Had to wait 5-10 min for a chilled glass of Lambrusco, also I had to wait 25-30 for my dinner which was cold, my husbands was pipping hot. Then an extra order of pasta was thrown on the bil, which we had to point out to the waiter. We will not be returning . This is by hands down the worst Italian resturant i have been to! We dine out a lot, and this is the worst place! Plus its over priced. And no childrens menu! $10.00 for a small spagetti for a child, what a joke!

A gem in the heart of Roscoe Village neighborhood that we've been enjoying for years. Perfect outdoor and open air concept in the summer and fall. The food is amazing; the Lasagne or Potato Gnocchi with the Ceaser remain our go-to... but they've always come up with new tastes along the way. We moved a bit north, but try to make our way down when we're in the mood for good eats, good people and good times. P.S. Ask for Lupe if you stop by - his service and smile are second to none!!!

Stopped by for late lunch on a Saturday afternoon and had a very enjoyable meal with wine. The baked goat cheese is excellent, and although we didn't order bruschetta, the manager was kind enough to bring over a free sample of a new recipe they're trying - a green pesto bruschetta with an Italian cheese I've never tried before. That was the touch that made us feel special and will make us return. The two pasta dishes were tasty and well presented, and a little different to the run of the mill. The only downside was I didn't see meatballs on the menu, but maybe that was no bad thing - we couldn't manage dessert and brought home leftovers!

The food was above average. Apps were all excellent, main entrees were pretty good. The indoor setting was a good balance of cozy and chic. Wine list was excellent with a variety of fine wines. Our server was very scattered, only paid attention to us when we flagged him down. The place could definitely up its quality in service.

We dined here a year ago (April 2013) while visiting Chicago and had a delicious and memorable meal and looked forward to our next visit. The multi-page menu had many delicious choices! When I booked the reservation ( (April 2014) on Open Table, I didn't think to look at the menu in advance. I won't make that mistake again! We were seated promptly and presented a 1 page menu and then told there were no "specials" as they had just switched to the new menu. The server was knowledgable and friendly but glossed over our disappointment at the limited menu. Gone was the wonderful selection of veal dishes or classic Italian options. The Squid Ink pasta was delicious but the Short Rib Ravioli was a small portion w/no sides. Pizza was ok.

Piazza Bella was once upon a time my favorite restaurant. I was surprised to walk in for our reservation to see the restaurant relatively quiet. They sat my guest and I at a cramped table near the front but there were many other open tables. When we asked to move - 20 minutes after walking in, having been ignored and not provided any water in that time - they said we couldn't because we had reservations. Really? Looking around I was reluctant to believe it. They finally agreed to move us, but it was clear from the very beginning they weren't interested in providing good service. We only had one cocktail - they never gave us the opportunity to order another. The menu is smaller and the food is WAY overpriced for what we received.

Valentine's Day... the day alot of girls look forward to or regret. In this case, the girl and I both regret it.. even though we both had a date (each other) First off, the staff threw us in the 'other section' of Piazza Bella which is the 'bar' section, right by the door which kept opening and made things super cold. I requested a new spot and still the cold air was constantly coming in on us. I don't have many characters to write, so I will make this short... it was the worst Valentine's Day experience I've had. We both waited 2 HOURS for our main course as somehow the computers were down. (they just forgot to put our order in) The food was just slopped together and overly salty. Waited on water refills and just overall had a bad time.

I wouldn't have known about Piazza Bella had it not been for Open Table. So glad I found it! Service is impeccable. Ambiance is romantic and relaxing. I had ravioli and my date had lasagna, both of which looked a bit soupy but tasted great. They have a full bar, though the wine list is extensive. Will absolutely come back!

