Piccolina ToscanaWe were a table of 5; 2 dineWe were a table of 5; 2 dine w/you frequently. Believe all enjoyed their food selections. Table choose from Restaurant Week menu and regular menu.
I had the Sea Bass and calamari. Calamari prepared perfectly; bass nice and moist. Service top notch. Host picked an Italian chard. Enjoyed and wonder what it was.
Overall a good experience.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat meal- service disappointingFood was outstanding. Atmosphere good. Service may normally be better, table next to us seemed to be drawing special attention resulting in our table being ignored from time to time... Took more the 10 minutes to order drinks, another 10 for them to arrive... Waited some time before we ordered and did not get another round of drinks for some time... Server ignored us to attend who were obviously guests of paner or management at table next to us. Once that table were getting dessert we were able to order dinner and received attentive service after. We were in no hurry so it was not a big deal. Food was incredible .4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat to be back!Had been a while since my last trip, but WOW was it great to be back at Piccolina Toscana! They do it ALL right. Menu had changed just a smidge since my last visit too but the great home made / hand made pastas were still on the menu! The girls got salads on this lunch visit, and they guys went with the pasta and the risotto (which was AMAZING!). Wish I could be there once a week like the old days! Great place, great food, great service.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMTrue Neighborhood Gem!Service was excellent, server was attentive and helpful, meal was delicious, and price was right.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a wonderful restaurant! What a wonderful restaurant! I loved the small plates - my sister and I shared 3. We both had the Caprese salad as a test of how well they would do a standard item - it was the best version of the salad - fresh and delicious and perfectly dressed. The strawberries and raspberries in the dessert were perfectly ripe and went wonderfully with the mascarpone.
Our server was very attentive. We never waited for anything and any questions we had, he could answer or found out the answers very quickly.
I would highly recommend a visit and plan on returning.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat sparkling, white andGreat sparkling, white and red wines by the glass. Great food and great service provided by Brian (very relaxed pace).
We really enjoyed ourselves.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were at Toscana recentlyWe were at Toscana recently for Easter Brunch. I was a little slow in getting reservations, so the earliest table time was 2:00 pm. I was a bit worried that
we would be too late to have a good food selection, but that wasn't the case. The
buffet was awesome, and the entrees were excellent as well. My daughter is a
vegetarian, and there were plenty of options for her to choose from. Thanks,
Toscana!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food. Moderate sizedExcellent food. Moderate sized menu (variety of choices, but not overwhelming). Equally diverse wine and beer menu selections.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMexcellent serviceThe food was great & so was the ambiance but the service was excellent. We had a good server who went above & beyond to help us decide on our meals. The bar scene was quiet & the bartender was pleasant. We had a good time & would surely go back as well as recommend this restaurant to others.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our favorites; alwaysOne of our favorites; always a great meal. However, one of my lunch companions was disappointed in her Caesar salad. It did not have enough large pieces of cheese and when, at her request, large pieces of cheese were brought to her to add to the salad, she claimed they were too hard and dry. My pasta was fine and our other companion ordered a mushroom soup she said was delicious. Our disappointed companion claims the food has deteriorated and does not want to eat again at Piccolina Toscana.1/24/2013 12:00:00 AMPiccolina Toscana has a newPiccolina Toscana has a new menu and with it, higher prices. It has also taken off the menu it's half-portions -- a big (small) favorite of ours. However, when we complained about the lack of half-portions, our wonderful waitress, Mary, told us we could still request them. I ordered gnocchi for the first time -- a favorite artichoke pasta having been removed from the menu. The gnocchi was just okay -- too bland for my taste --and although I ordered and was charged for a half-portion, what I received was huge. I believe I was given a full portion, but just charged for a half-portion. Husband's favorite, capellini with shrimp, was still on the menu. Service this time as excellent. We've had Mary as a waitress before;she is the best.1/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat meal all around. RedGreat meal all around. Red wine served at the proper temperature (~56 degrees).
