I love coming here! That said, this time we were stuffed way back into a corner, even though there were other tables for 2 available (I suppose we could have asked to switch but did not). My entree was not hot. Kind of lukewarm. Very very tasty, but wish it had been hotter. Again, my fault for not making a fuss!

Not what I expected for an "Eater 38" restaurant. I had eaten at Anteprima, another Eater 38 just a few days before, and I'd give Piccolo Sogno a C to Anteprima's A+. The best thing about the place was the Barbaresco wine, but it was 3x the price of the Nero d'Avola at Anteprima, and while it's an apples and oranges thing, they were comparably delicious (and, sort of tellingly, Piccolo brought a different bottle to the table, saying it turned out they didn't actually have the one I ordered). An art gallerist, paraphrasing someone else, no doubt, once put it this way when we were looking at pieces of art: The great is the enemy of the good. That sums it up for me here; Anteprima, the great, is the enemy of the merely good, Piccolo.

My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to dine on the gorgeous patio on a nice spring night. I don't think our experience would have been as good if we sat inside, it was very noisy and seemed humid and stuffy.
We were very impressed with the wine list and the manager's recommendation. We both loved our entrees (stracci di farro and the entree special with scallops) but were underwelmed with the appetizer selection.
Overall it was a nice experience, and we would love to go back with family and friends or just the two of us.

Best Branzino fish I've ever had. Whole menu was terrific. Everyone in our party of four loved their entrees, appetizers and salads.
Also, they found us a really nice bottle of wine in our price range off the menu. Great service - professional but very welcoming. Now one of our favorite dining stops.

I am so glad to be back to this very fine Italian Restaurant in the near westside! I brought friends visiting for the Holy Week. we were warmly greeted and promptly sat. My guests noticed right away the charm of the place, comfortable noise level. It was after 9 PM on a Thursday but the place was still bustling! The service was very attentive and our server, very helpful with our choices, wine questions and recommendations. I had the whole fish (sea bass) once again and it was perfectly done! Wine recommendations were perfect! Surely, I will come back again, maybe with more friends this time! Thank you!
