"Very nice ambiance, but the food was disappointing after some of the rave reviews I had read - wild salmon tasted farmed to me and was accompanied by bland rice that I would expect at Applebee's. Shrimp in my daughter's pasta dish was very tough. Service was annoying-too frequent checks on whether we were ready to order (menus were still open, guys- take the hint!) but then water wasn't refilled. Might try it again if I lived closer, but won't make a 50 minute trip - too pricey for the quality"

"Asked for a quiet table out of traffic when reservation was made on-line. We were given a table for two closest to kitchen door and the hallway to rest rooms. Definitely not out of traffic. Do not beleive the hostess even checked our reservation request. All waiters passed out table and guests as well. restaurant was fully packed and we accepted the table rather than wait. Food and service make up for the lousy table. Still disappointing when it is difficult to focus on food and conversation when there is a constant flow of traffic by the table. But again, the food is always consistently good, and the service is unbeatable. Lamb chops and pork tenderloin specials fabulous; beet/goat cheese and cauliflower/bechamel appetizers scrumptious."

"This is one of our favorite restaurants, but we don't dine there as often as we should. Our experience the other night was just fabulous. It was my wife's birthday and we were welcomed warmly at the front door as we arrived and were seated promptly. Choosing our meals from the menu was no easy task because everything sounded so delicious. The waiter helped by emphasizing some of the exceptional items, two of which we ended up choosing (the veal chop and the bay scallops). We couldn't have been more pleased when the food was served. We ended the meal with the warm granny apple crisp, which was served with a candle and a round of birthday wishes. We committed to ourselves that we would be going back more often as a result."

"Piccolo has been and continues to be one of my absolute favorite places on Long Island...
I'm guessing it's about 20 years I've been going there and I have NEVER left unhappy or disappointed... There are some standard favorites on the regular menu and the daily specials have always been creative, delicious and never the same old thing. The staff is top-notch and a few steps above outstanding... really great folks! This is a real gem that has managed to remain fresh and up-to-date over many years...not easily done in the restaurant world. Go...Eat...You'll be glad you did!!!"

"Reservation was made online & my party of 8 was seated promptly. The food was very good, with the exception of my pasta which was undercooked. My only true complaint was that after coffee & desert was served, the check was presented abruptly & they began taking our glasses & plates away before we were even finished. The restaurant was very crowded with a lot of people waiting. They made it obvious that they wanted us to leave. I would recommend the restaurant for its food, but I don't think I will be returning because I was very turned off by the way we were treated at the end of the evening. We were not hanging around too long & taking a table from others, just trying to finish our desert & wrap things up."

"Firstly, I have to say that the food is excellent-I have been going to this place over the years, and it is consistently good. However, we had an 8:45 reservation on a Saturday night, and we were not seated until 9:30! Also, I had let the staff know, by way of my reservation through Open Table, that it was my very close friend's birthday, and I expected that they would have that noted, for when we ordered the desert, which they did not. I was quite disappointed at that--a single candle brought with the desert would have been no bid deal for them, and they neglected to do it. Also, while we waited to be seated, the bar was so crowded, that we kept having to move here and there, to make room for the staff to come through. They clearly o"
