Welcome to “Piccolo Ristorante”, which in Italian translates to “little restaurant”. We are a family owned and operated restaurant focusing on an intimate dining experience, ensuring you will feel our hands on and passionate approach to dining. From excellent personal service to delicious food and wine pairings, it will prove to be a memorable experience.

Our goal is to make you feel our love and dedication to our food and service from the moment you walk through our doors. We take pride in every detail of our restaurant and know that you will taste and see the difference.

All our menu items have been specially crafted by our Chef and Owner Andres Avayu, made with only the highest quality of fresh ingredients. His experience in Italian Kitchens and his passion for perfection contribute significantly in creating a diverse menu of traditional dishes from the various regions of Italy.

  • "This is a sweet family owned place with 10 tables that if filled would give diners no private space. The menus were too physically large and the entree selections too few. We went at 7:00 pm on a weekday and they were out of two entrees and another was not ready yet. I'm sorry to say this about a local place owned by locals..."

  • "WHO KNEW? PICCOLO, is a tiny restaurant. A reservation is a MUST. The bread, is worth every carb, and the food is just over the top. We started our experience with the crab cake stack. Crab cake with avocado middle layer and chopped tomato base. OMG. My husband had the grilled veal chop, he said it is one of the best he has ever eaten. I had the grilled rosemary salmon over asparagus. I asked for it crisp, and it was delivered to me perfectly. The menu is limited, but Everything we observed looked beautiful. We look forward to coming back in the near future. OH YES, they are welcome personal wines, and are very gracious about it. Corkage fee: $20.00."

  • "Everything about this place was wonderful! Loved the cozy feel and attentive staff. It was so small you felt like someone was really cooking for just you! The meat balls and salad were delicious and the short ribs....OMG! My husband and I were basically licking the plate they were so good! We shared the Almond Basket with fresh fruit for desert (not something i would have ever gone for) but it was so good there was nothing left on the plate! I can't wait to go back! It was fabulous."

  • "This very small establishment makes you feel very welcome right from the start. Alison runs the front of the house and her husband is the chef. There are only about 12 tables, so the service is very attentive. The wine list is more than adequate and fairly priced. The menu is sized so as not to overextend the kitchen by way of effort or ingredients. We moved into the neighborhood a month ago and have been twice. A truly wonderful experience."

My only complaint is that the menu was quite limited and they were out of a very popular main course at 7:30 on a Saturday evening. Service is very pleasant, but a bit slow...When the food comes, however, it is worth the wait! We shall return."

Our sharing group of 7 celebrated a birthday with entire fantastic menu! Starters-- the meatballs and ricotta, crab cake on avocado, chive gazpacho, a pear salad w brie, carpaccio w truffle oil and shaved parmigiana. Mains -Chianti braised short ribs, perfectly grilled veal chops, amatriciana of pancettta and carmelized onions. Sublime lemon asparagus + white truffle porcini risotti accompaniments. A specially requested birthday dessert of Sabayon & fresh fruits, 3 bottles of a well paired Sicilian Nero claret & Jeremiah's attentive service made it an evening to cherish. Bellisimo."

  • "Where does one begin. On our first visit to this restaurant we were amazed. At this somewhat out of the way shopping center location a wonderful dining experience awaits. Husband is the chef and oh boy can he cook. Each and every item we ordered was full of flavor and perfect. His wife is the General Manager and she helps out where needed including table service and wine pairings. Her brother is the waiter. These three made this a perfect dining experience in a place we simply didn't expect to find it. It has the feel of visiting a family operated European restaurant and we like that. Not many seats, very attentive service, and food so good you start asking yourself how come I haven't been here before. Enjoy!!"

  • "Seven of us went for happy hour on Monday...appetizers are 1/2 price. The food and service is perfection! Each item is made from scratch by the two cooks in the kitchen. They start you off with homemade focaccia bread topped with herbs, tomato, and onion. Easy free parking in the front of restaurant. Very small intimate restaurant with only about 10 tables. I will definitely return!"

  • "Absolutely delightful! It was so nice to have the entire staff of a restaurant really care about the dining experience. Not just great food and service, but a genuine feeling of wanting the patrons to enjoy the experience came through at every turn. The porcini risotto was fabulous! The "almond-bowl" in which the deserts are served is alone worth the trip. Every dish was magnificent. The wine list, although small, is very well thought out, with good bottles in the $50.00 range. We live an hour away, but will no doubt make it a point to return."

  • "I was searching for 2 days trying to look for something different to take my girlfriend to. Family owned, it was a very slow night i'm assuming because they only had one waiter for 3 tables. There was two older couples in the restaurant when we walked in, needless to say i thought for sure I had made a mistake. Then after looking around at the tables and placements (I work for the best catering company in Miami, i'm so used to how things are presented its second nature) the tables were set to a 'T' no slanted silverware or off colored napkins. The waiter was how i expected, very formal Italian service(obviously) but it went farther, knew exactly what he was talking about and could explain to detail all the entrees on the menu."

They use top-quality, fresh ingredients to serve authentic Italian apps, pastas, risotto and entrees at moderate prices. Well thought-out wine list. There are relatively few tables (hence the name, Piccolo!) so you may want to call ahead on weekends."

  • "This was a great find. The food was wonderful,our entres were specials, Grouper & Mahi Mahi which were prepared very different, delicious and the presentation was very creative. Our appetizer was a crab cake tower which was topped with lump crabmeat and a very different sauce made of avocado relish and fresh chopped tomato gazpacho it was wonderful. Our desert was a cheesecake with fresh assorted berries. I would highly recomend this restaurant. The server Josiah was very knowledgeable. Great wine list also. On my grouper entres were tiny berries called Sweetie Drops which were delicious I never had them and inquired about them and I was told that they were Peruvian and were peppers, although they didn't taste like a pepper at all."

  • "Was anxious to try a new place close to our home. Hostess was very nice, but as a waitress, left something to be desired. Service was slow, but since we were not in a hurry, no big deal. I ordered the fish special and it was very salty and overcooked. The most disappointing, however was when we requested more bread, we were told there would be a per person charge! Very disappointing, considering the price of an entree ($30-40). Glad we tried it, but I won't be back. There are far better Italian fine dining options in Fort Lauderdale."

  • "We really wanted to like this restaurant, but it still has some kinks to work out. Our waiter was somewhat amateurish. The lighting in the restaurant is too bright, and yet not bright enough. The need to dim the ceiling lights and focus on more lighting on the individual tables. Food: Crab cake appetizer was very good. Manicotti was average. Risotto had a rice like consistency...not at all creamy. Parmesan chicken was mediocre. Wine prices skew very high. I wouldn't go back. Better to try Lucca or Osteria Acqua and Farina for better Italian food at this price point."
