A word from Piazza Sorrento
Voted "Best New Restaurant" by Harrisburg Magazine in 2009, Piazza Sorrento is a modern Italian restaurant based on the "Old World" Italian recipes of the owner's family back in Italy. The Bolognese sauce they grew up on and the tradition of family is the cornerstone of the Piazza Sorrento dining experience. Dedicated to providing the finest in service, food, and wine at a fair and competitive price, Piazza Sorrento makes regional and classic Italian cuisine using premium local ingredients while keeping the history of the dish and region intact.

Piazza Sorrento not only provides the best in authentic Italian cooking this side of the Atlantic, but also believes that all patrons, whether adults or children, should be welcomed like one big family - even those with certain dietary requirements. That is why Piazza Sorrento is widely known for their extensive Gluten Free menu, another reason patrons routinely drive over an hour or more to dine in relative ease and safety.

Diner Reviews
  • "Food was delicious, servers were knowledgeable & friendly, especially when it came to dietary restrictions. They have an extensive gluten-free selection that actually tasted good, as well as was interesting (not just taking the croutons off the salad etc)"

  • "The special was crab cakes, which were absolutely delicious! My friend and I were able to chat for almost 2 hours without it being a problem. The food wasn't rushed and we could enjoy conversation between courses."

  • "We were visiting Hershey for the weekend and a relative had told me to try out Piazza Sorrento because of its gluten-free menu. I made an online reservation for 6:15 and then our plans changed so we called to see if we could get in an hour early. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. I expected the gluten-free menu to be like most restaurants - a small sampling of their main dishes, but most made up of meats and veggies. To my surprise, they offered a complete gluten-free menu from appetizers, salads, entrees, to pastas, pizzas, and desserts. It was amazing! We all made different selections and each one was absolutely delicious. It was even nice to have GF bread served at the table with our salads. What a wonderful experience.!"

  • "This is a fabulous neighborhood restaurant. We had the halibut special which was terrific. This restaurant has never disappointed us and we have been coming here for years. All the entrees and pizza and specials are prepared perfectly. Go. Now. It's worth it!"

  • "The food was amazing....the service was amazing! Everything was perfect! Can't wait to go back with friends. As soon as we got home we recommended it to at least 10 people!!!! Love it!"

  • "After reading the online reviews we decided to give Piazza Sorrento a try. We had a great meal! The service was excellent, the food was homemade and delicious...especially the desserts! We are from a town with a ton of great Italian restaurants. Piazza Sorrento ranks right up there with the best. If it were closer to home we would be regulars. We will be sure to go back next time in town."

  • "We thought the food was excellent. We ordered off both the regular and gluten free menus. We really appreciated the care shown to meeting our dietary needs. We couldn't quite figure out if this was supposed to be an adult classy restaurant or a fine dining one. It may be beneficial to have one dining room dedicated to family and one to adults."

  • "Outstanding food. Fettuccine to die for| Service a little spotty but excusible given how busy it was."

  • "This place is a gem for all of us Celiacs! They have a 2 page menu filled with anything you could want. From appetizer to main course and then desserts. All gluten free items came out with a special paper labeled as such. Great tasting food and very good wait staff. Thank you for making it possible for me to dine out with confidence."

  • "Crab cakes were delicious. Enjoyed the Italian sampler. Servings were generous and very filling. The cannoli was very good as well as the crème brulee. Be sure to make a reservation as this local restaurant can get extremely busy, especially if there is a concert or theater show the same evening. Lunch would be a great choice here as well."

  • "This restaurant was recommended to us by a Hershey resident during a visit to Elizabethtown. What a find! Definitely worth the 20 min drive. The food was delicious and our waitress was just lovely. Helpful but not intrusive. Recommend anything with seafood and definitely ask to hear the specials.I had a bacon-wrapped shrimp special as an appetizer, but should have had the entree to eat more of the sauce over pasta. Crab and tortellini had lots of crab, and the halibut special was delicious. Save room for the desserts made in-house - especially the ricotta cake. Very noisy at peak times. We saw many pizza boxes, so next time we will try one. Don't be dismayed by the fact that is next to a Turkey Hill store - this is a great restaurant."

