  • "My wife and I made reservations for a Friday night at 7:00 PM with specific requests including the following requests: "away from restrooms, the kitchen, and a main walkway." Ultimately, Piatti fulfilled the aforementioned requests in full by providing a table in an out of the way location that did not feel claustrophobic. Service was adequate and although the food was good, it is not ultimately worth the relatively high price tag affixed to the mostly run-of-the-mill menu items. However, the service and environment made our dinning experience very enjoyable, but it will be a while until my wife and I feel a need to return."

  • "Showed up early for reservation on our last visit, table was ready in short order. Wait staff is always attentive, food is good - Bruschetta is very good! Good place for lunch, wine and small plates in the afternoon or dinner. Better choices if you want big Italian in SA but good spot for pasta / pizza. Have tried their Bay Area and Seattle restaurants too; San Antonio (Quarry) is better."

  • "I have to say that we got off to a rough start by being forgotten by the waiter. After I complained to a manager about the service things got on a better keel. We split the large caesar salad which was plenty. I had the flounder which was well prepared and my wife had a personal pizza on which she commented that she really enjoyed the crust which was "nan" like but still nice and thin. We will of course go again the patio dinning is worth the wait even with uneven service."

  • "The food was excellent. We had 13 people (1 last minute addition) for a birthday dinner. The restaurant put our group on a set of tables located immediately as you entered the restaurant. This meant that we had to be careful as each customer entered or left the restaurant as there was not a lot of room at that spot. We got to the table and the birthday was placed at the corner of the table and I was at the end. No room for elbows, not a good spot for the man who made the reservation and the birthday girl. The reservation was made for 10 on Friday, changed to 12 on Monday, so there was plenty of time to be placed on the roomier side of the restaurant. Good food but not taking a group back. $500 was too much for being placed in a bad spot."

  • "We picked Piatti's this year to celebrate our wedding anniversary. While it was a fairly good experience, the noise level made it difficult to have much pleasant conversation let alone a quiet romantic exchange. Despite that, the food was good and our server was very cordial."

  • "We made reservations for 8 on the night of prom. There were three other prom groups so it was a hot spot! The waiter was jovial and very prompt. Everyone enjoyed the food, especially the salmon and penne pasta. I didn't think the oil dip was as good as everyone says it was, but the bread was nice. The best part was that the food was very good and very inexpensive!! Each person paid around 20$ which is veryyyyy reasonable, and easy on us high school kids. Service was quick despite being busy with the usual Saturday dinner rush + several large groups. This was my first time eating here, but I would come again with my family!"

  • "I've never had a bad meal at Piatti's. My husband and I met there before going downtown for a theater performance. Food was wonderful, drinks were tasty, but the service could have been a bit quicker. We informed our pleasant server that we had a time issue, and she was cheerful about undestanding. But... our shared entree came out just in time for us to have to devour it quickly, pay the check and rush to the theater. In fact, we barely made the curtain. Not sure what took the entree so long...."

  • "We dine here often and usually love it! This trip however, fell short of expectations. We made a reservation on OT but when we arrived they didn't have a record of it. I showed the hostess my confirmation email, but she said it didn't matter, we would have to wait for a table (30 minute wait.) We were finally seated in a booth next to the bar. We were there for a romantic dinner but we couldn't even hear each other over the obnoxiously loud & large crowd at the bar. It felt like a sports bar. We skipped the appetizer, ate quickly & got dessert to-go just so we could get out of there. I still highly recommend Piati, their food is incredible, but make sure you call ahead to confirm your reservation and ask not to be seated in the bar area."

  • "This is one of the most consistent restaurants in SA, FOOD IS ALWAYS GREAT, bartenders attentive and serve perfect drinks, servers knowledgable of wine and food very accommodating. This is a wonderful place to bring family from out of time because it's perfect always"

  • "We had a wonderful time, but it was very difficult to hear. With eight people, we were yelling to be heard over the noise in the restaurant."

  • "Out party of six, including two children all had a wonderful experience. The 6 and 8 year olds were given a piece of pizza dough to kneed and shape with which they entertained themselves for quite a while, and then the wait staff took it to the kitchen to bake, and they ate it along with their dinner. What a great idea for the smaller children. All adults thoroughly enjoyed the meal and excellent service."

  • "FABULOUS! Food, service, smores tableside??? OH WOW! This was the most fun I have had at a restaurant in quite awhile. The fried chicken w/ wood stove carrots was tops. Build your own smores tableside with your own open flame. Amazing. Can't believe we don't have one of these in the Houston area. Or maybe we do? I will have to check that out."

  • "Boy this place is hopping for lunch. It's a good place for lunch but if you need someplace intimate where you'll be discussing state secrets, I'd go somewhere else. The place is bright and has lots of light. Lunch prices are reasonable. The food is good."

  • "This was one of the loudest restaurants I have ever been to. It was so loud, I couldn't even hear my waiter. This leads to my second issue with the restaurant. The service was terrible! I don't know what it is, but waiters always assume that someone dining alone, reading a book, want a leisurely dinner and they think you want to be left alone. He was nowhere to be found. I even asked for the check early because I wanted to be able to walk out the minute I was done eating. He brought it, and then he never came back. Finally, the manager saw me looking around for him and took the check. Food was okay. The best thing I ate was the macaroni and cheese. Not worth a second trip in my opinion."

  • "Sitting outside, sipping wine, watching the Alamo Quarry smokestack change color. Nice enjoying great food, better still. Have a waiter do justice to his profession - life is good. We frequent Piatti's and have yet to be disappointed. Go - enjoy."

  • "We arrived and were shown to our cozy table back by the fireplace. There were four of us dining. We started with the baked goat's cheese, enjoyed salads, and then we enjoyed a variety of dishes -- veal pica tat, seafood stew, pork chop and chicken dishes. They were all fabulous. Good wine menu as well. The noise level definitely went up in our little room as the evening went on -- there were two large groups that were seated there as well. It was a little hard to hear, but we had a good time."

  • "Piatti always prepares very good food, and the service is top-notch. Normally, the bar maintains that standard, but not on this occasion. Two different cocktails were ordered, one of which was on the menu and the other a Sazerac. The bar informed us that they did not have all the ingredients for these two drinks. I can MAYBE understand missing an ingredient for the Sazerac, but if Piatti intends to offer a special bar drink of its own concoction, they need to be able to prepare it."

  • "Dined for date nite w/ hubs at Piatti. Service really good for a busy Saturday night. Food was good - hubs really enjoyed tuscan steak dinner, my pasta was very tasty w/ fresh garlic, tomatoes. Comfortable restaurant, not over the top fancy decor. Will return again soon!"

  • "We go almost weekly and have a wonderful time, bartenders Peter and Brian are wonderful. I am always amazed at the specials for the evening and have never been disappointed. It can get a little too noisy sometimes and I suggest more training for new servers, that is the only thing I have had trouble with. Maybe too many tables for one server, they tend to wonder off"
