  • "We've been 3-4 times since it's opening..... great food and excellent service!"

  • "We went to this restaurant because we wanted to try out their restaurant week menu. The fried asparagus with crab meat on top is amazing and I will go back just for that! Everything we ate was delicious, service good, not too noisy. Will absolutely be back soon!"

  • "Piatto Ristorante Heights is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. The food is always excellent and the service was excellent. The manager greeted us like we were family which is greatly appreciated. Was great to learn that Piatto Ristorante is participating in Houston Restaurant Weeks! Yeah!"

  • "We were here on a business lunch - we started with the Asparagus Crab! Very nice. Some us had the Salmon with Crawfish, Lasagna and the Smootherd Chicken Breast. Then we finished up with 3 Deserts --- they were all good but the Cheesecake was World Class and them best we had ever had --- no fancy toppings just the best Cheesecake!"

  • "The first time we ate here the food was fabulous. Tenderloin medallions with possibly the best Marsala sauce I've had, creamy and flavorful potatoes and cooked-just-right spinach. Companion had stuffed shrimp- shrimp good but stuffing bland. 2nd time with friends, pasta dishes (mezzaluna with chicken & spinach, linguine primavera) pronounced very good, but chicken piatto overlooked, dry and tough, tho flavor and serving of goat cheese nice taste, and veal Marsala the same- over cooked and tough. Heirloom tomato with crabmeat very disappointing- tomatoes green and hard, crabmeat tasteless. Service is always good but I guess it depends on who is in the kitchen as to quality of food."

  • "Piatto just moved to the Heights, and I've already been there FIVE TIMES! Yes, it's THAT good! It's just SO DELICIOUS, and there's a great variety - so you can DEFINITELY find plenty to love! The owner and the entire staff are all wonderful - so warm, friendly, attentive, and professional! I can't wait to go back - again and again!"

  • "I loved the original Galleria location and was impressed with the new location. We enjoyed the nice wines and the calamari appetizer. Nice welcome from the proprietor and the manager. Always been a fan of Piattos. Welcome to the neighborhood."

  • "Met my family here for dinner, after checking that they had gluten free options. The restaurant has not been open very long, and is in a new building. Service was ok, manager was very attentive. I think Piatto's will improve with some time (like a fine wine) - but there are better options for Italian in the area at the moment."

  • "Johnny is so pleasant and is very accommodating. The asparagus and calamari appetizer was delicious, the Italian bread delicious, the clams and marinara linguine delicious, and the 3 desserts we tried were all heavenly. A great new place to go and eat!"

  • "Good service, great food, nice venue. The ambient noise was high, but they have taken steps to keep the noise level down, so we could actually hear the waiter and each other. Owner check on us several times."

  • "Had an excellent family b 'day dinner at Piatto's last night. The calamari and fried asparagus were great, and my rainbow trout and fresh brussels sprouts were perfect. Jennifer, the manager, worked with us to make the evening special. The valet was very attentive and even went and got my parent's car for them and they didn't valet park! And Jennifer, the manager, told my mom that they have roof access and another kitchen up above the lofts? Something else to explore! "

  • "Terrific food, excellent waitstaff, this place has it all. Our meal was every bit as good as we've had many times at the galleria area location. A nice bonus was having the owner ce by our table twice to make sure we we taken care of. "

  • "Piatto-Heights is not a quiet restaurant at all. It has a high energy and a significant noise level when the place fills up. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but just be prepared for the frenetic ambiance if you go. Piatto does have some really good dishes, albeit they are somewhat pricey. The service was very good as well, though we were seated at a table the was apparently the main thoroughfare path for the servers and bus staff as there was a constant stream of staff brushing past both sides of our table going to/from the kitchen. Unfortunately, it was a detraction and and an annoyance to an otherwise nice experience. I will be back to Piatto Heights, but I will not sit at that same table though. "

  • "After our first visit, Piatto's was certainly placed on our "A-list" of places to return. Service was very good, food was very good, and we were able to walk to dine. That was a big plus. We will be back. "

  • "Location was hard to find, need bigger sign, but once there everything went well, wait staff attentive, food very taste, price was right, and we got to meet the owner John and his wife. It was a Mother's Day Brunch menu of items I hope they add to the regular menu, can not wait to return there."

  • "This place was pretty awful- might as well have been the Olive Garden circa 1990, only without the quality control. One person in our party had a large knucklebone in her pasta. The management chose to delete the cost of the item from the bill, which was very nice, but I certainly won't be back. The food was bland, fatty. and unbalanced. I really wanted to like the place because I'm a neighborhood resident, but it's sort of emblematic of everything that has gone wrong with the Heights in recent years. If you've recently bought a new, obnoxiously-sized home here though (especially if you knocked a perfectly good one down to build yours) and you drive an SUV, you needn't drive back to the Woodlands for dinner any more-- Piatto is for you!"

