  • "Alway great food and new items added to the menu. Very busy night but service was excellent.Make sure that you have a reservation, we like to sit near the windows!"

  • "We were shuttled to an upstairs room with high tops that was more like a bar than a dining area. They had a limited menu and while their excuse was that NASCAR was in town, that's no excuse for such a meager menu. I would not recommend it."

  • "We made a reservation for dinner before a concert at the Verizon Wireless Center. Perfect location for that. Their dining room appeared quaint and they had nice outdoor dining. Unfortunately, I think they overbooked to maximize the number of people on a show night. we were relegated to a dingy bar on the second floor. High tables, dirty and no ambience. Almost looked like a storage room. One waitress for 11 tables and she had to be her own bartender. Service was slow - she did try hard. The food was not so great. The kitchen was overwhelmed by the volume - their words not mine - so maybe they pre-cooked stuff to get it out."

  • "Piccola's was very disappointing. Our reservations were specifically for a side table or booth. The hostess attempted to seat us in the middle of the room. Our wine came in glasses more suited to a Denny's or Blake's. The second glasses came in appropriate stemware. A "steak" was served covered with red sauce and cheese. It was full of gristle which couldn't be seen in order to trim it. My husband said he would like some grated cheese. The server had to go fetch it and immediately dumped a generous amount on MY meal. We did not have time to wait for a new plate to be prepared. Overall service was slow and disorganized. The meals were extremely overpriced. We will not go back."

  • "My wife and I wanted to have a nice meal before going to see a show at the Verizon Wireless Center. We had never been here and wanted to try it. The food was outstanding and the waitstaff couldn't have been more attentive. Will definitely be coming back!"

  • "The only negative, though not the restaurant's fault was, the lady at the table behind us spoke very loud and was someone irritating."

  • "We recently went for dinner on a Friday night with our 2 sons (15 and 22). We hadn't been to the restaurant in a few years, and to be honest, it wasn't what I remembered. The service was slow and inattentive, and the food was un-spectacular. The bread looked and tasted store-bought, and the salads were pretty bland. I had the veal marsala and the veal was tough and overcooked. It's just OK Italian food, nothing to get excited about. If you want better food and service, go to Mangia down the street on Elm, or Tuscan Kitchen in Salem. Even Fratello's would be a better choice for an Italian meal."

  • "Took 15 minutes to get service. The only saving grace is that hostess saw that we were unattended and helped us. The spaghetti was so so but the rest of the party was satisfied."

  • "Piccola has an extensive menu from which to choose a terrific meal; lobster, scallops, clams, etc in wonderful combinations with pastas, chicken, veal and beef in light and flavorful sauces as well as many traditional Italian favorites. The Chicken Lorena I had was absolutely fantastic (breast stuffed with spinach, lobster, sun dried tomatoes and Swiss cheese) with pasta in a light almost Marsala like sauce. The Lobster Risotto with Scallops which my wife had was also excellent. I noticed a recent negative review and reference about the restaurant and their dusty plastic flowers; they do not have any any so I assume the review is/was bogus. Discovered this restaurant 2 years ago on a trip and just returned again, dined there 5 times."

  • "My daughter and I enjoyed our food well enough but it was nothing new or innovative or outstanding. This is the type of restaurant I remember from growing up in the 70's. If you like the kind of Italian food that the successful restaurant in Big Night served (vs. the brothers' authentic Italian restaurant across the street--rent this movie if you love Italian food and great actors) then you will like this. Also, there was a fainting incident within the first 5 minutes we were there, right near our table and while 911 was called, there was a lot of hesitation (the party's companions kept changing their mind as to whether 911 should come or not) and one of the party's companions actually moved the woman which you should never do. Strange!"

  • "It was ok. Waited 10 minutes before a waitstaff came to our table, after I asked. Waitress never offered bread, we had to ask. Food was good including dessert. Would we go back? Probably not!!"

  • "My family loves this place. It is a great Italian restaurant right in the middle of the city. They have homemade pastas and deserts. I've been there with clients as well. Everyone that I have been there with has thoroughly enjoyed their dining experience. We'll keep going back"

  • "Though not busy when we arrived, we waited quite a while for the hostess to appear and seat us. We did appreciate members of the wait staff acknowledging us and telling us she would appear soon. Once seated, it was also a while before our waitress appeared. She stumbled over the "specials" while we were anxious to order because we were very hungry and also attending a show at Verizon. The food was absolutely outstanding, far better than we expected considering the extensive menu. Everything was fresh, expertly prepared, delicious, and beautifully presented. We weren't too comfortable at our tiny table against a wall on uncomfortable chairs. We were quite pleased with the quality of the food for the prices."

  • "I was not overly impressed by the food. My boyfriend also has a nut allergy and the server flat out told him he couldn't have something because the sauce had nuts. When he asked if he could have a different sauce, instead of going to ask the chef what might work as my boyfriend asked she said it wouldnt work. She finally went back to talk to the chef and comes back saying the pasta may have nuts, they don't know because its packaged. So, for a place that advertises made to order food, they were not very flexible with there dishes. When we finally ordered and got our food, it was okay. Not sure I would have the same thing again, but the gnocchi my boyfriend ended up getting was pretty good. Would also not want the server again."

  • "Went there for lunch on a second date and the food was very good and so was the service. I think the prices were a little high but between the good food and service I think it's just right. I would definitely go back. All around very good."

  • "We waited 20 min for our drinks, stuffed mushroom app was stuffed full of breadcrumbs (literally) and served cold. Waited another 15 min for our second round of drinks. The decor was kind of awkward for an Italian restaraunt and with Taylor Swift playing in the back ground it was a little off and unromantic considering you can purchase an Italian music cd at Walmart for $6.99.... Which would have been a better choice on their part. Our dinners were ok nothing to brag about. Pricing was pretty high and didn't even see lasagna as a meal.... Waitresses also make table side Caesar salads (10min or so) so you better ask for your check right after eating. Wine list was just ok. Would we go back? Um no! We would prob choose the Olive Garden first."

  • "Upon arrival we were quickly seated by a friendly hostess. Our waitress was very pleasant and professional. The eggplant appetizer was excellent, and the individual Ceasar salad was better than many, but not outstanding. The Chicken Lorena was prepared as described and had great flavor. It was just a tad overdone as the chicken wasn't as moist as it could have been and the coating was a little crisp, but overall a very good dinner. Desserts all looked great and the lemon cake was excellent. The coffee came out mildly warm as the burner must have been turned off, but the waitress was very apologetic and quickly came back with a fresh, hot cup. Overall, a very nice evening out that was short of outstanding but still very good."
