"I booked a reservation on a Thursday for a business luncheon with people I was meeting for the first time. They were from Arizona, staying on The Magnificent Mile and wanted to have lunch in a Chicago neighborhood. The loved Piazza Bella and Roscoe Village. In particular, the grilled calamari and sauce was a big hit and while I have been to PB a few times before, it was the first time I tasted the calamari and if I had been with friends instead of business associates, I would have been a real piggie and hogged the calamari! Everyone commented on the great food and ambiance of the restaurant. Portion size was generous."

"The baked goat cheese in tomato sauce is great for sharing. The portions are a good size so we actually split the main course too and they brought it already divided for us. We still took food home as we left room for the dessert special which was a lovely strudel."

"WE went for a Sunday brunch and the service was poor. Nobody explained how the brunch works. If I had not called in advance to inquire about what is offered at the brunch we would not have even known it was possible to get made to order pasta or the omelets. We were told on the phone that there was an omelet station and when I asked where it was, the waiter gave us strips of paper to order the omelets. They never told us about the option of having pasta either. We had to ask about it. The place was pretty much empty however the servers seemed more interested in their own conversation. They did not get us drink refills unless we asked. Although the pasta and omelets were good, the service overall was so poor I would not go back."

"Piazza Bella makes some of the best Italian food in the city, so I was thrilled when my husband told me he had used Open Table to get us a reservation on Saturday night. We left the kids with a sitter and arrived promptly at 8 p.m. While we were waiting to be seated another couple arrived after us and were shown to a nice, warm table. Despite our objections we were given a drafty table by the door. I assume the food is still great, but we never got to taste it since once seated, no one ever acknowledged our presence. The waiter couldn't be bothered to even drop a bread basket off or take our order. We finally left to try our luck at another Roscoe Village restaurant."

"I had the fish special - very good. Everyone at our table liked their entres and brushetta as a starter was excellent. Restaurant was very busy and unfortunately service was slow in between starter course and main entrees. Otherwise a fun evening."
