The salads were just 'ok', nothing memorable. Our server never asked if we wanted cracked pepper or other seasoning. The entrees were served before the salads were finished. My main course of butternut squash ravioli had 6 raviolis, and three had no filling. The sauce was bland, and there were only three sage leaves on the entire dish. My dinner partner had the special orecchiette , which was flavorful, but only had three shrimp. Wine list consists of poorly chosen lower priced wines and many over priced wines. I would not recommend this restaurant, there are many other better restaurants in the area.

All the food was really good, I had the salmon and my boyfriend had the short ribs. We started with the roasted beet salad. Waitress was very friendly and helpful. There's live music and larger crowds in the front, so ask to sit in the back for a quieter atmosphere if you want to talk. You can still hear the music though.

This was my wife's favorite restaurant when she lived on the Peninsula and it didn't disappoint. Excellent cocktails and the food was quite good, not great, but almost. They had a nice selection of cheeses, their Caesar was excellent and my Roasted Beet salad was the bomb. Where they fell short was on her main dish, Pasta Forma. It was just okay. My wife remarked that the pasta didn't seem fresh. However, my filet mignon was fantastic. They had a live band playing in the front bar which for a bar is great, but for dining the music didn't really fit well. It was at the end of our meal, so no big deal. Looked fun for a nighttime hangout spot.

I recently met a friend here for dinner on a weeknight and although I've always had a good experience at Piacere I was especially grateful for the outstanding service given my friend was 45 minutes late. The hostess sat me at a nice table immediately and my waiter was a saint about making sure I was happy despite my increasingly agitated state. The cocktail (OK, cocktails) took the edge off and the food was well worth the wait. A perfect combination of healthy and delectable.

We went to Piacere with friends as a musician, was playing there that evening whom we'd heard before and we knew his music was great. We had a jovial evening with friends, the service was excellent, and the food was okay, nothing special. We had one bottle of good but not particularly expensive wine, 3 starters, 5 mains, and 3 desserts. It came to $75 per person. The music and getting together with friends we don't see very often made it worthwhile, but we found the price to quality-of-food ratio a bit steep. It wasn't that the food was bad, but it wasn't delicious or memorable, either. Maybe because we're from the City, and Piacere caters to a more homogenized suburban taste?

We have been going to Piacere for years. They changed the menu, but we were still disappointed. We sent back our shrimp appetizer as it was overcooked and flavorless. My lamb chops were ok, but not that interesting. The vegetable sides were interesting but the beans were hard and overcooked, and the eggplant was good, just a little greasy. My husband ordered the Kobe Beef ($42.00), he was unimpressed as well. With so many wonderful choices in San Carlos, they need to step up their kitchen!

We dined on Sunday as the San Carlos Art & Wine festival was winding down and sat at an outdoor table to check things out. It was a lovely evening and we were looking forward to a nice meal. We have eaten at Piacere many times and have enjoyed it, but this time it was a major disappointment. We tried to order the chickpea appetizer & they were out of them so we decided to split a kale salad. It was very good. We then ordered one of their pizzas to share and our waiter came back and said they could not do pizzas today. I ordered a penne dish with chicken and italian sausage. The plate was so hot that I burned my finger adjusting the plate. The waiter didn't let me know it was hot. The penne was tasteless. Overall a real disappointment.

Granted, this time we dined at Piacere at 2pm on Sunday afternoon, so it wasn't too busy. But still, the service was extremely attentive and friendly. I wouldn't consider its menu "inexpensive" dining, but it is a great place for a romantic dinner or special occasion.

We had a delicious brunch with wonderful service. The pancakes were light and fluffy and the honey butter was yummy. The eggs were scrambled perfectly and the bacon (we asked for this in place of the chicken apple sausage) was crispy and meaty, just the way we wanted them. It was a lovely day, so we sat outside. We will definitely do this again!

We had nice dinner, but we had to wait over 30 minutes for our salad. The excuse the waiter gave us was that they had just changed the menu and the kitchen didn't know how to make the salad. The other portion of service was quite good, our water glasses were constantly being filled, our plates taken away. We just had a hard time believing that they couldn't find anyone who could make a salad. After waiting over 30 minutes for our food, the rest of the meal was delicious, but the bad taste of our wait put us off.

We were in a small room and the host was very rude and wanted us out of the room because another party was coming in. No one told us that we had to get out, but the noise was so bad, we paid our bill and left. I don't know if I would recommend this place. It would have been nice if they would have told us before we sat down what was going on, we wanted to say longer. Very unhappy guest.

These guys did a great job with a large party (13!) which included two toddlers and an infant and a last minute reservation. There is no kids menu, but they were very accommodating and made small cheese pizzas for our kids, which were a big hit. Service was very attentive, given the size of our party, and they quickly rectified a problem when one of the entrees came out wrong. Everyone enjoyed dinner, and we wish we could have stayed later for the live music that was being set up.

We only had 12 of the 17 show up, but the restaurant didn't complain about it. Very much appreciate the flexibility! The food was great as was the service. Hostess "team" did not even acknowledge our reservation and had not prepared for out table & they were not busy. It took 3 trips to get drink order since the waiter did not know what the wines of the day were & that 2 beers we ordered were out of stock. Wine list is over priced and disappointing. In the SF the Bay Area one should be able to order a good glass of wine for under $10/glass. Only glasses of wine available are $11+/glass except for the "wines of the day" at $9/glass. White wine of the day we ordered was terrible, like vinegar. We had to return it & buy an overpriced glass of white wine. While food is good, other restaurants in area much better service. Too bad because Piacere has a nice ambience, especially the patio seating.

Piacere is good, but over priced for what you get. I had Salmon that was $29, and it was a very small piece, on top of some sort of mashed vegetable. It was good, but no vegetables to speak of, and not what you expect for that much, especially when you compare to the other restaurants in the area. We left there really shocked at the expense for what we had gotten. I will not go back, as there are too many other great places with better food and prices.

music to dine by..... A little jazz played while we enjoyed our delightful dinner and loud enough to enjoy yet not too loud that you couldn't talk to each other. White table clothes, but not pretentious and dining outside too. Flat Iron Steak was cooked perfectly with a wonderful wine sauce, green beans crispy and roasted beat salad delicious. Lam T Bone also ordered at the table was proclaimed excellent. Lots of competition in San Carlos with such great restaurants and Piacere is one of them. Loved the music - an added bit of ambiance that will bring me back.

We were a group of 6 adults and 3 kids (one an infant), and we were seated nicely with an attentive server who was enthusiastic about the food he was serving. Almost everything was delicious. Especially the zucchini blossoms appetizer, the burata and the nudi. I was less impressed with the deserts (chocolate flan cake and cheesecake) although they were all right in taste... But they fell short of expectations with the rest of the food. We enjoyed the live music and our kids were dancing to it :) One big minus: their bathrooms grew progressively filthy throughout the evening and no one was looking into it.

Food was nothing to write home about. I had the nudi which I thought was salty and it was top with lots of flat leaf parsley which I thought should have been less and maybe finely chopped. We went here to celebrate my father-in-laws birthday. I had originally booked a table at Town but thought it would be too loud so changed to Piacere. That was a mistake. Thursdays they have a guy playing music and made it really difficult to have any conversation. The service was very good but the food lacked. Main grievances: squash blossom appetizer was super greasy, gnocchi with sun dried tomatoes was way overly salted.
