Fabulous food and service. Had a
certificate from benefit and we're received and treated as though we were very special. Food and wine pairings were spectacular. A totally enjoyable dining experience. Noise level is a bit loud for conversation. "

Consistent food and service.
Always a great experience. Spaghetti neri and risotto are a must "

Piccolo Sogno is a favorite. Went
for lunch. Free parking. Amazing food. The pizza and signature Piccolo Sogno four cheese ravioli is so good. Loved every bite! The service is always so attentive, friendly, helpful. I just love this restaurant for lunch or dinner. It's great. "

Every dish was unique and
tastefully presented. I really enjoyed the seafood linguine. The appetizer portion option for the pastas was greatly appreciated....we were able to order more dishes and share! I was really impressed. Will be back when I return to Chicago!"

We had a simple lunch of salad and
Branzino and it was delicious. I look forward to my return."
Dined on 4/8/2014
One dish (gnocchi) didn't hit it
out of the park but the other two (truffle ravioli and grilled seafood with caper sauce) absolutely did. I'd go back for those dishes! The atmosphere is a bit loud if you're looking for a quiet, romantic night yet there's still a lot of charm you'd look for in a date night restaurant."

Food is good but host and wait
staff a little on the rude side"

I will admit a preference for
smaller restaurants, but large ones can be pleasant too as long as they don't feel like an assembly line operation. My party (on two occasions) thought that PS felt a bit "industrial." The staff gives the impression that they are eager to hurry the meal along and turn the table as quickly as possible. I will give the restaurant extra credit, however, for its thoughtful approach to handling picky diners. The wait staff is very well informed about the contents of each dish on the menu and provides helpful suggestions about menu options and ways that the kitchen can modify dishes to suit diners with food allergies or aversions -- without making the picky eater feel like she is odd or troublesome. Kudos!"

We hadn't dined at Piccolo Sogno
for quite some time and were pleasantly surprised. The food was fantastic as was the service. We will definitely be back to enjoy the patio I the summer."
Dined on 4/4/2014
My mother was a great cook but she
is no longer here so I look for places that are authentically Italian. We celebrated my wife's birthday here with our son and all three of us left happy and satisfied. The service was perfect and cheerful. The wine (a nice chianti reserve) was a perfect compliment to the meal. Right down to the deserts I could not have asked for anything more. I was so happy that my wife's birthday was an unqualified success, They even remembered to put happy birthday on her desert without med reminding them (I told them on the reservation) What can I say but.... Questo ristorante è sicuramente la pena provare. Non sarà dispiaciuto. Lo consiglio a voi ! PS I am originally from Little Italy in NY"

My Open Table requests for seating
arrangements were followed exactly as I wanted. Our table was cozy. Service was impeccable. The ravioli were probably the best I have ever had. I will definitely have to try the patio in the summertime."
Dined on 4/2/2014
I started with the shaved baby
artichoke salad and it was fantastic. I've had it before at other restaurants, but this was the best I ever had. I then had the Piccolo Sogno ravioli, which was also very good, but not as good as the salad. One of our party had the branzino and loved it."
Dined on 4/1/2014
One of the best restaurant
experiences in years. Alexandra and her helpers created the best service we have ever experience. Very attentive and professional. The food was perfect. Every stage was beautifully presented and the best Italian flavors. Sorry Tuscany...sorry Saranello's....sorry Francesca's. Piccolo is a far better dining experience."

Wow on the food and service.
Creative broad spectrum menu with nice specials. We went on a busy Saturday night with a reservation and were seated immediately in a restaurant that was packed to the gills. So loud we could not talk to each other across the table. Perhaps this is just a Saturday night problem but the food was so good and reasonable price we will come back"

Great service and fabulous food!
Piccolo Sogno never disappoints. Love it!!"

We had a nice romantic dinner for
two. The food was wonderful and the service outstanding. THe only thing I would change would be the sound level. The room was a little louder than we would have liked but that won't keep us from going back."

"Excellent food and wiling to
customize your selection to satisfy your palate". Very attentive staff without being overbearing. We were able to conduct a business conversation without feeling disturbed or rushed, An extremely nice touch is the appetizer pizza provided without request or charge. Overall, a delightful experience."
Dined on 3/26/2014
Great dinner as usual. Quiet when
we arrived but got progressively louder. Food was excellent and timed nicely. Great selection of Italian wine to choose from."