  • "We live across the street and were excited when this restaurant opened. We went in expecting Carrabba's quality food since the restaurant is owned by a member of the family and also has a very similar menu. Our overall assessment was that the food was priced the same but of lower quality. The shrimp and tomatoes had clearly been frozen...just not the Carrabbas quality we have become used to over the years. It seemed as though dishes should have been cheaper, or the food should have been better, but the current combo isn't a good one."

  • "Nice new addition to the neighborhood. Food was very good. We were there on a Friday, and it was very busy. Owners were there circulating through the restaurant visiting with all the guests, which was nice. We don't eat italian food very often, but we will definitely return to Piatto. "

  • "We are big fans of the Carrabbas, so were looking forward to their consistently delicious food, and our expectations were met. It was surprisingly slow for a Friday night at 7 pm (new restaurant?), so we were surprised when they ushered us way to the back. But it was refreshing to be able to hear each other talk for once. We were delighted that a Carrabba family member came by and welcomed us - a nice touch. I wouldn't say there is anything surprising on the menu, but the standards are there and up to par. These people know how to run a restaurant. With a glass of wine and dessert, it came to about $40 / person."

  • "My group arrived at 5:15 and we decided to sit outside because it was such a nice evening. The patio was wonderful, covered so you're not sitting in direct sun, and elevated a few steps above street level with a nice breeze. The food was delicious, the happy hour specials were amazing - what a great time for a first-time visitor to Piatto to try the asparagus appetizer! We probably stayed too long, only because we were having such a great time, yet the service was excellent from start to finish. It will definitely be a regular spot for me in the future!"

  • "I was required to put something in "rate your dining experience" and "would you specifically recommend this restaurant" before being allowed to send this review. I was unable to dine at this restaurant so this review is not accurate. I'll update once I do. We arrived 15 minutes prior to our reservation time only to find a sign on the door saying the restaurant was closed due to electrical problems. Thankfully we live in the neighborhood and didn't have to drive far! When a restaurant closes unexpectedly, it would be a good idea to contact the people who made reservations and let them know. Contacting Open Table with a notification would be helpful as well, so additional reservations aren't made when the restaurant is closed."

  • "Our family just had a late lunch here. Between all of us, we managed to order from every section of the menu - wine, appetizers, chicken, fish, shrimp, pasta, and four different desserts. EVERYTHING was delicious. The calamari is to die for. Great selection and variety. Everything was fresh, brought to the table at proper temperature, glasses stayed full, service was top notch, wonderful wine list. We were welcomed like family. Our top favorites - calamari, ahi tuna, spaghetti and meatballs, Jessica's Pica Piatto (SOOO GOOD!), my husband's favorite is the Sea Bass, chocolate cake and creme brulee. Can't wait to try everything else! We will be back soon and often."

  • "Piatto continues Houston's trend of little great Italian food. Service was horrible on our Saturday night visit, with the waiter appearing erratically and then running off as soon as one request was uttered, without waiting to hear if there was more. During our excessively long wait for the check, the same waiter spent 10 minutes at the table next to us answering questions. It took two hours to get ordered, fed and billed. To top it all off, the owner was in the restaurant and spent the whole night sitting with friends at the bar, other than greeting a large party with hugs and kisses as they entered the private room. I hope owner has a lot of friends and family to support his restaurant because he didn't win a customer here."

  • "Pretty good, but a bit short of excellent, which was surprising considering it is one of the Carabba brothers (he was there too). Great house salad, very good seafood linguine (except the itty bitty crab claws mixed into it tasted old). Great veal piccatta! Waiter took so long to bring our dessert they comped that - however, the crème brulee was not worth waiting for - the crème was not creamy, but curdled. They will probably get better with time, the staff appears very enthusiastic - but don't know how to get customers to be honest with them. "

  • "First time in my life I've ever had them box up a salad to take home; it was that good! My entree was delicious and more then one person could eat. My partner and I had a great time and the service was over the top. We will be back for sure."

  • "Piatto's is a welcome addition to the Heights! The owner, John Carrabas, his wife, and daughter all greeted our group personally. They were very charming and personable. The food was outstanding, and the service was very good."

  • "Glad that their in now a good Italian Restaurant now in the Heights. Had lunch there with my daughter. We shared the tuna appetizer. It was large , fresh and wonderful. Then we shared eggplant Parmesan. Very tasty, but the serving was on the smaller side. That is ok, as we really do not need too much. We also shared a salad. Hugh but very good. "

  • "Enjoyed everything about the food and service. The floor is crowded and tight traffic flow among waiters and patrons visiting the restroom were the cause of several bumps on the chair of my cousin who was sitting on the busy side of our table. We spoke with Mr. Carrabba and he assured us he had made a note and would work on the problem. All in all a great experience, we will be back, in fact for brunch on Easter Sunday!"
