A word from Piazza Sorrento
Voted "Best New Restaurant" by Harrisburg Magazine in 2009, Piazza Sorrento is a modern Italian restaurant based on the "Old World" Italian recipes of the owner's family back in Italy. The Bolognese sauce they grew up on and the tradition of family is the cornerstone of the Piazza Sorrento dining experience. Dedicated to providing the finest in service, food, and wine at a fair and competitive price, Piazza Sorrento makes regional and classic Italian cuisine using premium local ingredients while keeping the history of the dish and region intact.

Piazza Sorrento not only provides the best in authentic Italian cooking this side of the Atlantic, but also believes that all patrons, whether adults or children, should be welcomed like one big family - even those with certain dietary requirements. That is why Piazza Sorrento is widely known for their extensive Gluten Free menu, another reason patrons routinely drive over an hour or more to dine in relative ease and safety.

Piazza Sorrento is that perfect little restaurant. We were greeted with a smile as we entered. Alyssa was our server and she did an excellent job of explaining the specials. The chicken soup was excellent and at just the right temperature. My husband ordered the chicken Parmesan and I had the Gnocchi with marinara. Both were good choices. Dessert was cannoli. Dinner was great, Alyssa was wonderful and we had an enjoyable dining experience.

I love the gluten free dishes here! I am not gluten free, but my wife is. I've tasted a lot of gluten free substitutes at restaurants, and Piazza Sorrento knows how to do it right! My wife and I live about 2 hours away, and we come out this way periodically - because it's just that good!

Allyssa, our server, was a wonderful addition to a very good meal. the daily specail seabass wrapped in bacon was so moist and flavorful. The beer selection was not large, but had an old favorite porter. Teh wine selection is good and as expected, heavy on the Italians. all in all a very good late dinner experience.

I was really disappointed with our experience at Piazza Sorrento. We waited an hour for our food. The waiter apoligized and said there was a really big party with a lot of custom orders. We had 7 people in our group, with no special orders. I don't blame our waiter, however I think they should have offered something for our wait. That would have made a big difference in my opinion of the experience. When we did finally get our food, my shrimp pasta was over cooked and mushy. Not planning a return trip.

I had just arrived at the end of a 3 day car trip and what I wanted was a glass of good wine and some comfort food. It was even better that the lasagna was really wonderful. By extension the other menu offerings looked right. I will need to find the opportunity to get back and more fully explore the menu offerings. Overall a superior dining experience.

We just came back from 2 weeks in Italy and craved more delicious food. Piazza Sorrento again hit the mark. Where else in the area can you get real Italian cocktails? We loved the brushetta as we sipped our negronis. Two of us had the pasta with bolognese sauce and 2 had the puttanesca. Everyone cleaned their plates. Make sure to tell your server if you want a leisurely meal..

Four of us went to dinner. Had a reservation and were seated immediately. Ordered two appetizers, bruschetta and grilled shrimp. Both were very good. The shrimp was cooked just right. The bread under the shrimp was somewhat soggy. All of our entrees were very good. The salmon on spinach risotto is especially good. Service was excellent.

We were going to be in Hershey for just one evening and wanted a decent restaurant near our hotel. The reviews on TripAdvisor led us to Piazza Sorrento. We had lasagna and butternut squash ravioli. The lasagna was good and the ravioli (one of the evening's specials) was delicious! There is a nice selection of wines. We enjoyed our visit and would eat there again if in the area.

Had family up from South Philly and couldn't wait to share this restaurant with them-homemade pasta, great cocktails service. Drinks and salad were great.Grilled Gnocchi was delicious.Seafood dishes didn't offer the scallops they so had to settle for shrimp.Salmon/Risotto dish was fair.Salmon dry and spinach risotto not much flavor.Homemade lasagna is usually delicious, but the sauce tasted like it hadn't been cooked very long.Had to ask for bread and the service was slow, but we took into consideration they were training new wait staff, so it was acceptable.Noise level was loud, never noticed that in all our previous trips. We are definitely coming back again, but will try a different night next time.