Our evening at this restaurant
moved a very famous restaurant aside and is now our favorite Italian restaurant in Chicago. Our server was prompt in greeting us and provided impeccable service throughout the evening. Cocktails were mixed as requested and raised our level of expectation for food choices. And was it met! My wife had the shaved artichoke salad and found it as delicious as the unusual preparation. My pear and arugula salad was equally delicious. My wife said the linguine with clams was the best she had ever eaten. The veal ragu over green/white pasta was very tasty in an appetizer portion. My halibut and vegetable entree was cooked to perfection. This will be the first restaurant we select when we return to Chicago."
Dined on 3/24/2014
Great place to grab a quick lunch
too. Menu is smaller but good is just as delicious. Homemade pastas and bread are outstanding. Try the specials. Well worth it."
Dined on 3/24/2014
Best Italian food in the city.
Best patio as well although it wasn't open this night. amazing homemade pasta and sauces. have never had a bad dish and its always tough to decide what to get because everything is great. Lasagna is the best ever. straw and hay veal ragu is amazing. can't say enough positive things"
Dined on 3/22/2014
This is by far one of my favorites
in the city…by far! Love the food, the matte' d. The servers…Alexandra was just wonderful to us. And…the outdoor deck is sublime."
Dined on 3/16/2014
From the bread, oil, and balsamic
on the table to the pasta and amazing dessert. Everything was great!"
Dined on 3/14/2014
Food and service are always great.
Every one liked everything."
Dined on 3/14/2014
Piccolo Sogno is consistent. The
pasta dishes are the best. The deserts can be better, but all in all a good meal."
Dined on 3/11/2014
One of my favorite places to go
for business lunches when we have some time and can sit outdoors."
Dined on 7/18/2013
Food is always good at Piccolo
Sogno. This particular evening service was very slow. We had to flag down our waiter several times, we tried to tell the bus buy but all they would do is mumble I will get your waiter."
Dined on 2/16/2014
After receiving several
recommendations about this place from family and friends we decided to go and take our two year. The service was amazing as well as the good. It was a wonderful trio date might! Great food and great service!"
Dined on 3/7/2014
You would never know from the
outside appearance what is hidden inside. The made to order fresh dishes were unbelievable. Waitstaff courteous and attentive. I loved the atmosphere in traditional upscale Italian without the upscale pricing."
Dined on 3/5/2014
I took my boyfriend there for his
30th birthday - which, to me, is a big deal - and this dining experience did not disappoint! The food was delicious and well-made (I highly recommend the Spaghetti Neri Frutti de Mare) and the service is even better to boot! We went all out so I spent a little bit of money for two people but we also took home enough food for a small meal and was pretty sloshed."
Dined on 3/2/2014
The ambience is great for a
romantic meal and I have never been disappointed the several times I have had dinner. The branzino is my goto entree' and have suggested to my guests as well."
Dined on 3/1/2014
Everything was fine: the food, the
service, the overall sense of the place, all good but a step back from past visits when I would have rated everything very good or excellent. I hope it was just the evening and not a lasting change."
Dined on 2/28/2014
Took my aunt here as a special
treat. We started with a bottle of pinot grigio and a super tasty chianti poached pear salad with arugula and goat cheese. Then I had the bolognese with ricotta stuffed pasta and it was....ok. I felt like maybe it had been sitting under heat lamps for a little while because the sauce on the pasta had dried somewhat, and the pasta wasn't piping hot, it was just warm. The flavors were great, though and I completely ate my plate clean, so I consider it a success. Next time maybe I would try the pizza... For dessert we got the hazelnut chocolate lava cake with hazelnut gelato and oh my god YUM. I had a delicious cappuccino to go with it, and honestly I would go just for the dessert. It was incredible."
Dined on 2/25/2014
Outstanding authentic Italian food
and a comfortable place for dinning"
Dined on 2/8/2014
Too noisy for conversation. Salmon
entree like that an airline would serve on a plane.. Mediocre at best. Don't understand why the buzz."
Dined on 2/22/2014
This was the kind of meal where
you make "food face" with every bite, where you eat slowly to savor all the flavors, and where leftovers the next day taste just as good as they did at the restaurant. Service was great, prices were reasonable, and we can't wait to go back!"
Dined on 2/15/2014
What a wonderful valentines dinner
spot! My pasta was perfect and we split a lovely bottle of wine. We were a little squeezed in, which is to be expected for a holiday. Only complaint is we never received the olives we ordered."
Dined on 2/14/2014
Piccolo Sogno is one of those
restaurants that never disappoints. Four of us had the branzino, excellent. The staff is super-knowledgeable, wonderful service."

I was so excited to dine here
reading all the reviews. Food was just mediocre. Ordered 2 appetizers two dinners and one dessert. The only thing I was impressed with was the pizza and the drinks. Kudos to the bartender that was working that night. I would only go back here to sit at the bar for drinks maybe order the pizza."
Dined on 2/9/2014
This is my 3rd time here, and OMG
this could have been the best meal I've ever had. I ordered the pasta special--dumplings in a porcini mushroom broth. The flavor was amazing--perfect balance of salt with Parmesan cheese. Also, the burrata appetizer was amazing. I feel so lucky this place is in my neighborhood as well! I will continue to recommend this place."
