Philly G'sDining and entertainmentThis is a charming layout with multiple rooms that give a certain intimacy to the experience. The Italian fare is good to excellent. We were a party of 4 & no one was disappointed with the food. The service was more than prompt...actually a little too fast. From the front desk to the waitress, everyone was 'neighborhood' friendly.' Wanting something light, I ordered the evening's special which was a halibut & I was not disappointed. The fried calamari was light & crisp & not drowning in batter. The bolognaise sauce was "the best ever," one in our party commented. Notably, there was no food left on anyone's plate when we finished. If you are looking for 'haute' Italian cuisine, this isn't the place to go. Their chef is fabulous and always has something delicious to taste. They did not hurry us through dinner even though they were very busy. We were one of the last tables still in the dining room because we were having such a good time. Great place to hang out in the bar also. Service was knowledgeable and friendly. Sat outside at lunchtime and celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary together. Our food was delicious and our server was excellent. For dessert, ask about the fruit sorbets, served in the fruit's shell. It's generally quiet, so good for a romantic dinner. In many ways an old fashion italian restaurant brought up to date. The porch atmosphere which is very pleasant in nice weather is also a pleasant place to sit in cold weather. Relaxed and friendly.
