Diner Reviews
  • "This place is nice enough and in the heart of roscoe village but the food is not very good. There are way better options for both pizza and pasta close by. "

  • "Solid menu. Nothing very adventurous but the food is well-prepared and nicely presented."

  • "I just recently came here just for apps and cocktails. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the goat cheese appetizer and a pizza. Both dishes were served quickly and tasted delicious."

  • "Great choice if in Roscoe Village. The pasta is all homemade. Very nice ambiance and the service was flawless."

  • "I wouldn't have known about Piazza Bella had it not been for Open Table. So glad I found it! Service is impeccable. Ambiance is romantic and relaxing. I had ravioli and my date had lasagna, both of which looked a bit soupy but tasted great. They have a full bar, though the wine list is extensive. Will absolutely come back!"

  • "Valentine's Day... the day alot of girls look forward to or regret. In this case, the girl and I both regret it.. even though we both had a date (each other) First off, the staff threw us in the 'other section' of Piazza Bella which is the 'bar' section, right by the door which kept opening and made things super cold. I requested a new spot and still the cold air was constantly coming in on us. I don't have many characters to write, so I will make this short... it was the worst Valentine's Day experience I've had. We both waited 2 HOURS for our main course as somehow the computers were down. (they just forgot to put our order in) The food was just slopped together and overly salty. Waited on water refills and just overall had a bad time."

  • "The evening began well. The service was good, the food, although overpriced, was tasty. But then when we informed the waiter that we would not be having dessert only coffee, the host asked us to leave the table because others were waiting. I would understand if we had been sitting there over 2 hours but it had only been 1 hour and 15 minutes. We were very angry. The host offered us a different smaller table in the crowded bar. We explained that this would not work for 6 people and 2 being in their 70's. I have been to many different restaurants at all price levels all over the world and I can honestly say that I have never been asked to vacate a table. None of us will be returning."

  • "We discovered Piazza Bella when we lived in Roscoe Village. Since moving to the suburbs, we still return several times per year. The food is delicious and the service is great."

  • "I have always had wonderful service when going to Piazza."

  • "One of my favorites in the neighborhood. Reliably good food and attentive service. I typically get the fish special, which is always fresh and nicely prepared. This time I tried the veal with a lemon sauce and capers--it was delicious. The scene includes everything from families to singles at the bar and groups of friends. Nice wine list and good bread basket. The servers are always there when you need them and remember the regulars. I will be back!"

  • "The new chef is not ready for prime time! Both the appetizer and entre were badly over cooked. Wait for him to get his act together!"

  • "We went to this restaurant as it was recommended by a friend. The food was good. My husband enjoyed his Chicken Marsala. I got the filet, which was a little overcooked (I ordered medium rare- it was more medium). It was very tasty though, as was the asparagus, and risotto cake that came with it. Sadly, we had no room left for dessert :)"

  • "I love Piazza Bella (and it's not my first time going there). Every dish was fresh and wonderful. I love their olive oil and breads, and the wine was great too. i highly recommend the gnochetti, but everyone was happy with their choices. With a huge menu, it's a great spot for even the pickiest of eaters. It's solid, dependable, and always a good experience, and while it may not be as extraordinary as say, Boka or Sable, Italian food done right is always a wonderful thing."

  • "This was my second time dining here and it was very good both times. The food was fresh and the menu is pretty extensive so everyone in your group will be able to find someting that interests them. We were looking forward to trying the goat cheese appetizer for the first time but were a little disappointed to find out that they had run out (it's very popular here I've heard). I will be back again to see if I can try it sometime. We went at peak time on a Saturday so it was very noisy but part of that was because we had a table in the bar side of the restaurant. The setting is pretty nice and romantic but it was a bit cramped (again, we did go during peak time on a Saturday night so it was a bit expected). I will definately be back again."

  • "I made my reservation a week ahead and requested for a table outside, the restaurant confirmed 3 times my reservation but never told us that tables outside were "first come first serve". For the moment we got there the waiting for a table outside was 1 hour. The place inside was noisy, the waiter took for ever to come to us, it was so slow that we were there for almost 3 hours. Food was just OK. Not worth the money."

  • "The food was okay but not as good as other Italian restaurants. The least appetizing was the lasagna...if you are expecting traditional lasagna, do not order as it was very lemony and had no red sauce."