  • "We arrived well before our reservation time and they were still able to accommodate us. The food was excellent and priced right. It was a bit noisy because were put in an "overflow" area and there was a large group with kids on the other side of a sliding partition."

  • "Extensive gf menu..made this a perfect choice for me and my wife..appetizers very generous portions, she loved the garlic shrimp, unfortunately very slow service had to eat salads first and entrees came right after, also even with reservations had to wait, overall great food could improve service"

  • "Excellent full gluten free menu! Wait staff is well trained and all plates are marked GF. Bread, pizza, pasta, and grain free dishes available. Dairy free could be a challenge because this is an Italian restaurant so call ahead and the chef will work with you. No wait and no rushing at Piazza Sorrentos!"

  • "I can't say enough great things about this restaurant. I ordered from the gluten-free menu. It was very clear that they take food allergies seriously. Everything I had was completely delicious (meat lovers gluten-free pizza, salad, and gluten-free tiramisu for dessert). The wine was delicious, and a nice big glass for the money."

  • "Delicious food - entrees, appetizers and bread very good. Salad fine but nothing special. Good desserts but some favorites not available."
    Dined on 1/18/2014
  • "The quality of the entree and the wine selection was excellent. The ambiance and the waiter were bad. We were seated off of the main dining area in a sun-room extension. Lighting was horrible and harsh. Table was severely undersized. The waiter while obviously trying, was not very efficient. Long wait for our wine. Ordered ceaser salads and although requested he forgot to come back with ground pepper or extra grated Parmesan. Would not come back again unless part of a larger party, and would not accept seating in the same area. Need to upgrade the area. When we arrived at our scheduled time, with a delay while there appeared to be a lot of discussion from the hostesses regarding where or how we were going to be seated."

  • "The Butternut Squash Ravioli in Almond Liquor Sauce and Italian Ham is now one of my personal all-time favorite dishes. The salad selection and deserts are amazing as well. I also recommend the Troeg's draft beer. Its a great IPA (or at least taste like an IPA)."

  • "We did the specialty pizzas again and once more they were delicious. Coupled with a cup of chicken, rice, corn soup and a glass of chianti it was the perfect (for us) meal on a cold, snow covered night. Once again we were greatly pleased with the food and the service."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The pasta is outstanding! I had a Lobster Llinguini that was out of this world. My hubby had Eggplant Parmesan that was the best he's ever had. Our friends had Lobster Ravioli and loved it. The price is excellent for this homemade deliciousness! We will return!!"

  • "Very nice atmosphere which is unexpected! Décor was sophisticated and modern and chic!! . Menu was great! Service was excellent! The salads were especially good, as were the brick oven pizzas! The sausage was less hot/true Italian, but the penne pasta was perfect! We would definitely return! Our young man server was very personable and knew the menu well!"

  • "Wow, the butternut squash ravioli with walnuts, almond liquor and ham was amazing! We even had the Caprese Salad (very out of season in December) and it was incredible. I cannot wait to take my family back. Congrats Piazza Sorrento you are my new favorite!"

  • "Third time here... food is fantastic. My first time sitting in the main dining area -- I much prefer the romantic spots on the enclosed patio. Will keep on our dining circuit!"

  • "My family (kids & grandkids) and I, ate at this restaurant last Dec and the service & food was much better last year. Even though we had a reservation we still had to wait for 20 minutes to be seated, which is hard to do in a crowded restaurant with a 20 month old. Two of the dishes ordered were good, however the other 2 were Not good, under cooked eggplant and the other was overloaded with garlic. One of the appetizers showed 6 pieces of bread but we were only brought 4 pieces, we had to to insist the menu indicated 6 pieces, eventually we were brought the additional pieces. Overall everything was ok, but it was much better last year, maybe they were having an off night."

  • "We had made a reservation to allow us 1hr and 45 minutes to eat before going to a concert. We arrived on time and still waited 30 minutes to be seated. After being seated it was 40 minutes before we received our drinks and an additional 15 minutes before we received our salads. After sitting for an hour and still not receiving our entrees, we left so we wouldn't miss the concert. We were repeatedly told by employees that "we are short staffed.""

  • "They have the best gluten free menu my daughter has seen for an Italian restaurant. She loved the great bread (really tasted like the "real deal") and great textured/taste pasta to go along with the always great sauces."
