have gotten his name) was FAR more hardworking and considerate than the waiter."

  • "We had reservations, but it took a minute for us to be seated. And this restaurant is cited as a romantic spot, but the seats are a little too tightly packed for that element (at least at 6pm on a Sunday). Nonetheless the backyard garden is beautiful and the staff recognized that we were celebrating a birthday without me having to say so (I stated it in my reservation notes but did not mention it at the restaurant) -- so that was great. Good service, good food, and so conveniently close to the blue line."

  • "Amazing set up, fabulous food and FANTASTIC SERVICE! Ricardo gave us a top notch service. WAs very nice of him to give us heads up that the fish of the day would take about 30 min to get out. We just enjoyed our antipasta and a beautiful outdoor seating"

  • "Of course, the food is wonderful! The setting, either inside or outside, is very attractive. The service is great. This is certainly my favorite restaurant in the city and would be delighted to go there any time."

  • "It doesn't get any better than dining on the outdoor patio/garden here. The Italian food is as good as it gets and the setting is beautiful!"

  • "This is a top restaurant in Chicago. And if you throw in the fantastic outdoor dining in the summer it catapults it into it's own stratosphere. Every aspect has a superior quality."
    Dined on 6/12/2014
  • "The food was excellent, the service was just right, and the outdoor seating great. Also it's location is fantastic ... easy access from the burbs."

  • "Love Piccolo Sogno. One of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. Every dish is fabulous for flavor and ingredients."

  • "Fantastic, friendly, welcoming service. The food is even better. The branzino special is great. The Spaghett Neri is the best pasta dish, maybe best dish, I've ever had. Pasta is as good as, if not better than Spiaggia and you're in a more fun, less stuffy, and less expensive atmosphere. The back patio in the summer is beautiful. I love this place. "

  • "Dined out for our anniversary. The food was great. Service was a bit spotty as the room filled up all at once because there was a Blackhawks game that night. Waiter seemed a bit over whelmed. Still the food impressed! "

  • "We came to celebrate our anniversary and are happy we did. From beginning to end it was an excellent meal in a beautiful setting. Our favorites were the soft shell crab special entree, the spinach gnocchi & pear/arugula salad. The service & ambience make the excellent food even better! We'll be back."

  • "On a Thursday night my husband and I had a lovely, delicious dinner on the patio of Piccolo Sogno. The fava bean salad was a unique treat and the pastas were wonderful. Hazelnut lava cake with hazelnut ice cream was rich and flavorful. The very next day, after our granddaughter's 8th grade graduation, we were looking for a place for lunch, and someone suggested Piccolo Sogno. Our son called, and they said to come right over. So we found ourselves again on the patio, with a quickly set table for 9, and a group of servers who seemed dedicated just to us; and they were particularly patient and friendly to the 3 children. The cozze (mussels) appetizer was particularly good, as was the orechiette with veal sauce! Two great meals in a row!"

  • "After an excellent first experience during a business trip, a year later dinner was not so memorable. Bad advice on wine and my rabbit (which I was told was superb) was rather dry and the size of a chipmunk. My friend's dinner was also pretty average. Staff were friendly and still had an enjoyable evening but the food was uninspiring."

  • "As always, they didn't disappoint. We had super service, great food and an overall good experience. "

  • "Their gluten free pasta is very good. It tastes homemade and is cooked to the perfect consistency."

  • "When I write energetic, I mean noisy (not a positive to me). The food is always very good. "

  • "Great outdoor patio. I had burrata cheese on a bed of ham. The ham was bland; to balance the excellent cheese, it needs to be a higher quality. As an entree, I had pasta stuffed with truffles and ricotta in a sauce packed with truffles. It was good but not superb. Service was attentive."

  • "This restaurant is my "go-To" place whenever I have out of town guests. It never disappoints."

  • "Took a friend for b day and was very special.. Seemed to rush a bit but enjoyed "

  • "The food and service were top-notch, easily meriting a return. Availability of parking is a plus, and it is convenient to two public bus lines and a subway. Hard to beat accessibility. My only cavil might be the space for each table and the resulting noise level of that proximity. Still, we will return, time and again, as my wife loves the place. "

  • "Piccolo Sono is my favorite neighborhood go-to IF you can get in. It is very popular --why, because the food is so darn good!"

  • "spent a great deal of money only to be asked if we would leave our round table- they wanted it for another guest........ HORRIBLE Don't bring your business guests there......unless you don't mind staff embarrassing you- when I got the manager on duty- HE said.......next time it happens ( NEXT TIME????????- there will never be a next time) let him know) come on Picocolo Sogno- you just lost this customer- Plenty of other rest. who give better service.............food is ok- but service is MORE important. "

  • "We had Mother's day lunch at Piccolo Sogno. As usual the service was outstanding, as well as the food. The specials for the day were terrific and the staff did a great job of accommodating the numerous families with small kids out on the patio. "

  • "The weather cooperated and we were able to enjoy a fantastic Italian style lunch for Mother's Day outside on their gorgeous patio. The waiter and food were fantastic. I will be back."

  • "I heard great things about this place, but I have to say it did not live up to the expectations. Food was average, nothing great. The place was very noise, we could barely talk to each other. And it was not cheap..."

  • "Great food! Authentic Italian cuisine. Great atmosphere!"
    Dined on 5/4/2014
  • "While the ambiance is wonderful, the food is just okay. We ordered an appetizer of chick pea fries and they were so dry and not dipping sauce was offered. While we asked for some sort of dipping sauce - they brought us marinaro which was not appropriate for this type of app. Then we find out they charged us $4 for the sauce. Even ranch dressing would have been better but when we had this same dish at a 5 star California resort they offer a nice alieo sauce. The main dishes were ok but were so full of butter we figured that's all they use to make the food test good. Will not go back anytime soon."

  • "Introduced an out of town friend to this wonderful place and she will definitely be back. Food was excellent, as was the service. Only sorry it was a bit too chilly to sit outside, as the garden is certainly the best in the city. "

  • "Service is exemplary, there was always someone to catch your eye, but only if something was needed, not overtly hovering. The special of roasted veggies w/ procciutto was extremely flavorful. Salmon was cooked perfectly, asparagus and potatoes a perfect accompaniment. Each bite was a dream. My last night in Chicago did not disappoint. "