Returned once again to Sorrento's. Was as awesome as ever. Having been in Italy recently, you would think we were in a restaurant in Rome or Florence....always fresh and outstanding flavor. Many great choices, and great specials. Owner checked in to our table..she was very nice and cordial. Will always return when in Hershey, and recommend to anyone visiting as a must do!! For specifics, deep fried cheese ravioli in white sauce was a rush and super start. Caprese salad fresh and outstanding with balsamic glaze. Had lasagna and meat ball, was wonderful. My wife had linguini and shrimp in garlic butter, and mom had penne and sweet sausage. Both incredible. Small portions were great, but a lot of food. No room for dessert!!

When planning this trip for our anniversary, I chose this restaurant because their house specialty is their Pappardelle Bolognese (my wife's favorite). However, she was reluctant to order this and ordered the Linguini Puttanesca instead (she is Italian and was afraid that it wouldn't be up to her standards). As it turned out, I didn't mind because she was ecstatic about the Puttanesca. I chose Lasagna, mostly because I was really hungry, but it was also accompanied by the bolognese, which was great. We started with the Bruschetta which was excellent. I had a caesar salad, which was good, while my wife had a caprese salad, which would have been better with local tomatoes. Overall, I was a hero and would definitely return when in Hershey

We were completing a vacation at Hershey Park and had dinner here with our kids prior to heading back home. We were pleasantly surprised by the excellent food! The pappardelle bolognese was outstanding and comparable to the best we have had locally (for us Philadelphia). The pizza had crisp crust and was delicious. The service was prompt and friendly. The prices were very reasonable. We will recommend to anyone we know visiting the area!

We had Lobster Ravioli and the Italian Sampler. The Ravioli was fantastic. The Sampler was Lasagna, Fettuccine, and Chicken Parm. Very generous portions. Fettuccine and Chicken were outstanding. Not enough room to finish the Lasagna. Bread was great, careful on filling up on it, taste a bit then set it aside if you have the self control (you won't). Worth the trip.

We made reservations for 6:15 PM. We showed up at 6:05 PM. There were empty tables, and I knew that perhaps they might have been reserved by others. The hostess, who was a young lady (approx. 20-22 or so) said exactly this: "Well, if you have an Open Table reservation, then you're going to have to wait until your reservation time." REALLY? When you have available tables? So, I said, "Well then, perhaps I'll cancel my reservation on my phone and then you can seat me." She stated that she had to "check" on it. We sat in the waiting area. Someone else came in, who she clearly knew, and she greeted him kindly and chatted for a while. She looked at her computer after that, talked again with someone, and then seated us. Food was average. No more.

On Monday, August 5th. My family had a reservation for 5:30 p.m. We were a party of 5 and seated promptly. In about 10 to 15 minutes, our server greeted us took our drink order. Then returned with them and took our dinner order. One member of our party ordered penne with chicken. We our dinner arrive, about 10 minutes another server, came to our table and asked if the penne with chicken, if there was chicken, which there was not. Once we were done with dinner, our server asked if we were interested in desert, we said yes. She said should would be back with the desert offerings. In about 30 to 45 minutes later, she returned, by that time I was no longer interested, but one member of our dining party did get desert.

The food at Piazza Sorrento was excellent. Their chicken parm. was awesome, and I love their red sauce. So good! The bread is homemade and so delicious that you almost eat too much of it, and don't leave enough room for your meal. The lasagna is also really good. I had lobster ravioli, while it was good the sauce was just a little too sweet for me. Don't get me wrong I ate it all. We have been here many times, and will definitely go back.

Talk about authentic Italian cuisine, virtually everything on the menu (including the desserts) is homemade, the quality and portions of the food are excellent and the prices are reasonable. If you leave this restaurant hungry, shame on you! Reservations are most definitely recommended, it gets very busy depending upon what day and time that you go. They also have one of the best gluten free menus in the entire area. They have an extensive selection of beer and wine to enjoy along with your meal if you so desire. You absolutely cannot go wrong dining here, no matter what the occasion.

We started off with the crab dip appetizer, which was delicious-big chunks of crab. Tried a summer ale on tap as suggested by our server-the salad with the house dressing was inhaled with their warm rolls. I tried the small lasagna and was pleasantly full- the sauce was chunky with meat and tomatoes and spices. My husband had the Crème brulee for dessert, and it was creamy and sugary, and I enjoyed the blueberry garnish on top.

Would not have known it was gf if you didn't tell me! Lots of flavor. I had clams and pasta in white wine sauce, and wife had lasagna. Both excellent. For dessert we had the gf tiramisu and homemade panna cotta. Delicious! Can't wait to go back!
