We had both heard about it and although it's not in our neighborhood, it's not far away. We had a very good meal in relaxed surroundings. It was pleasantly busy but not crowded. It could have been that it was Memorial Day and the last night of a 3-day weekend. Being able to reserve a table via Open Table was very helpful. Walking through the door puts you instantly into a warm, inviting interior with dim, but effective lighting that accents the art on the walls celebrating Arizona. The food is based on simple classics with southwestern influence, but more innovative than most others and very well executed. The food is a good value at these prices. The wine list is fairly basic and not as competitively priced, but has enough variety to satisfy most. If you are more about excellent, interesting food than paying for a fancy location or wine, then you will love this place. It has been 2 years since our last visit ( because we moved to Georgia!)! It was great to see familiar wait staff, owners and even an updated menu, along with the corn cakes, and other regular choices.
A fine restaurant. The chef is reliable and doesn't try to be too trendy, keeping the prices reasonable.

The service and food is head and shoulders above other restaurants with creative menus. I don't know how the wait staff is trained but if the secret got out...wow! Sheldon"s (the owner) presence is very important and he never fails to greet and inquire if we are satisfied. The menu is not vast but they do have some great items. The beef tenderloin and raspberry almond-crusted tilapia were the two entrees I enjoyed. The flavor was fantastic and the meat quality high. They do have a full bar with an interesting beer & wine list. The appetizers are quite good but a little expensive for the serving size. The menu had entrees that satisfied all of our quirks - two vegans, one child, and two grandmas with very picky tastes. They were able to seat our large family together, which was very nice. And it was not too noisy - this is really important for the folks wearing hearing aids.
