Diner Reviews
  • "Discovered Piatti Thursday night. Wonderful meal, service, ambiance. Went back on Friday for more of the same. We wil go again!"

  • "I have been to Piatti's Eilan many times and have always been very pleased. We had a table of six and my trout came with sauce, not as I requested. The server was quick to remedy the problem, but the dish was rushed. The trout came back without the crunchy crust that really makes the dish. It wasn't worth sending it back to eat alone while everyone else had finished. Other than that a lovely meal that everyone enjoyed."

  • "Disappointed. Not happy with our service at all. Can't say a positive thing about our evening except getting the bill so we could leave. This is not the usual for Piatti."

  • "Recently discovered Piatti and have dined there three times. Last visit was disappointing. Really liked the food , atmosphere, and service, but the last time the food was not as good. Wife loves the spinach and ricotta ravioli and has eaten this each time. Last time this dish had way too much lemon and was not as good. My dish was not as good as previous experience. Still like the setting and service was great."

  • "Not a large restaurant but great food and service. Conveniently located at La Cantera area Elian hotel center."

  • "Big, nice surprise. We didn't know about the new Piatti and were very impressed. Small complaint: my ravioli was somewhat hard, but the spinach stuffing was great. My wife's veal piccata was wonderful, but a tad too lemony. Son's salmon was perfect."

  • "Great place for dining with groups for lunch! Food was great!"

  • "Beautiful setting, modern and trendy. The food was excellent and the portions not too large. Definitely worth trying. "

  • "Food was excellent. Waiter was exceptional. Very personable and knew the menu inside and out. Would definitely recommend this restaurant."

  • "Noisy, Piatti's needs to install sound absorption material, sound bounces off every solid surface. We were seated next to the food prep area, it was very interesting watching the cooking team prepare food, however, it takes away from the dining experience, as important the cook staff is, being all visible to diners - not a good idea. Pizza was very salty, but taste and thin crust makes it a candidate for repeat order if we dine at Piatti's again. Calamari was some of the best i've ever enjoyed. Ordered strong coffee - exactly what I wanted - superb ! Teramisu was very good, not heavy, wonderful taste - one of the best I've enjoyed."

  • "Fantastic food, service, and overall vibe of place. The only negative were bar drinks. Extremely watered or iced down compared to other venues. "

  • "I was most impressed with the service. In my reservation, I stated that it was our 41st Wedding Anniversary. The first thing that the waiter stated was, "Happy Anniversary, wow, 41 years! That's amazing." The excellent service just continued throughout the night. We even received our dessert gratis and had a fireworks show out of the top of the dessert. A truly remarkable experience."

  • "The waiter was especially attentive, (as we noted on our bill), food was sooooo good and the atmosphere most appealing. It was such a pleasant dining experience and since we eat out often, we have added it to one of our most desired restaurants. We plan to invite guests in the near future. The entire eilan area is just gorgeous. We haven't dined outside as yet, but are looking forward to that soon. Margaret White, Courtney's grandmother."

  • "Our first time at this location and it was a good one. There were large groups and couples both inside and out. We chose to sit inside, which was good, because the sprinklers went off and those sitting outside were dodging the water. The service was very good, our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. The food was good and arrived in a timely manner. Will return."

  • "FOOD WAS DELICIOUS. SERVICE OVERALL WAS VERY GOOD. FOOD TOOK AWHILE TO ARRIVE BUT WAITER SENT US AN APPETIZER FREE OF CHARGE WITHOUT US REQUESTING IT. THAT WAS VERY NICE AND UNEXPECTED. WE SAT OUTDOORS BECAUSE IT WAS MORE QUIET THEN INSIDE. PLUS IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL COOL EVENING IN TEXAS AND WELL WORTH THE LOVELY VIEW OF THE LOVELY FOUNTAIN AND BUILDINGS. FELT LIKE WE WERE OUTDOOR CAFE IN EUROPE. HOPE TO RETURN SOON. "

  • "From the moment we walked in the door it felt unorganized. We arrived at 2pm for a very late lunch. The host was aloof and expressed visible disappointment when greeting us. After some delay, we were sat near the kitchen. Our sever was better and he did his best with the bad timing from the kitchen. The kitchen was completely broken and their timing was off. We could see and I could understand the Latino cooks scramble when firing orders. The bad timing created a gaggle of servers moving frantically from the front of house to the receiving table hoping their orders were up. It clear there was bad communication. So we waited and waited for everything! The saving grace, was the food was good. "

  • "Brought out of town friends to our favorite restaurant. Piatti rose to the occasion. We had a perfect night. Great cocktails, fabulous food and excellent service."