The evening began well. The service was good, the food, although overpriced, was tasty. But then when we informed the waiter that we would not be having dessert only coffee, the host asked us to leave the table because others were waiting. I would understand if we had been sitting there over 2 hours but it had only been 1 hour and 15 minutes. We were very angry. The host offered us a different smaller table in the crowded bar. We explained that this would not work for 6 people and 2 being in their 70's. I have been to many different restaurants at all price levels all over the world and I can honestly say that I have never been asked to vacate a table. None of us will be returning.

One of my favorites in the neighborhood. Reliably good food and attentive service. I typically get the fish special, which is always fresh and nicely prepared. This time I tried the veal with a lemon sauce and capers--it was delicious. The scene includes everything from families to singles at the bar and groups of friends. Nice wine list and good bread basket. The servers are always there when you need them and remember the regulars. I will be back!

We went to this restaurant as it was recommended by a friend. The food was good. My husband enjoyed his Chicken Marsala. I got the filet, which was a little overcooked (I ordered medium rare- it was more medium). It was very tasty though, as was the asparagus, and risotto cake that came with it. Sadly, we had no room left for dessert :)

This was my second time dining here and it was very good both times. The food was fresh and the menu is pretty extensive so everyone in your group will be able to find someting that interests them. We were looking forward to trying the goat cheese appetizer for the first time but were a little disappointed to find out that they had run out (it's very popular here I've heard). I will be back again to see if I can try it sometime. We went at peak time on a Saturday so it was very noisy but part of that was because we had a table in the bar side of the restaurant. The setting is pretty nice and romantic but it was a bit cramped (again, we did go during peak time on a Saturday night so it was a bit expected). I will definately be back again.

I love Piazza Bella (and it's not my first time going there). Every dish was fresh and wonderful. I love their olive oil and breads, and the wine was great too. i highly recommend the gnochetti, but everyone was happy with their choices. With a huge menu, it's a great spot for even the pickiest of eaters. It's solid, dependable, and always a good experience, and while it may not be as extraordinary as say, Boka or Sable, Italian food done right is always a wonderful thing.

Our waitress totally made up for the sub-par service we received when we arrived and were left to clog the doorway while we were forgotten about. Made a 7pm reservation on a Sunday. We had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. People coming in after us, without reservations were seated before we were. Once seated, a server did not arrive for another 10 minutes. Our meals took over 1.5 hours. At this point the restaurant want not extremely crowded. It wasn't until our dinners arrived that the server apologized for the delay. It seemed like we were the only ones experiencing this issue. We were lapped by guests coming in after us and leaving before. By the time we got the bill, we were the last ones in the restaurant. To the restaurants credit, the food was exceptional. The restaurant took off a good portion of the bill. Sadly, I will not be coming back due to the poor customer service.

I wanted to love it. It's one of my neighborhood pizza/Italian restaurants. I just couldn't get on board w/ the pizza. I make better homemade pizza, I have to say. It was just underwhelming and meh okay. A little greasy for my liking as well. The crust was soggy in the middle - cheese had no flavor and I even ordered additional fresh mozzarella. I also tried the desert - the cannoli. I was surprised to see that it came on a plate covered in what seemed to be melted vanilla and chocolate gelato on top to make it look pretty. I had to order a plain cannoli to taste the flavor. The plain cannoli was outstanding actually - so 5 stars for that! Service was okay for 5:30PM on Sat., as it should be w/ only a few tables seated.

I made my reservation a week ahead and requested for a table outside, the restaurant confirmed 3 times my reservation but never told us that tables outside were "first come first serve". For the moment we got there the waiting for a table outside was 1 hour. The place inside was noisy, the waiter took for ever to come to us, it was so slow that we were there for almost 3 hours. Food was just OK. Not worth the money.

My wife and I had two different experiences with the food. My salad and veal dish were very nice. My wife's salad was bland, and her lasagna was boring. The manager inquired on our dinner and we were honest with him. He promptly removed the lasagna dish from the check and brought two glasses of Limoncello to the table. This type of professionalism will bring us back for another chance. We will also bring a real lasagna recipe for the chef.
