A word from Piccino
When we opened the doors of our tiny restaurant in December 2006, our goal was to make Piccino as welcoming as the home of a close friend, our food as simple and beautifully executed as possible. We"re honored that Piccino became a thriving hub of the community. And in May of 2011 we moved from our original space into a new home (dubbed The Yellow Building) on the corner of 22nd & Minnesota Streets, which we share with our friends MAC (Modern Appealing Clothing), and DIG wine shop.

Our menu still features the classic and seasonally driven thin-crust pizzas and polpette (Tuscan-style pork and beef meatballs) Piccino is known for; our salads and soups use the finest organic produce sourced directly from small local farms. Piccino's menu has expanded to include more small starter plates, house-made pastas, contorni (vegetable sides), and special entrees of meat, fish, or poultry. Seasonal desserts and expertly made coffee complete our daily offerings.

  • "We loved our dinner here on a busy Sunday evening. The place was packed with locals of all ages including some families with small children. We shared some excellent starters and dessert and a bottle of Italian wine. Our tab was about $80, a great deal for this very lovely evening. We especially loved the goat cheese with home-made zucchini walnut bread with a drizzle of raspberry purée. The cucumber and melon caprese salad was also delicious. The servers and hosts were fun and professional."

  • "We had a terrific experience at Piccino. The atmosphere was bustling, but not too loud. We got a lovely table in the corner by a window and were seated and promptly greeted by our server. The wine list was a nice size for the menu with unique choices. We ordered the bruschetta, the meatballs and a margherita pizza - perfect sized meal for two. Everything was outstanding, especially the meatballs. For dessert we shared a pink squirrel ice cream sandwich on dark chocolate shortbread cookies - also outstanding. We will definitely return to Piccino - exceptional food and excellent service!"

  • "The entree size was minuscule. I had salmon with roasted potatoes, which sounded hearty and filling, but was a very small portion of fish and a few very small quartered little potatoes. For $26. I expect that when I split an antipasti, have a primo and a secondi, that I will feel satisfied. I left hungry and went somewhere else for dessert. The waitress was apologetic, but it wasn't that the food was not well cooked, it was just not enough to make a satisfying experience. I won't go back."

There were two farm egg selections and a fatty milk braised pork for protein. The icing on the cake was that none of the selections were very good . I mean $15.00 for a selection of house baked goods(3) that's $ $ 5.00 a roll please!!"

The staff was super nice and accommodated our request to sit outside. They also accommodated us when we changed our minds and asked to be moved inside (it was too sunny for us that day). The noise level was such that we were able to hear each other really clearly and have a fun group brunch. I highly recommend Piccino! Great for groups, great for fresh and inventive food--love!"
