Piccolo SognoExcellentVery good service and interesting menu with excellent preparation. And, eating on the outdoor terrace was a great treat!5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyable experienceI surprised my wife with the choice of restaurant. She has been to Piccolo Sogno Due a few times and likes it a lot. This was my first time at either restaurant and I am glad I made the choice. We received great service from the moment we walked in. I mentioned to the waiter that we were pressed for time and he made sure to stay attentive. At one point, I was looking around the room taking in the ambiance and one of the other waiters came over thinking I was looking for assistance. I appreciate when the wait staff is alertly scanning the room to see if a patron needs help even if it is not their table. The food was tasty. We are definitely coming back!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMTop Notch ItalianI took my parents out to Piccolo Sogno this weekend. They're definitely the foodie types, and always appreciate a good Italian meal. Well Piccolo did not disappoint! As soon as we walked into the dining room, all I could smell was the sweet aroma of truffles! So of course, I had to have them. The three of us shared an appetizer, the baby artichoke salad. Fantastic. It was light and perfect for a shared appetizer. We each had three very different pasta dishes for our entrees. We all shared, and each agreed that all three were equally delicious but different.
Service was also really great. Our waitress gave great recommendations and was always available if we needed anything. This is definitely a good find and I'll be back.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific foodHi quality execution of food. Very friendly staff.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazingThe food was excellent! We have been wanting to try this restaurant for a few years and kept choosing other restaurants over it (too many Italian restaurants in Chicago to choose from), however, I am so glad we finally did! The special pasta with truffles and ricotta was unbelievably good and the hazelnut dessert is my new fave. Can't wait to go back!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful patioGreat place for alfresco dining! Beautiful patio! Stick with pastas and meat here, rich in flavor and very well done. Highly recommend the mushroom ravioli or the lamb shank. Little disappointed in their pizzas and their fish (small portions).5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGracious and AccommodatingHad reservations for 3, but after arrived requested switch to a table for 4 to accommodate another friend. Readily moved to a larger
table. Excellent service including accelerating , but not rushed service to allow us to make concert on time. Can't wait to return when I have more time to enjoy a more leisurely meal. The outdoor dining experience is great.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMCome early to get a seat inCome early to get a seat in the garden when the weather is warm!4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMPatio breezePatio was great atmosphere for an unusually warm evening. It was annoying that we wanted a later reservation but open table said it was booked. The restaurant was empty and available tabes still remained throughout our meal. We would have preferred to come later. Makes me wonder if opentable is not as accurate as a phonecall to the restaurant.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMPiccolo Sogno is always terrific.Piccolo Sogno is always terrific. Great food, wonderful outdoor patio, friendly service. One of our favorite City spots.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways Great from Food LoverMy first visit to the new restaurant but it offerred the same fine food and service. As a matter of fact enjoyed the boars meat sauce with homemade pasta I had enjoyed on Halsted and it was just as I remembered, delicious. We sat near the river, still not summer but it was nice to be semi outside. The service was supurb. I had artichoke and ricotta filled ravioli, the serving portion was right I suppose but I could have used a few more. We came back after a show for desert and had the gelatto with a nightcap, super.
Always on my top list.
JIMA4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellant overall. PerfectlyExcellant overall. Perfectly cooked fish, veal and pasta dishes. Branzinp served whole and superbly carved was wonderful. Wide ranging Italian wine list with many choices in the 50$ range. Reasonable prices for the quality. Lovely outdoor seating in good weather.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my first time hereThis was my first time here - I had heard lots of good things and was not disappointed. The servers were extremely knowledgeable, patient and helped us formulate a meal that allowed us to try a little of everything. The authentic pasta was to die for.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMItaly comes to Chicago in the bestI love this restaurant. Their food is so authentic Italian! One of the best in the city. I try to come in the summer to dine in their garden area, which is like being transported to the countryside. But come anytime for real Italian food - and waiter too. I had the special of the day which was a lamb ragu over wide noodles. It was rich and satisfying without being overpowering. They sauce their pasta more lightly than many Italian places. But this is how it is done in Italy. I also had the calamari as an appetizer and it was tender, flavorful and not overly breaded. The chickpea "fries" were interesting, but somewhat bland. I wouldn't get them again. Over all a wonderful lunch experience.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat FoodJust a wonderful authentic italian restaurant. I highly recommend it4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMI just love this place. MovedI just love this place. This is one of the very best Italian restaurants in the country, without impugn. Across all aspects ~ service, ambiance, cuisine, price. Always a great meal. Best Branzino ever!4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best meals thatOne of the best meals that I have enjoyed. We split the burrata appetizer - mozzarella and prosciutto, which was excellent. For our pasta courses, we had the spinach gnocchi and cheese ravioli. Both were perfectly prepared, but the cheese ravioli had perfect flavors complemented with pine nuts. For the main course, we selected the sea bass. This dish was simply prepared, but had great depth of flavors. Last but not least, we had the chocolate cake with hazelnut gelato. This was the perfect ending to a great night. Will definitely return on our next trip to Chicago.