  • "The manager Jason Baca is outstanding. He was able to accommodate us on Mother's Day with such short notice. Not only that, he was more than happy to help! My dad and I had the sweet potato crusted trout. The portion was huge!!! We both took half home for lunch the next day. My mom had the rigatoni (smaller portion). It was enough for her to finish for dinner and it was extremely flavorful. She was very happy needless to say. The calamari appetizer was great, not greasy like most are and the marinara sauce that came with it was delish. I'm usually not a fan of most. I will say if you're a drinker be prepared for $9+ cocktails. I think the 5 drinks were just as much as our two fish and 1 pasta dishes. Great service, view and ambience!"

  • "We dined on a Sunday evening. The restaurant appeared moderately busy. The food was very good. My salmon was perfectly grilled. Fortunately, we were not in a hurry. Our server was slow and when asked about menu items all he could offer was "that's popular." The service marred an otherwise enjoyable dinner. Perhaps some of the delay was due to the kitchen but we even waited too long for bread, drink refills, and the kids ice cream. This location needs to focus on better training the waitstaff. "

  • "Great service, beautiful venue, but the kitchen really didn't do their end. From the drenched salad to the smothered with pepper steak, every dish had an issue or something that made the food grating and un appealing. Maybe if the food was tasted beforehand this wouldn't be an issue, but I don't wanna spend 60+ $ for an over-peppered steak and salty pizza. Lots of potential, but there is a need for improvement in the kitchen."

  • "Service is always great here! Brought a friend. She had never been. We treated her for her birthday. She got a free dessert and was totally pleased with everything. Food was excellant!"

  • "Dined here several times however this time was different. The service was excellent. Our server Jonathan was pleasant, friendly, and went out of his way to accommodate our every need. I was shocked when he informed us he had just finished training a week prior. Food was excellent although a little too much sauce on my entree, next time ill just order it on the side. Overall wonderful experience and can't wait to dine again."

  • "Thank you for making this birthday celebration special!"

  • "Our Easter lunch was amazing! The original Piattis menu is superb and then they added special Easter items...delicious! The experience, service and atmosphere was just the perfect setting not to mention the ambience and view of the fountain outside being a beautiful site. The management made it extra special with holding an egg basket as you exited with chocolates and even some small surprises like eggs filled with free dessert vouchers for our next visit. Can't wait to go back!! What a treat and great way to end lunch!! "

  • "A wonderful bar! LOVE the wine on tap, especially the Italian blend. Great Happy Hour menu - my faves are the meatballs and Chicken Caesar salad. The zucchini tagliatelle is exceptional!! This location is now my first choice for restaurants in the area. "

  • "Long time (10+ years) Piatti Quarry fans, and LOVE the new location. Several visits since opening. The ambience/decor is perfect, as is the vibe. And the food on par or better than the original. Only. Issue on this particular day was service. Waiter was very kind, but overall restaurant seemed ill-prepared for the number of large lunch groups this day. Also, several rounds of identical drinks were ordered by the group (6), but taste of each round was inconsistent. Overall, Piatti is an excellent restaurant and this may have been a bad day. And in no way would ever prevent a return visit. Always worth a trip! "

  • "I live in Fiesta Texas neighborhood and Piatti's sits just above there inside the Eilan resort area. It is an elegant restaurant. I had lunch there Monday and it was very good. I am planning to return. There are many foods on the menu for vegetarians of which I am one. They take reservations even for a small group. That is a real plus for me."
    Dined on 4/7/2014
  • "I loved the ambiance and the location. It was comfortable not crammed and the food was spectacular! I dont know if it was a mistake or not, but my group of 12 did not get charged a gratuity, so we left a larger about 20-25% tip between all of our checks. We really appreciated that a lot and that was the selling point to us as reasoning to go back! They have a very classy persona. The tiramishu was phenominal as well!"

  • "We have eaten at Piatti in the quarry numerous times and have always loved it; however this time was our first at Eilan and we were not very impressed. The food was excellent but the service was horrible! We waited an hour and a half for our entrees and we were only a party of four! Not once did the manager ever come by our table to apologize. The server said he had talked to the manager but yet nothing was done. The server said maybe don't come back on a Saturday night! Wow!! And you would think maybe then they would comp something from the bill for waiting that long but no! So from now on we will just continue to go to the quarry where the service and management is excellent."

  • "Food was not as good as the first time we went. Salad and appetizer very good. Main courses just ok. Service lame. We got our food 90 minutes after arriving. Our waiter seemed inexperienced and disorganized, but friendly."

  • "Food was excellent. I had the sweet potato crusted trout and misto salad. Hubby had Caesar salad and veal piccata. Both were excellent. We did have a skunky glass of Etude Pinot noir that was cheerfully replaced with a J Lohr Cabernet. It would be nice to be able to vary wines by the glass, but here in San Antonio we must grit our teeth and bear it. Most restaurants carry the same wines by the glass. My husband and I joke about it and frequently guess the wines offered by the glass before we've seen the list. Enough of my rant. Piatti's was great. Try the patio."
