  • "Super Supper was had by all! We all decided to go for an early dinner and had a super supper at Piccolo Arancio on an early Saturday evening! The pasta dishes were divine, the fish dishes were fabulous, and the lamb was luscious! Go to Piccolo Arancio if you have not tried this gem in the Farmington Valley before! It is a very friendly, family and chef owned and operated restaurant that is well worth trying. Once you try it, I am sure you will go back. My personal favorite is the "Simply Grilled Salmon"! Enjoy"

  • "I am VERY CAREFUL with Carbohydrates, but wanted to try some of Piccolo Arancio's Pasta Sauces! So, I asked for a sauce to be served over sautéed spinach! It was delicious! I recommend trying that If you'd love to taste some great sauces without the carbs! I LOVE that Sal is so VERY FLEXIBLE on how the dishes are prepared and served. NOW, THAT is SERVICE!!"

  • "My husband, Daughter and I go to this restaurant every Friday that's how much we love it. The food is always good and the wait staff is awesome. Pasta is homemade and the gelato is too. They have the best Cinnamon and Pumpkin gelato that I have ever had. The short rib ravioli are to die for, get them whenever they are on special. Overall this restaurant is very consistent and the food is of the highest quality."

  • "The standard menu has everything that you'd expect to see and the quality of the food never disappoints. I also like the specials menu which is changed very regularly and provides a different slant on the standard menu. Whenever I'm in the area I always go here and every client I've taken there is very very impressed. The wine list is of a hight quality containing both domestic and international selections."

  • "Charming, relaxed atmosphere. We dined with some friends we hadn't seen for a while. Of course, we talked and talked! The waiter was most attentive but never hovering or interrupting. Food was lovely; regular menu is limited but extensive specialties menu takes advantage of seasonally fresh options. Very hard to choose but everyone enjoyed their choices. The stand-out was a skirt steak with a bacon marmalade! We were the last to leave the restaurant but the staff never rushed us, nor brought the bill until we requested it. True hospitality!! Cannot wait to return."

  • "Certainly expected more after all we heard. Very slow service, took 20 minutes before the waiter even poured us water and took our wine order. Service throughout was mediocre. Food was decent, but not good enough to outweigh the poor service and so-so atmosphere."

  • "This place is THE best Italian dining in 100 miles. Local, delicious, great owners and staff. I've dined here no less than 50 times, never a bad meal, always a great experience. The owners are local and actually work in the place, which is rule # 1 for Italian restaurants. No fake anything here. If you don't love Piccolo, then see a doctor, most likely a shrink."

  • "We had a surprise visit in the afternoon on Saturday and quickly added a person to our Saturday Night Reservations. We celebrated a "New Job" and a "Birthday Surprise" that night and EVERYONE had a Grand Time. The Filet Mignon was a MAJOR HIT with all who had that entree. The DESSERTS were a MAJOR HIT by all who had them. The service was exceptional! A GREAT Time was had by all! If you want a Great Place to Celebrate... head on over the Piccolo Arancio!"

  • "Took my spouse here for V-Day. Been coming here for 10 + years and the consistently great experience is a tribute to linited turnover in staff, fantastic menu and nice location. We used to visit more often when our daughters went to MPS around the corner. My spouse had the lamb chops which is enjoyed greatly after starting with the artichokes. I had the white bean soup and then the penne saltimbocca. It was all great! Service was the usual best being attentive, helpful but not hovering or intrusive. For a nice relaxed diner with great food and service Piccolo consistently delivers"

  • "This was my second time visiting Piccolo Arancio, and I was not disappointed. I came here for the food, and it was excellent. My only reserve this visit was my seating. I had 6:30 reservations for 2 and was placed at the table set for 4 cornering the servers computer and right in front of the bar. Tables were open elsewhere in the more private rooms and it was obvious I was there for a Valentine's Day dinner. The ambiance I experienced my first visit, was not matched this second visit. Still, I highly recommend this restaurant. The food and servers are excellent."

  • "My fiancée and I were excited to try this place for the first time, as we live in the area and have always heard good things about it. After coming for dinner on Valentines Day, we have to question those who recommended it. I ordered the seafood sampler to start; it came out lukewarm and the shrimp were smothered in Cajun seasoning (which I might not have minded if I wasn't at an Italian restaurant). My fiancée had a pasta dish for her main course and found it to be tasteless, smothered in cheese, and the pasta overcooked. Additionally, although Piccolo Arancio has an extensive wine list, if you're not looking to spend more than $100 on a bottle, your options dwindle down to about 5-10 choices. The decor is very 90's. Will not go back."

  • "Piccolo is one of those places where the food & serivce is always great! The bar is a little small but it is, what it is and the bartenders do an excellent job with that they have. Piccolo remains a place I can always recommend."

  • "We've been going to this restaurant since it opened nearly 20 years ago and have never been disappointed. They offer a broad selection of Italian-inspired dishes, and we've always found our entrees to be well executed."