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and lovely experience.Another excellent dinner at piccolo sogno! We had great service this time (have had snooty waiters a couple of times), all our entrees were fantastic. Lovely biscotti and panama cotta for dessert. Aperitifs and wine selection guided by waiter were all excellent. We just live this place for special occasions or dinner with friends!! Sensible portions, good bread, olive oil, balsamic and Parmesan. Very authentically Tuscan.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was completelyEverything was completely outstanding...and it's not like this was our first visit. I was initially disappointed they no longer had the Amarone (wine)available by the glass, but the waitperson guided me to a terrific Pinot (not the most expensive on the list, either). Just perfect.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThis has been and remainsThis has been and remains one of my all time favorite restaurants! PS never fails in its consistently flavorful and fresh dishes. Love it!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMSimply THE BESTThis remains our favorite Chicago restaurant. The whole grilled branzino is just the BEST there is. They need a bigger table for a party of 4. The table size is hard to work with.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat findWe found this place by an online recommendation when searched for best Chicago Italian restaurants. We had a reservation, valet was easy, we were seated right away. Our waitress was ready with recommendations. The staff was bustling the whole time. The accoustics were really good. The food was excellent. We had certain dietary restrictions and they were more than willing to make adjustments or create anything not on the menu.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMI was told of this restaurantI was told of this restaurant and finally had a chance to have dinner there. This was truly a great find. If you like regional Italian cusine, this is a must place. It was somewhat busy due a Medical meeting, but the service was outstanding, all our selections
were well prepared with correct seasoning and temperature and thoughtfully presented.
The only drawback was the noise level, but considering the restaurant was full, this was
still a great spot.
They have a second restaurant and I will also try that one later
I look forward to going again3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed Piccolo Sogno onWe enjoyed Piccolo Sogno on spring break with our two teenage boys. Everyone enjoyed the meal and the ambiance. Even though it was the first evening of Chicago Chef's Week and the place was packed, we had outstanding service. This is a very good evening and food is one step out of Tuscany. The risotto was sublime.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMIndeed a little dream! An overall phenomenal experience. The service is superior, yet warm and friendly. The environment is casual and vibrant , the menu and daily specials were awesome. The chef's antipasto of the day was varied and excellent... a meal for one and great for sharing. The ravioli and rabbit were scrumptious and the mille foglie for dessert... to die for! We brought in our own bottle of Amarone and our wine glasses were suited to the wine. We will come again when in Chicago.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMBest pasta in chicagoI loved this place. We went for dinner. I had the Ragu...it was incredible.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was ok I think the patioFood was ok I think the patio is probably the draw. I was craving carpaccio and they didn't have it
Great service3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyed dinner at PiccoloEnjoyed dinner at Piccolo Sogno last week with a girlfriend and had an amazing time. The food and service was fantastic and we were able to enjoy a leisurely meal. Love this restaurant every time!3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMMagnifico!Piccolo Sogno is one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. Chef Tony Priolo has mastered Italian cooking at it's finest. His branzino is one of the freshest and well prepared I've ever encountered. If you're looking for outdoor dining they have a huge patio that is simply beautiful. The wine list is huge and awesome. The staff is always friendly and attentive. Whether I'm going just to meet friends or bringing an out-of-town guest I can always count on Piccolo Sogno to deliver high-quality, delicious Italian food.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the finest ItalianOne of the finest Italian restaurants in Chicago. They work hard to make certain their service is excellent and the food never disappoints. Wait staff strives to be helpful in creative ways. Recent lunch included salads, lamb ragout pasta, and sea bass. Waiter suggested we split our pasta and seafood entres, and what would have been a tasty two-course lunch, became a memorable three-course feast.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodAll of our food was excellent! The waiter was nice but very forgetful. Other than that it was good. It's a treat to come here to eat2/25/2013 12:00:00 AMFinally, we were able to getFinally, we were able to get a table at the ideal time on weekend evening. The servers, the food, the ambiance were all superb. The only down side was the seating. We were seated at the room closest to the porch, and thus sitting on the wall side was a bit cold. Despite that, all the rest of the experience was so good that we decided to return soon when we have a chance. Highly recommended.2/22/2013 12:00:00 AMLived up to their reputation!Great food, even better service. The menu is fantastic, wines wonderful, and ambiance fantastic. Based on all the reviews, though, this was no surprise! Piccolo Songno lived up to the expectations and I look forward to going back!1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
