Piccolo MondoPiccolo Mondo 5 June 2013We selected the restaurant due to its proximity to our guest's hotel and the restaurant's reputation. My wife has dinner with clients at Piccolo Mondo from time to time.
We were not disappointed. My veal piccata was tender and flavorful while the other two in our party also enjoyed their entrees. The service was excellent and flexible as we explained early to our server that we were in no hurry.

I contacted a person who I knew had extensive experience in fine dining. I was interested in the wife's opinion, because I wanted a woman's perspective on how romantic the venue would be. So glad we visited Piccolo Mondo. It became our instant favorite.
From the wonderful meals, to the pianist, to the ever-attentive staff, it is always a delight to dine there. You may pay a bit more than the chain Italian restaurants, but what you get is so much more. We are not wine experts, but I know that frequently house wines can be very good, and cheaper than the other offerings on a wine list. Such was the case at Piccolo Mondo. Due to them growing up and all our different schedules we have been unable to do that. We had planned to go to Dallas and again, schedules would not allow. Our dinner
dinner experience was enjoyable and my girls thought it was a special, which was the key. Enjoyed. the piano player as did the other customers. The food was great and the ambience was even better. I needed a spot between Dallas and Fort Worth for a lunch meeting and this was perfect. Easy access from both Ft. Worth and Dallas. I was surprised at the quick serve time for a upscale restaurant @ noon, great food and perfect acoustics for business discussion. The lunch special exceeded the reasonable price point. The manager walked behind several different couples as they left and went out of the restaurant and watched them get into their vehicles before they left and when my daughter and I left he did the same thing. The manager also came by and asked how everything was and our reservation went perfect. As soon as we walked in there was no waiting around. I would highly recommend this restaurant. I took my wife there on our first Valentines date 12 years ago and have been several times prior to that. The place has not changed. The menu does not change very much and the specials rotate somewhat slowly where some always are on the board out front, which is a good thing because the list is long and enjoyable. I selected the Cod from the specials board and it was outstanding! A salad started the meal followed by pairing the cod with a Pino Grigio. For dessert... tiramisu and a cappuccino which was perfect! We brought friends with us and they also enjoyed it. It is nice to know that restaurants that already do things well don't try to reinvent themselves to try to be "better" because better when you do what they do isn't really "better".