  • "My arrived at Piccolo Arancio and were greeted warmly and seated right away. We both had delicious dinners. I tried a new fish for me, Fluke, and it was was wonderful, tasty, prepared extremely well! My husband had the Veal Meatballs with linguine loved it! I customized an appetizer order, having sauteed spinach with roasted portobello mushrooms that was VERY, VERY YUMMY! I love that Sal will gladly accomodate special "custom" orders for appetizers or entrees. If you don't see something you want, "ask" and it will be done if at all possible and the necessary ingredients are in house! This is a very special and very accommodating restaurant. If you have not yet tried this wonderful restaurant, you owe it to yourself to give it a try!"

  • "We hadn't been to Piccolo Arancio for quite a while and were very pleasantly surprised with our recent evening there. Although it was somewhat pricey, the food was superb and the service was excellent. The only negative was that it was somewhat noisy and bustling, but the quality of the meal more than made up for it. So glad we had a reservation, as the waiting line was quickly building up. This is a place we will definitely return to soon!"

  • "Hands down one of the best restaurants in the Farmington Valley. Food is always outstanding. The escargot appetizer is a dream. I had the seafood risotto special and my husband had the NY strip steak. Both meals were very large, piping hot, and absolutely delicious. The service was absolutely fantastic. I could not decide which wine to get and the server brought me a sample of two of them! We just love this place."

  • "We took our neice to Piccolo Arancio for the first time. She LOVED it! We love it when we introduce people to Piccolo Arancio! This gem in the Farmington Valley is often unknown or over looked by people and I can't figure out why? If you live close to Farmington (or in my view if you live far away!) you owe it to yourself to give this restaurant a try. I think you will love what you find in all categories: food, drink, service, ambience... it has it all!!"

  • "We enjoyed the lobster ravioli and the venison osso buco. Ask for olive oil and grated cheese to make the warm bread taste even better. We appreciated being seated in one of the smaller dining rooms. Our server Tim was not the most polished, but he responded to all our requests."

  • "It was early Saturday Afternoon, we wanted a quiet and relaxing dinner, so we booked with Piccolo Arancio that day and had dinner at 5 PM. It was quiet and we were able to relax and enjoy the peace of a very well run restaurant with a staff that knows how to be attentive but not intrusive. We had wine and dinner and dessert and were home for a relaxing night by 8! If you are looking for a yummy meal in a quiet and relaxed atmosphere with very special service, give Piccolo Arancio a try. Regarding the food: THE RACK OF LAMB that we ordered was out of this world! So, if you like Lamb, we recommend ordering this dish! If you like Fish, the simply grilled Salmon or Tuna is EXCELLENT! And the Desserts are ALL FABULOUS!"

  • "Our appetizers, salads and entrees were wonderful! One of the best meals we have had in this area, ever. However, this was New Year's Eve, and the ambience was sorely lacking- no music that we could hear, and the bar was dead. With such great food, the restaurant needs to make it a fun and lively place to go."

  • "What a blessing it was to have my husband's birthday celebration (just for the two of us!) at Picolo Arrancio. My husband LOVED the Risotto and is still raving about it. The wait staff made us feel so special on this occasion. We recommend it for a birthday celebration or an unbirthday celebration. The food and service quality is exceptional."

  • "We had dinner reservations before a UCONN game. We were there for 7 with plenty of time for a 9 pm game as only 15 minutes away. We both ordered simply pasta. We noticed that everyone in our room had been served and was done and we still did not have our two dinners. Our waitress never came to check on us at all either so we asked another waiter to get her and find out where our food was. 5 minutes or so later she came and brought our good saying sorry for the delay. No explanation , nothing. It was now 8:15 , yes an hour and 15 minutes since we sat and ordered. We had to barely take a few bites of our expensive meals and left. I was extremely disappointed as I had brought a friend there who had never been there before."

Also love how the place has a few different rooms to dine. Make sure to make reservations. We ate at 6 pm on a Friday and by the time we were done, the place was full. Highly recommend!"

It was a very courteous and friendly staff, beautiful Christmas Decorations and delicious food that made the evening just right. If you are after a quiet evening to relax and enjoy each other's company and a wonderful dinner, consider Piccolo Arrancio! The Simply Grilled Items are Simply Delicious!!"

  • "Wow! i was trying to impress my foodie friends from Cali and succeeded. Good bread with high qual EVOO and a good bottle of wine to start. a nice pizza for an appetizer. While it wasn't New - haven worthy, it was sill a nice pie. 1 Cali friend ordered the venison osso bussco and it was fork tender, and very tasty and never gamey. nice sides of great mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. His ultra foodie gf got the gnocci with veal meatballs, what is an italian restaurant without a great house red sauce. the veal meatballs were tremendous. I got the pasta with very large tasty chunks of lobster meat in a lighter red sauce with cream. it was great. fresh cannolli's in fresh stuffed shells for dessert with nice strong coffee."

We all agreed that our experience at this restaurant was the best we had every had. Everything was exceptional. The service was great, the atmosphere was very comfortable and the food was excellent. We will definitely return to Piccolo Arancio."

  • "We love to go to Piccolo Arancio after the afternoon performance at the Goodspeed! So, if like us, you go to Goodspeed and live in the Framington Valley. Travel towards home and have dinner at this fine restaurant. The food is always great, the service is outstanding, and you will be close to home and won't have a long drive after eating. It REALLY is a good combination - both are fabulous!"
