Piatti - SeattleWe have been to Piatti severalWe have been to Piatti several times before and never disappointed. Food is excellent and the service staff very attentive. It is great for couple's, families meeting up with UW students and a very nice respite from a day of shopping. Today, we arrived for an early dinner, asked for a quieter section because we had business to complete and got it. Really like that it is not one of the new "noisy" restaurants where you have to shout to be heard over the din. The food is always good and is presented well. The wait staff is outstanding and courteous. We were there on Mother's Day and the place was slammed with walk ins and reservations. It was impressive to see how well the staff handled all of the customers. They never acted hassled or rushed. When they arrived, they pointed out a table near the windows (of which there are quite a few!) and were graciously seated just where they wanted to be. Our server was helpful, friendly (though not intrusive) and everything we ordered was delicious and presented in attractive ways. We will definitely return to Piatti when we are in the area near University Village, and recommend this dining spot to others.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways SO Good, not this timeI need to explain my low rating on the food. I LOVE PIATTI but this time I chose one of the options on the 3 course special that is going on around Seattle right now. It was pork tenderloin with bacon mashed potatoes and a relish. It sounded good but there wasn't a wow factor. The potatoes were dry and tasteless, they needed a sauce of some kind. The "relish" of pomegranate and pinenuts had nothing to hold it together, just sprinkled around on top. It would have been so easy to make it all come together but they just didn't make it work.
I'll be back, I love their regular menu.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother Great MealPiatti is always a favorite. The waitstaff is attentive and friendly. The food is flavorful and the portions are perfect. We went there for lunch and there is always a good selection of entree sized salad, as well as pizzas, pastas, and sandwiches. The spinach salad with chicken was very good. The salad was perfectly dressed (not too much or too little) and the chicken was moist and tender. The cobb salad had the right balance of ingredients and was picture perfect when served. They always include a basket of freshly baked bread and a wonderful dipping sauce of oil, vinegar and herbs. We will always return as will our friends. Food choices are varied, drinks are the very best in the area and service so friendly and personal. They always go a step beyond. After our entrees we wanted to treat the birthday girls to a dessert. Since we are all dieters, we decided to share one.
