A word from Piazza Sorrento
Voted "Best New Restaurant" by Harrisburg Magazine in 2009, Piazza Sorrento is a modern Italian restaurant based on the "Old World" Italian recipes of the owner's family back in Italy. The Bolognese sauce they grew up on and the tradition of family is the cornerstone of the Piazza Sorrento dining experience. Dedicated to providing the finest in service, food, and wine at a fair and competitive price, Piazza Sorrento makes regional and classic Italian cuisine using premium local ingredients while keeping the history of the dish and region intact.

Piazza Sorrento not only provides the best in authentic Italian cooking this side of the Atlantic, but also believes that all patrons, whether adults or children, should be welcomed like one big family - even those with certain dietary requirements. That is why Piazza Sorrento is widely known for their extensive Gluten Free menu, another reason patrons routinely drive over an hour or more to dine in relative ease and safety.

  • Disappointed...AGAIN!

This is probably the last time I will be back. I have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, etc. with family from Hershey, Philly and beyond and up to these last few months, I LOVED it here. The past 3 times, however - not good. This time, - Grilled Gnocchi was swimming in sauce and so salty I couldn't eat it, the crab cakes are good but STILL need a light remoulade sauce due to dryness which I always 'suggest' to the wait staff to 'suggest' to the chef, the lobster ravioli - same salty sauce and "ground" lobster for $28! WHY? Shrimp and pasta - the shrimp were very overcooked and had a funny taste. The server was newer but fine. So sorry for this review, but this favorite has lost favor.

We had dinner at Piazza Sorrento - I am glad I made reservations for the evening I was in Hershey PA - I read other reviews prior to making my reservations and I was not disappointed. We were seated within minutes of my reservation, was not rushed by the waiter so the table could be turned. The food was very good. Overall very enjoyable. Thanks

I have to say I was really happy with this choice. My wife has been here a few times and wanted this to be our 26th anniversary dinning restaurant. I was here once for lunch when my son graduated college. We were there for lunch and it was under 300 with 12 people. The lunch was good from what I remember. This time for dinner was incredible, I hate to blow things up but it was. From our server Sharon who was busy but stopped by enough that we were never in need, to the time intervals everything came out. The food was perfect and the desert was the best. The noise wasn't bad I couldn't adjust the selection I made in the first section of this review.

The food was very good. You could smell the marinara as you walked in the door. I chose this restaurant because I had a gift certificate and it was highly recommended because of their gluten free choices. The GF bread and pasta are excellent! Our server and those we heard around us had knowledge of the menu and ingredients and shared it with enthusiasm. Their have a variety of pastas as well as seafood, steaks, and chicken dishes. I had a salad with spinach, apples, grapes, gorgonzola and walnuts with a cider dressing. Wonderful! I was too full for dessert but will return just to sample those choices. Menu is a little pricey. Salad was $11

Piazza Sorrento has some of the best Italian food around. I have been going there regularly since I moved to Hershy. The service is always friendly and prompt. I would recommend checking out Piazza Sorrento. Only downside to the experience is the noise level. It is very loud if you are there on a Friday or Saturday night. Sometimes it can be a challenge to hear the person across from you.

We have dined here many times in the past. This is one of our favorite restaurants to visit in the area. The food and service are consistently fantastic. The restaurant is on the small side and the noise level can become kind of loud, but if you're looking for a great Italian restaurant, you absolutely cannot go wrong eating here. Parking is available both in front of the restaurant as well as in back. Reservations are highly recommended. They have a notable wine list and a quite extensive gluten-free menu. Almost everything that you order here is authentic homemade Italian.

I can not say enough good things about this restaurant. The food, atmosphere and most of all Robin our server were absolutely fantastic. We had a large party and Robin was excellent. She remembered all the small details which I must say most restaurants I have frequented lately do not really pay attention. Special requests were handled, our food was incredible and hot. This was our first experience but will definately not be our last.

