"Pican is one of those restaurants that will remain high on our list of great dining experiences. Our waitress, Jill, was so enthusiastic and attentive. The food was spectacular, especially the pork belly and shrimp and grits. We had the Prix Fixe dinner and it was just the right amount of food served with impeccable timing and great attention to detail, like new utensils for each course, and waiting for both of us to finish before collecting our plates. The atmosphere was very upscale, and everyone was friendly and had a smile on thier face. The manager came around to each table and checked in to make sure our dining experience was up to par. We will definitely go back again and again."

"Pican tricked us. They actually had a pricy Easter buffet they didn't advertise. We couldn't order off the regular menu. Seemed like every other restaurant had a buffet, which is why I chose Pican; we wanted a sit down brunch & to be waited on rather than a buffet. Their OpenTable advertisement didn't tell about brunch.

They didn't advertise their buffet & slammed us when we got there.
Still like the food & ambiance but don't appreciate being misled."

"The food was delicious and being a Texas-native found the food to be quite similar and true to the South. We were a little disappointed that the brunch was a buffet, but we were there on Easter so maybe that is why. Overall, we were pleased and definitely want to go back for a nice dinner out."

"I frequent Pican's but found that the menu on Easter was not at the level I would have expected for Easter. In fact, the food and selection was less than par, less than what has been offered in the past. The service was exceptional but I daubs myself really disappointed with the food."

"Great bourbon selection. Wonderful service. The food is good but the prices are just too high for what I'm getting. I'll drop money with no thought if reasonable. But I felt like the chicken (which was so highly rated) wasn't worth the $25 at all. The hot apple dessert was served cold. Won't be coming back."

"This is one of my favorite restaurants in Oakland and has excellent Southern style food. This restaurant is great for either a special occasion or just a dinner with a friend. Excellent vibe, elegant and fun."
