Diner Reviews
  • "Great service and dependable food. Very nice place to meet with friends,. Noise level is low so good for conversation."

  • "Good food! Attentive wait staff! Has the feel of a neighborhood restaurant/lounge with a definite upscale ambience. Unique atmosphere with a fabulous Pianist and diverse menu."

  • "Here is the problem with basing you selection on Open Table reviews....you just don’t know if those individuals REALLY know good food. Bread stale, waiter very inexperienced, Chilean Sea Bass (no way) over cooked and tasted of frozen. Tiramisu...mushy...almost certain was frozen at one time. Food was not fresh AT ALL."

  • "We were looking for a place to celebrate our anniversary and a friend recommended this place. It was easy to make reservations online. We got right in and had a wonderful time from beginning to end! Formal, yet comfortable. Great food and service! Loved the piano playing and saxaphone! They even surprised us with a dessert to help us celebrate! It couldn't have been any better! We will definitely go back! Thank you, Piccolo Mondo!"

  • "Not from the DFW area so wasn't sure of a nice local place for a first date. Didn't want to go to the usual corporate places, so did a little digging and came up with Piccolo Mondo. What a great choice, from the wait staff who left nothing to want, to the food which was excellent. I had the salmon in a white wine sauce and I can't rave about it enough. Not dry at all, and perfect portions, even for big guy like me. My date enjoyed her meal as well, and the romantic atmosphere allowed us to get to know another better. Would definitely recommend to anyone."

  • "Possibly the best example of don't fix it if it's not broken. These guys have been in business for 30 some odd-years in Arlington and they absolutely have the best Italian in the Midwest. Anytime I have a trip to the metroplex Dallas-Fort Worth area these guys are part of my trip. The lasagna is totally to die for."

  • "I took my nine member manager staff to lunch (all female). Everyone had a great time, the food was excellent, the service was absolutely unbeatable. We shared several appetizers that were a perfect start to the meal- the waiter did a good job of recommending the correct quantities for each appetizer. We had entrees of pasta, fish and meat. They were all delicious. Of course, the deserts were also excellent. I had requested a bit of privacy for our group and they sat us in a secluded corner that worked perfectly. There were a lot of other diners, mostly they looked like long term aficionados of the restaurant. I highly recommend Piccolo Mondo."

  • "Our evening started with a bit of a snafu when our online reservation was lost, but we were promptly seated anyway. It was explained that the Valentines Day rush had overwhelmed the system. It was our second visit and we have enjoyed the food and ambience on both occasions. The piano music is an added perk! Nice wine list but we tried the Peach Bellini's on this occasion and they were tasty!"

  • "PM has not evolved... Tired decor...and dark.... Tired menu......I mean the chopped lettuce salad with a "dressing" ?....you are really doing this !? Tired, inefficient moody staffing... Telling it like it is."

  • "I went on a double date for Valentine's Day. The food was great! I had steak with potatoes and spinach. The service was good; our glasses stayed full. My wife and friends love their entrée as well. They lived in Italy for 7 years, so they know good Italian food. They were very please with their meal. Will go back!!"

  • "The management was very accommodating and was managing very well with a large crowd for Valentines. The dinner and appetizers were very good as expected from past trips. The piano and Sax playing live was a nice addition to the the food and service. Thanks for a great evening!"

  • "Was just a wonderful experience from the moment we walked in until we left, The wait staff was great, explained and asked questions as to what we might enjoy, Food came out in a very timely manner and was cook to ordered, it was fresh and prepaired just perfectly. Can honestly say this will become one of my favorite places to enjoy!!"

  • "Piccolo Mondo is one of our very favorite restaurants in the DFW area! We always enjoy our meal because the food is excellent and the waiters are the best. I love their homemade sauces! Everything is cooked to perfection. The fish is a little crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The pasta dishes are the best!"

  • "Piccolo Mondo has been a favorite for many years. Love the house salad and dressing, they always have wonderful soups and their daily specials offer a great variety. Eggplant parmesean is one of my favorites and my husband likes the Mussels Marinara. You can't go wrong with their yummy garlic bread!"

  • "We had made reservations at E M and arrived a few minutes early. We were seated in a small side room immediately next to a large party. Almost immediately the other tables were filled. Server were actually running from table to table and he could not be understood. We asked for water with lemon along with wine. The water arrived and was almost thrown on the table. The skimpy glass of wine arrived and was also placed abruptly on the table. We ordered, and waited and waited and waited watching the server run from table to table because of mistakes. Our salads arrived...fair to be nice. The bread arrived....a bright spot. The meal arrived....mine was cool but my wife's was fine. Not sure I want to go through this experience again."

  • "When you grow up in the Northeast United States, live in Chicago and travel the globe, if you like food, you have most likely eaten in many of the finest restaurants around the world. Upon moving from Chicago in 1987 to DFW with American Airlines we searched for restaurants with the highest quality and service we could find for our dining out desires. Piccolo Mondo was one of our earliest discoveries and thanks be to God the food and service still exceeds our expectations today. The owner is there every night and many of the servers from the 80's are still there. The attention to the food quality and level of service in our experience has consistently been superior during each of our visits. Thank you!"

  • "I don't really take the time to do any reviews, but this place deserves it especially because of the service from our waiter and respect that you recieve from the staff; although, my girlfriend and I were sort of tired the ambience of the place kept us awake, but I have to say this place is romantic, fun, and quiet."

  • "I took my 23 yr old daughter for her birthday. She loves their spinach ravioli and their bread is the best! She and I had a fantastic time! The food was excellent, the waiter was fantastic and took care of us the entire evening. The piano player was great and the wine list was one of the best I have seen. Also, the owner comes around a greets you and checks in time to time giving you that personal touch. Excellent food with moderate pricing, a great staff that make you feel very Special, Extensive wine selection, and marvelous piano playing - what else could you ask for!! My daughter had the best time and so did I. We will go back more frequently! The food and service are one of The Best around."

  • "Very good food and service. Difficult to create ambience in a strip mall. Excellent wine list, but somewhat pricey. The specials are not to be missed."

  • "My wife and I went here for our anniversary. We started with Stuffed mushrooms and escargot. The mushrooms and marinara sauce were OK but the sausage stuffed inside was very mushy and bland. The escargot was a but more rubbery than it should have been and absorbed no flavor from the odd tasting sauce it was in. The Gamberi alla Provinciale (Shrimp dinner) neither my wife nor I liked, it tasted a bit too sour and needed a bit more reduction of the white wine. The Rolatine di Pollo (chicken stuffed with ham & cheese) wasn't very good either. I didn't like it but my wife found it tolerable. The ham was virtually nonexistent and the type of cheese was an odd flavor choice. ODD flavor combo's throughout meal. Excellent service and ambiance!"

  • "Piccolo Mondo is an outstanding "white table cloth" restaurant located in a North Arlington neighborhood. The food is consistently outstanding. Although known for signature Italian dishes, their steaks out excellent."

  • "I love this restaurant! I have been so many times and I would go again. The food is very good and the athmosphere is soothing. There is always live music playing (piano and/or other instruments) in the evenings. I do not believe that North Arlington has anything else like this place. Reservations are recommended especially on Friday and Saturday evenings. A great place to take that "Special" date! The pasta dishes are excellent, especially the Lasagna. The veal and the Salmon plates are also excellent. The appetizers are good , but the deserts are Ok."