I have been searching for years for a Gluten Free experience like this! Every aspect of the evening was a Celiac strugglers dream come true. I was in town for the half marathon and was on the hunt for a good pasta dinner. Good and gluten free pasta don't usually go hand in hand but Piazza Sorrento changed that! The food was incredible! The staff was very knowledgeable and took the allergy very seriously! It was an incredible meal from start to finish! I highly recommend the Penne Bolognese!

My daughter and I enjoy meeting at Piazza Sorrento's for lunch or dinner whenever we are in Hershey. The homemade pasta dishes are delicious and there is always a new one to try, although the lasagna and other stand-bys are hard to resist! We've finally gotten it down to a system where one orders the salad and one the soup so we can share (both are too good to pass up!), we box half our meals for the next day, and then we drool over the delectable dessert selections. We have never made a bad choice! The staff is always very attentive and friendly, accommodating every request with a smile. Piazza Sorrento's is a lovely place to step away, relax, and enjoy an excellent meal experience!

Piazza Sorrento is that perfect little restaurant. We were greeted with a smile as we entered. Alyssa was our server and she did an excellent job of explaining the specials. The chicken soup was excellent and at just the right temperature. My husband ordered the chicken Parmesan and I had the Gnocchi with marinara. Both were good choices. Dessert was cannoli. Dinner was great, Alyssa was wonderful and we had an enjoyable dining experience.

I was really disappointed with our experience at Piazza Sorrento. We waited an hour for our food. The waiter apoligized and said there was a really big party with a lot of custom orders. We had 7 people in our group, with no special orders. I don't blame our waiter, however I think they should have offered something for our wait. That would have made a big difference in my opinion of the experience. When we did finally get our food, my shrimp pasta was over cooked and mushy. Not planning a return trip.

We just came back from 2 weeks in Italy and craved more delicious food. Piazza Sorrento again hit the mark. Where else in the area can you get real Italian cocktails? We loved the brushetta as we sipped our negronis. Two of us had the pasta with bolognese sauce and 2 had the puttanesca. Everyone cleaned their plates. We were going to be in Hershey for just one evening and wanted a decent restaurant near our hotel. The reviews on TripAdvisor led us to Piazza Sorrento. Had family up from South Philly and couldn't wait to share this restaurant with them-homemade pasta, great cocktails service. Drinks and salad were great.Grilled Gnocchi was delicious.Seafood dishes didn't offer the scallops they so had to settle for shrimp.Salmon/Risotto dish was fair.Salmon dry and spinach risotto not much flavor.Homemade lasagna is usually delicious, but the sauce tasted like it hadn't been cooked very long.Had to ask for bread and the service was slow, but we took into consideration they were training new wait staff, so it was acceptable.Noise level was loud, never noticed that in all our previous trips. We are definitely coming back again, but will try a different night next time.

Returned once again to Sorrento's. Was as awesome as ever. Having been in Italy recently, you would think we were in a restaurant in Rome or Florence....always fresh and outstanding flavor. Many great choices, and great specials. Owner checked in to our table..she was very nice and cordial. Will always return when in Hershey, and recommend to anyone visiting as a must do!! For specifics, deep fried cheese ravioli in white sauce was a rush and super start. Caprese salad fresh and outstanding with balsamic glaze. Had lasagna and meat ball, was wonderful. My wife had linguini and shrimp in garlic butter, and mom had penne and sweet sausage. Both incredible. Small portions were great, but a lot of food. No room for dessert!!

When planning this trip for our anniversary, I chose this restaurant because their house specialty is their Pappardelle Bolognese (my wife's favorite). However, she was reluctant to order this and ordered the Linguini Puttanesca instead (she is Italian and was afraid that it wouldn't be up to her standards). As it turned out, I didn't mind because she was ecstatic about the Puttanesca. I chose Lasagna, mostly because I was really hungry, but it was also accompanied by the bolognese, which was great. We started with the Bruschetta which was excellent. I had a caesar salad, which was good, while my wife had a caprese salad, which would have been better with local tomatoes. Overall, I was a hero and would definitely return when in Hershey

We were completing a vacation at Hershey Park and had dinner here with our kids prior to heading back home. We were pleasantly surprised by the excellent food!
